When I used to sell guns, we would on occasion get a few rifles, that had the holes drilled slightly off center. We used to send the gun back to the factory, and they would send us a new gun and acknowledge the problem.

Seems that a consensus is that the zeiss is clearer, but the vortex has more adjustment and is a little cheaper. I think I am going with Zeiss. If I wanted to get mor adjustment out of the zeiss, I could always get a 20moa base. I should just say, when the scope runs out of adjustment, that is probably a sign that so has my ability to shoot that far. SJVCON- SInce you have both, I would like to hear some direct feedback when you get a chance to get behind those Hs's. I probably won't pull the trigger on buying a new scope until around Christmas.

I am sure this has been discussed somewhere, or maybe not. I need to get a nice scope for a semi- long range gun. ( 500 yards) would be max as of right now. I am up in the air on which scope to get, and would like your opinions. Most of you have used one or the other and some of you have probably used both. Which scope is going to give you the best bang for your buck. I am looking at either the 4.5-14 x 44 zeiss conquest or the 4-16x50 Vortex HS LR. I like the fact that the vortex has 75 MOA adjustment on elevation, and also like their turret system. Plus it is a 30mm tube vs only the 1" from Zeiss. I have a zeiss conquest 3-9 on one rifle, and love the crispness of the image for the money. I appreciate your input.

Sounds like a lot of work but, Cancel your credit card and have them issue you a new one. Just tell em it got lost and you want to cancel it. This happened to me 2 years ago, except my bank cancelled my card without my knowledge because of "a potential security breach." They jsut sent me a new card in the mail with a new # and unfortunately this happened right as the draw process began.

Picacho has water, and has a good amount of ducks on it. Problem as stated above is People. In most places, more people = ducks moving and a good thing. At Picacho, seems like more people sky bust and just keeps the ducks high and far.

Shooting form, how you pull the trigger on your release, hand torque, grip strength can all be contributing factors to your arrows not flying accurately with broadheads. Broadheads tend to identify any inconsistancies in your form or the tuning of your bow. Having said that, Shooting at different distances while paper tuning can make a world of difference. just Because you shoot bullet holes at 3 feet, does not mean they are still bullet holes at 10 feet. If you do not want to try and fix your form, go with smaller broadheads or smaller mechanicals. Slick tricks, wac ems, shuttle T are some examples of smaller diameter broadheads that "usually" will fly great even with flaws in form or tuning. (so long as they are not major).

Solar battery charger is great. I use when everytime I camp. they will not charge your battery fully, but they maintain them perfectly.

So it seems that instead of always talking bad about Game and Fish, most hunters should praise them. They have taken a stand against USF&W on the jaguar conservation land they are seeking in NM and AZ. Basically I see it as USF&W trying to set aside a lot of land because jaguars could be present. This would close lots of coues country, and our Game and Fish has taken a stance against it. I agree with them 100% on their argument of this not affecting the conservation efforts of the jaguar. Keep up the good work Game and Fish.

I have always used a bore brush that is the size of the case. I guess I have never thought about if I am doing it right or not. Some long range shooters will probably have a more precise and correct way to clean it.

The design of that bow looks almost identical to earlier bowtechs. I have owned a justice, liberty and 2 different tributes. Looks like these guys like the older designs vs. the newer trend of true parellel limbs or even beyond.

Why not travel there for meat and the experience of hunting caribou? Seems we have different priorities when it comes to hunting. You see I love to shoot an animal with a gigantic rack, however, I also really enjoy hunting. I hav never chased caribou and would love to be given the opportunity. At the end of the day, I do not even know how to score caribou. I have heard double shovel is a great thing to look for. I would be elated with an average caribou and the experience of the hunt. Catfish Campbell, would you say the same as far as the time of year to go there. I would be really interested in jsut harvesting a caribou, anything that is considered bigger than average would be a great bonus.

What is the success rate on doing this? I would love to go to Alaska and take a caribou. Any restrictions on getting the meat back to Az? I guess I am curious on the logistics of this adventure. Is there hotels close? If not, you would have to figure out a type of camp. When is best time of year to attempt this hunt? sorry for all the questions, I just have 0 clue on where to start to hunt alaska without a guide.

Keyboard tough guy? From your other post I'm gathering you disagree with baiting because of the high harvest ratio? Again I find it ignorant to think it is from baiting? So what will you say when this gets banned and the archery hunters are still more successful? Or is it that you are an archery hunter that just can't harvest deer and feel that everyone else that does must be baiting? Like I said before this was attempted by G&F before and was shot down by the hunting groups whom banded together to fight it. I don't bait(food plots or feeders) but don't think it is right to ban it just because someone feels it is causing a higher success rate. Salt is another issue and I don't see an issue with it. The problem here is salt is being lumped into baiting. Salt and mineral licks were something I learned about over twenty years ago by a G&F warden! He taught me a lot about hunting whitetail. I have many friends whom work in the G&F department and most of them use something during their archery hunting. Again if your using the argument for keeping CWD out of the state then provide the research, if your doing it for high harvest ratios then again provide the proof before just banning it.
