Here's the actual rule R12-4-104
-
She can have a hunting license at 9. It's just not valid for big game until she is 10.
-
That's not true, if that's what was said. He can def apply if he turns 10 before the hunt. But he cant apply for a bonus point only until he turns 10.
-
There are actually two draws for Javelina. The one you're looking for is the spring draw in October for hunts in Jan and Feb of 2027. There is a fall draw for javelina but it is youth only so your son can apply for that and hunt this fall. You can apply your kid for both. The OTC options aren't great so I would just apply for the draws. It won't take long to draw.

Was wondering why I hadn't seen him buying any auction tags recently. Guess it's harder to do when the government isn't paying for them. Might be some big animals for sale soon! https://fm.kuac.org/2024-12-23/indictment-fairbanks-dentists-submitted-multiple-fraudulent-medicaid-claims-over-5-year-period Edit: Others online have mentioned some questions about statute of limitations issues, which in Alaska is 5 years from the date of the crime unless it involves fraud. Then it's a year from discovery. Only charge there not involving fraud is the theft charge. Can also see his attorneys have filed motions related to statute of limitations so it will be interesting to see how it all goes.
-
Correct. Only time it would ever matter is if by chance a res and nr tag were available. Which isn't likely, but not impossible.
-
I know for a fact I'm not way off. It's not a guess. This guy is a multi millionaire that has purchased every auction tag there is to buy across the western United States in the last 10-15 years. The sums of money involved aren't divulged. Simply the most serious Medicare fraud charges in Alaska are $25,000+ so that's what it's labeled. It could be a whole lot more than $25,000. Someone will need to get the indicment to figure that out. As to any other questions you're asking, I have no clue how people run things in that world but I think when people get used to doing something like that it becomes second nature until it all hits the fan.

Dentist in Alaska making $1,000,000+ a year. If he is convicted theres a high probability he loses his dental license. Maybe we will see him down here guiding for his brother Chad/A3 to pay his bills.
-
Correct. I'd imagine average guy applying for those hunts is 75+
-
Maybe, I have no idea how old he is or his condition. Just stating what the report says.
-
I saw the report said he didn't kill. Also only hunted 7 days on a two month hunt so doesn't seem like there was much effort.

Just throwing it out there that when a non resident applies with a resident (in this case your son is treated as a resident for cap purposes) it does NOT suck the resident into the non resident cap. There simply must be enough tags to give to both. If there is one non res tag available as well as a resident tag available when their app is pulled it will give them tags. Same thing with a non resident with a lifetime license applying with a non res without a lifetime license. The lifetime license guys is treated as a resident for cap purposes but pays non resident prices for the tag if drawn. The only thing that combines in either scenario is their bonus points averaging. Not that helps your odds much but figured I would clear up some confusion from prior posts.

That attorney explained and it kind of made sense. He didn't really care about getting a misdemeanor when he thought they decided not to take his license after the 180 day statute of limitations. So when 180+ days past he said I dont really care if this conviction stands as long as I'm not losing my license so he dropped it. Then it sounds like azgfd came in after the 180 days and gave him notice of the revocation. Thats where I dont understand why he didnt fight it more. I dont know the details of that part but seems like it should be clear cut if they missed their 180 day period. But courts seem to give law enforcement a lot of leeway and make exceptions for them quite often.

Not a knife expert but google found this about it. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1870335970/vintage-shapleigh-meat-cleaver-old?show_sold_out_detail=1&ref=nla_listing_details

No, theres definitely a bonus pass tag for hunts with 5 tags. I can see antelope hunts with 2 tags that have a bonus pass tag in the draw reports. Only ones that dont have a bonus pass tag are hunts with 1 tag in last year's report.
-
Wouldn't tag #1 go to bonus pass?

If people would read the law you would see lion season does not count. And it doesnt matter if you have a tag or not. It's just if there is an open season.

Ill leave you to supporting poachers and when your argument loses, you randomly start calling people dip sticks and poachers. Have a good one 🫡
-
What in the world are you talking about? Now you're saying Koury is a poacher but what happened to him is BS? Which one is it?
-
Are we on the same planet here? There is no emotion involved in anyone's argument but yours. He broke the law, got caught, was convicted and then was on the azgfd agenda to lose his license for like four months straight and then it disappeared. You were the first one in this thread to claim what happened to him is BS and it's just government overreach. Children could understand this. No need for anyone to be law school educated to understand how the law works. I didn't start this thread and you have made just as much of an argument for what he did being ok as I have saying it isn't ok (along with 99% of everyone else on this thread)
-
The essence of the conversation is an outfitter blatantly broke the law and got caught. Literally as clear cut as it gets. Now you can bring in random emotional based arguments to try and justify it because you have a weird hard on for Koury but the facts remain.
-
We're not talking about self worth. We're talking about raising law abiding citizens. Not ones that learned from their dad they can ignore a law if they don't like it. Holding someone accountable for breaking the law is far from tearing others down.

Guess I shouldn't have made fun of flatlander for reading comprehension. That makes more sense. I thought he was flying in early August but if he was flying within 48 hours of his hunt that just solidifies what he was doing.
