    15A / 15B Buck

hard to say based on those photos. looks like a good buck. i would guess high 70's
  2. 270 is plenty of speed. Do not overthink it. More speed = More problems. Trying to tweak out an extra 10fps isn't going to be worth it. It isnt going to be the difference between a kill and a not so kill. Ask Chuck Adams. Seems that guy was able to kill lots of animals with a bow that was nowhere near 300.
  3. with watered down 38 super rounds he makes that look easy.

    23 Late muley

This is me hating you... J/k Great tag and good luck on the hunt.
  5. 350 grain arrows plus 125 grain head? It would be very hard to get a 29 and 1/2 inch arrow with a 125 grain head to weigh 350. When they say 350 grain arrow, they mean 350 including the tip. I shoot a bow that says IBO of 310 and I shoot right around 270. Totally normal. Funny thing is, if you read most company's warranty, if you shoot the same set up as they do when they get the IBO, you will void your warranty. Most bows want you to shoot atleast 5.5 grains of arrow per pound of pull weight. i.e 70 lbs should shoot atleast a 385 grain arrow.

Two Javelina Bag Limit (under some circumstances)!

G&F surveys are pretty much a joke. until there is mandatory check in, their surveys are nowhere near accurate. I bet game and fish has figured out that if they throw 1000 tags in one unit at the same time, the amount of deer actually killed decreases. The deer see people everywhere they go, so they go into caves. Ask "Coosefan" he caught one coming out of hiding.

    Hunting in august...

If I have a chance at a good buck in August, I would love to end his growing premature. At the end of the day, a few more inches isn't going to be my make or break decision.
  8. I love my 1911's, but if I had to grab a gun for combat, it would not be any of them. I love my glocks. More reliable, I do not care what any 1911 user says. My glock is really hard to limp wrist, 1911's are not. Glocks can handle dust and dirt. 1911's can't. Well wait, if they get some nice and used 1911's they can handle some dirt. Seems tolerances at start are so tight, there is not much room for error. At the end of the day, I would have loved to see them buy a better suited .45 than the 1911 platform.

Bow hunting turkey: which points to use

sit water, or just hike thru the woods. Chances are they are going to be silent. As far as broadhead, I don't think it matters much. I shot one with a 100 3 blade wac em' and it looked like it swallowed a grenade. Something about their skin makes for nasty wound channels.

Arizona Bait Ban - AZGF wants "Bait" ban

intimdation by WM's should be reported to AZGFD and they claim they will investigate and take action. If there is no law being broken, they can not say shitake mushrooms.

Arizona Bait Ban - AZGF wants "Bait" ban

I am interested in what game and fish's stance and reasoning behind this new law. I could think of a few of their arguments they can make, but I can also think of some us hunters can argue. I am going to assume that a few bad apples are going to ruin it for all of us. (if we let them.)

    Women's hand gun for protection

Hammerless revolver for carry, I conceal a smith and wesson 642. Shoots 38+p's and despite what some say, a 38 will stop bad people. No hammer, very reliable and takes no thinking to fire it. No safety's to think about, however probably the safest gun to carry. I have my wife carry one in here purse, and I tell her when she is walking late at night, she can have her hand on the gun inside her purse and no one has to know. If she needs to use it, it will fire right thru the purse and you do not need to room for the action to cycle. It will go bang all 5 times. If it is for Target practice, I love 22's and if you want something bigger go with the glock 17. Full size 9mm easy to shoot and very reliable.

    BIG 7X8 BULL!!!

He is a dandy!!!! Hopefully your clients do not drop the ball again this year. That is one of the most frustrateing things about helping people out. I feel for you guides when your clients makes a bad shot or completely misses. Missing is obviously a lot better result, but a much poorer shot. Good luck this season and I hope you continue your excellent record up there in the Bab.

Two Javelina Bag Limit (under some circumstances)!

Sign me up. They are one of my favorite animals to hunt. They make for an enjoyable hunt and also make it easy to introduce a novice to hunting. Generally if you know where they hang out, you can get a novice into them and they will usually get the pump that all of us hunters enjoy. Great Idea G&F.
  21. So I heard that one of the wildlife managers has been and will continue to write tickets for using a vehicle in the aid of take of animals if: A hunter spots something that is a far distance away and sees a road that will cut his hike from 4-5 miles to only 1 miles. He then gets in his vehicle and drives to that road and then hikes after his game. IMO this is crap and just wanted to know what you all think? This is happening in prime antelope country and as all of you know, Antelope can be spotted from great distances away. I think this is a huge contradiction of their pack out all of your meat as well. The Archery Antelope hunts can and usually are in the 90* temperature range. If you hike 5 miles and then kill, you then have to hike back 5 miles and that pretty much spells a spoiled goat. Whats your thoughts? and if there are any Wildlife managers on here, please chime in if I heard wrong.

    Bartlett Flatheads

Sinkers work well!!! LOL. I am guessing he is saying that the fish are found in 2-8' of water. I used to fish for flayheads a bunch, and always caught them in 10' or less of water and always on the bottom. I used to have the best luck with 3 giant minnows on one hook, on the bottom. We would use a seine net, and catch the minnows from the river. When it is mid-day to evening, I would fish deeper holes. When it was night time, I would always move into the shallower water and thats usually when the fun really begins.
