While i totally agree with you that G&F is way out of line with a lot of their cases, What the meeting minutes do not tell you is that most, if not all of the cases are plea deals. This is G&F way of making you plead to charges, even if you are pretty confident you can defeat them in court. You only see the charges they plead to and not the charges that were originally brought against them.

Nice buck with a bow. Dude has some character with his funky horns. Looks like he has 16 inch inside spread.

Great idea with sinching with a ratchet strap, But i would nut and bolt the plumbers tape instead of drywall screws. It will last much longer and will not have screws going into your target.

<---- this guy is jealous. Nice bear and called in to boot. I love calling in critters, gets the blood pumping. What unit was this sow killed in?

Darn it, seems it is common for people to "rent" this tent and then return it and get their rental fee back @ cabelas. Should be another in the near future. good luck

Do you have any better pictures? Great hunt and great goat. I love that hunt and hope i get it in the next few years again. My first hunt in there was so quick, I didn't even get to enjoy the 100* weather. Way to get it done with the stick and string.

I am curious if anyone has had this tag? If so, what kind of buck can you expect to see? I have a friend that drew this tag and he has never hunted 4B. He plans on scouting a bunch, and already has found some good bucks that look to be in the high 70's, low 80's. I am planning on helping him on his hunt and wondered if any of you guys have any areas to look at or avoid. Any input is appreciated.

Great mountain there.. I love the amount of wildlife you are able to find in that range.

Arizona archery club just opened in north phoenix. Have you been there? If not, it is a huge place with I think 30 lanes of 45+ yards. As far as want, yeah we always want another local archery shop, the issue would be sustainability. Seems there has been plenty of archery shops in phoenix, and only a few survive. Fiesta archery used to have a bunch of 3d targets and i think their range was 25 or 30 yards. I am not trying to talk you out of opening your dream, just do your research and the key to opening a new shop would be the brand of bows you will be able to carry. Make sure that you are able to get the Mathews, bowtech and Hoyt. Also lots of other smaller companies that are up and coming like athens and G5. Good luck in whatever you choose. If you build I will come. LOL

Really???? Greedy??? Pay for tickets, win something with the tickets you paid for, Give it to someone else so they can sell it and make money on it. Reminds me of OBAMA and his you didn't build that speech. JACK@rse. -
This is crazy, guy says 13 year old shot a prairie dog out of season and now he is going thru this heck. No one caught him doing it, he turned himself in when he saw that they were out of season. This is why people do not help Game and fish. They want you to report everything, then they drop the hammer on you if you turn yourself in. It's not like he did anything intentional or used rash judgement. A simple mistake, and now he is being charged with a class 2 misdemeanor. Funny thing is, he admitted it happend and now he has to plead not guilty to get the charge dropped. Trust me, many people make mistakes. Police officers who enforce the law, break the law as well. It is human nature. You can not speed, 90% of police probably speed. (not sure if that last sentence is true, but I bet it is.) I have heard whore stories of people reporting their own honest mistakes and Game and Fish being total #%!#s about it. What happened to the days where honesty was the best policy. Seems he should have just swept it under the rug and this wouldn't be happening to him. Shame on Game and Fish for their actions. It's a praire dogg. Why have seasons on such a destructive critter. I am sure ranchers do not want seasons on those things. No season on jackrabbits, but a season on praire dogs.

Things your huntin buddies do that drive you nuts : )

Doesn't sound like a buddy I would keep close. Sounds more like an acquantince. I have a few buddies, not close, but close enough that I have helped out in the past with javelina. Then I hear that (friends name) took another guy to HIS spot and got him a javelina. Funny how you can show a guy a spot and if he has not had very much success before hand, it will not become his go to spot. I guess I can not blame a guy. If I had been hunting for years with no luck, and then you go out for 2 hours and you are tagged out, why go anywhere else. None the less, I still help out and am just very careful where I take him. -
I had the hunt a few years ago, and I ran into him and his guides a few times on my hunt. They actually shot a buck about a 100 yards away from me that I was trying to locate. They were across the canyon and killed him from 600 yards away. I was frustrated, and went to where I heard the thwap. I found the dead buck, and yeah it was him. I waited for the guys to show up at the deer and then we got to talking. Seems we had been hunting the same bucks for most of the hunt. They saw me everyday, and I saw them. Turned out to be good guys and just got a better angle on the hill than I did. If you have never hunted 12aw late, I will tell you that you will have plenty of opportunites without hiring a guide. I would say 150" is just about a given. Finding the 180's or better gets alot tougher. If money is tight, I would say get up there 4 days before your hunt and do some glassing. You will find plenty of bucks and just need to figure out what you are holding out for. If you need any pointers PM me and I will gladly help you out any way I can.

I love it.. I hope that I, or any of my fellow conceal carriers are ever involved in a violent crime like this, however it feels good to know that I will not go down unarmed and hoping for my safe well being. I love that this guy taught these worthless scumbags a lesson, only wish it was a permanent one. Great video. thanks for posting.

Exactly what coosefan said. I had my hunting partner make a marginal shot a few years back with his bow. We waited 2 hours in the dark and then went to recover the arrow where he was hit. I found about 20 inches of arrow and it had very little blood on it. This told us that he definetly hit bone, and 8.5" of arrow are still inside of the bull. Since he was able to watch this bull bed 4 times before he dissappered in the dark, we decided to make the very tough call and go back to camp. I don't think my partner ate dinner and I know he had a few cases of the dry heaves knowing he might have wounded a 350 class bull. First thing next morning we went looking for the bull and as luck would have it, we found him about 100 yards from where he last saw him. Made a marginal shot, but was able to cut a major artery right next to the heart. The bull was so stiff that it was hard to pose him for pictures. We knew he died pretty fast that night and in hindsight we could have probably found him at night if we would have pursued him. As Jim said tho, we were not going to roll the dice and lose a whole bull rather than a little meat. Well, we butchered him on the spot and there was 0 meat loss. I believe the highs on the hunt were in the 70's and the lows maybe were in the high 40's. We cut the bull up into small pieces of meat and quickly got them to cool down and it resulted in 0 meat loss. I always error on the side of not pushing an animal rather than pursueing.

Bring extra beer, so when you are in camp frustrated, you can atleast enjoy a cold one.

pcf wp's are a great optic for the money. In a porro prizm, they are one of the best in that price range. Having said that, I do not like the 20x60's. Too dark with only a 3mm exit pupil. I think you are far better off with a set of 12's or maybe 16's. I find that I do much better with crisp bright optics, rather than having a lot of power. This is well demonstrated with a lot of people wanting to trade in their 15 power swaros for the new 12 power swaro el's. Crisper optics pay dividends in backstrap and tenderloin. I use my 10x42 el's from a tripod and a lot of the time, i find more animals than most of my buddies when they are using 15's. Just my opinion, hopefully it helps.

7.62 x 39 has plenty of energy to knock down deer. If you have the itch, scratch it. I had the itch last year to get into muzzleloading. I went out bought a muzzleloader and knocked down a muley with it. Was a great time, and I can now check that off my list of stuff I wanted to do. Good luck.
