    19A Archery

I had this hunt a few years ago, oh wait I think it was the second archery hunt in 19a. I did not sit water, and still harvested a nice goat. They are everywhere. I can not wait until my next tag. I would find 5 different goats, then figure out which one I thought I had the best chance at stalking in on. It took only one day, and I blew 3 stalks and connected on the fourth. My advice to you would be to get ready for 100* weather. Boy was it hot.

    need some good input

I switched from BFG's to Goodyear duratracs. I have put over 50,000 miles on them so far. They are clsoe to worn out, but have been a phenominal tire. I used to be a BFG fan, but the mudders wore out too fast and the all terrains, I had problems with the tread chunking out. These duratracs are a cross between a mudder and an all terrain. If I remember correctly, they were a tad bit cheaper than the BFG all terrains. I go to discount tire and always get the price lower than what they originally come at you with. It's kind of like buying a truck at discount tire. Haggle with them, and they will always lower their price.

    Late season tactics

Invest, (if you already have not) in a very nice tripod and some great glass. The keys to these late hunts is glassing em' up and putting the stalk on them. It will also be a benefit if you are able to shoot longer distances. Lots of times, you find them on thicks hills and when you get too close, you are not able to see the animal anymore. Also I like to look for travel ways in which the elk will be migrateing. Last year we saw over 50 bulls in 6 days. We can only confirm a few that we had seen from previous days. They like to move during this time, and you just need to hope it is during daylight hours. What unit do you have?

    LOOKING BACK

Big thanks to Mr. Quimby for understanding my gripe, I should have just pm'd him at the beginning and it would have went smoother. I have to use a program to check my stuff at work, Mr. Quimby is probably the one who invented the program i use. Just for the record, I went about this the wrong way and am sorry.

Need a Phone Number for AZGFD

Lots of time in these cases, Game and fish will tell you to hire a private party to get rid of the coyote. Ususally they do not get involved unless the coyote is a threat to civillians. they specifically licenes people in this state to go and trap nuissance coyotes. Look up Arizona wildlife control. He is good and can help you.

    Online Draw

Hey everyone, just wanted to let everyone know that the online draw is now available. Everything looks the same as last draw, lets just hope they can get the results out in a more timely manner this time. The suspense of the elk and antelope draw almost pushed a few of us over the edge. Good luck

    LOOKING BACK

I deleted them because it caused too much conflict and it was not needed.

    Be the decoy

That's awesome. Love the picture. Those goats are so dominant during the rut, I think they think they are 10 feet tall and arrow proof.

    The new Swarovski 15's

EL56's would complete me. I would think that sooner or later Swaro would have to come out with them. I sold optics for many years, and always got asked if they make an EL in 15x56. I can remember when the geovid came out, and Swaro said they would never do a range finding optic because they were not able to incorporate a range finder into the optic and keep the quality of image up to their standards. Now they have an EL range on the way. This guy can not wait to see the new 15's.

    Mechanical or Fixed Broadhead

I love Wac em's. I think they are second to none and have taken several animals with them. My other favs are slick tricks and shuttle t locks, or terminal T locks. All are fixed blade, and all fly good out to longer yardages. (70-80 yards). I do not shot expandables, but have no gripes with them either. Just a personal preference.

Few critters from April and May

Looks like a sweet little spot. Putting water out is an awesome attractant. Nice pics!!!

    Be the decoy

With some guys shooting 100+ yards with a bow, you are not safe even on an archery hunt

    Be the decoy

In Arizona, that might end your life premature. I wouldn't be caught, (pardon the pun) dead in that thing. This is a death sentence waiting to be issued. I used a montana decoy once, and had another hunter start stalking in my direction with his bow. NOT A FAN!!!!

    Sitka Gear for sale

IMO i think Sitka is wayyyyy overpriced. I have a few of their items and unfortunately, they tear and rip just like my cheaper camo. Arizona is too harsh on camo for me to spend that kind of money on it. Good luck with the sale, I know there has to be a few diehard sitka guys on here.

Thoughts about what makes a "trophy" animal

I guess that both of those responses are the correct ones, however a trophy is a nice rack as well. Most of us want to say that it is all in the experience and what not, but I have been on plenty of hunts that I worked my arse off to only come back with a small racked animal. At the time the PC answer is what you tell everyone, but after a few years and having tagged a bigger buck, bull or whatever, the big ones get all the attention. I find myself doing that all the time. When people walk into my unting room, they usually do not ask about the small ones. they seem to congregate to the larger ones which I consider my trophy animals.

    Pickin' up Sticks!

Nice looking mount. Looks like alot of time was spent on the pedestal and it shows. The sticks behind him are spot on for that 12aw late hunt.

    My muley

170-180? Really? That is a nice buck and I would say he is high 130's. Maybe low 140's.
  22. Great job trying to hire people from this site. I like to see that companys are hiring again and it seems as tho, most everyone is picking up. Good luck with the hiring.

    What do you all think

I think you can take the might out of "you might be a redneck" if you name him coues hunter. I personaly can not stand it when people try to think too hard about an off beat name for their kid. Poor kids have to go to school and lets face it, kids are cruel. He will get made fun of. Cooch hunter, if he is a fatty, they might actually call him COWS. It is the correct way to say it. Hopefully he doesnt chase fatty's and then he really will be a cow hunter.

How do you hunt the Kaibab?

Mr. Quimby shut down. Nice Response bohuntr. That response IMO hits the nail on the head. Too many tags and not enough mature bucks. I had the late 12aw tag 2 years ago. I had a great hunt, but I was only able to locate 4 bucks I thought would go over 180." I hunted everyday of the hunt except the last day. I tagged out on a mature buck the day before last. During this hunt, I saw countless bucks that were 4x4, however most were in the 140"-170" range. Not to mention all of the bucks I saw hanging in camps. Most were not mature ( except Dwayne adams camp). What really erks me about Kaibab is the fact that there is no competition for does. Every buck has does, no matter how big they are. If they get run off by a mature buck, they go over the hill and there will be another group of does he can take. Seems like there management is leaning towards #'s and not quality.
