How bad do you want one? https://www.ebay.com/itm/285531264901?itmmeta=01HVYJBYNTFNFYTRQTXQXC4WR8&hash=item427afd5785:g:WhAAAOSwtBxlOREd&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8ERyMJbhDtvdaJS7Ld%2F2pwp2Ya9D6n2Ltnxp4ZqQ8AWGTGKgw81%2BGhI6YknwiI7euWqg45mEZ5ZKuRRPqXE0MJjNPb69VzYzCCBnfsoqMMtvc8Ks5p7pd4%2FKhQBaqjEEq9oCz%2BsiZFBJedUZqo0jKOw2GavIn3kCLnhvtQ%2FCqqTRQPuw1Ft42FFux86lXAPp58Ye6KNsgOiOsKBEsCrYgXgjgI8UNhzXvZQuFIoD%2BdWNuxFYrDF3iRhRdTo8QaXSp%2Br4%2Fu%2F9Mmfdu8c1thq4%2FmZtHpnu6RQ%2BOpVPaaLfQL8FV8xaavf54OCT9v1Tp6Cn1Q%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR_rqr9LfYw -
Since all of 4b is north of 260, better stick to north of 260 lol. Try the 210/122 road area.

That's why my post appropriately has the words may not in it. His odds of not ever drawing the tag are exponentially higher than him ever drawing the tag.
-
If you're going for 5b (the hardest hunt in the state to draw) you may not ever draw it if you only have 27 points.
-
I know it freaks the birds out thinking it's suddenly getting dark. That's about all I know though.
-
Sadly, several people I know are having the same issues. Multiple lions and deer of friends and cant get a response from them. I've heard of one guy that went by and got all his stuff a year ago and he said it was looking empty in the shop. Someone needs to head down there and see what's going on.
-
Anyone know if they are having it this year? It's usually right about now but there is nothing on their website about it.
-
So you're just gonna ignore the fact that they posted the numbers of roughly how much they will lose off the sheep, elk, and deer and the fact that they will make MORE money off of every other animal and pull a random $1,000,000 guess of loss of revenue out of your as$? They explained that they can make it where the raffle tags can be sold out of state. There might be a small loss of revenue but it won't be significant. Better to make a little less money than let Jimmy John buy the best tags on the planet every year.
-
There were two auction and one raffle per species. Next year is two raffle and one auction and in 2026 all three are raffle.
-
The raffle revenue didn't drop "precipitously". It dropped, but not much. Most likely more due to the out of staters not being able to buy them. They discussed the ability to try and get it back to allowing all the states that can legally participate. That would help offset any drops in revenue. There also wasn't DEEP decreases in revenue from deer, elk, and sheep. Yes there was a drop but nothing that's gonna cause some severe problems. In the end, money isn't the only thing that's important. Chances to hunt an animal should be fair and available to everyone.
-
That's exactly why they got rid of them. The north American model of wildlife doesn't allow rich people to have more of a chance to hunt an animal than a poor person. And overall, with raffles there won't be a ton of difference in money made.
-
They laid out a pretty good estimate of how much the raffles will bring in using past numbers. For all animals but elk, sheep, and mule deer raffles make more money than the auction and for the big three auctions make more but it wasn't a ton more. They also talked about there being a way to switch it back to allowing out of staters to buy tickets. All in all the overall amount of money from auctions doesn't make that much more than raffles so the way I see it, let an average guy have a chance at a once in a lifetime tag instead of the millionaires that can go on any hunt they want in the world every single year.
-
The commission got rid of the auction tags this morning. They are allowing them for one more year and as of 2026 they won't be allowed. Raffle only after that. They showed the loss of money wouldn't be substantial by just having raffles vs auctions. A big point they made was something like 36% of all auction tags had been purchased by the same 3 or 5 people and how that doesn't fit the North American Model.

Points are updated
-
That's wild that a 3c tag now takes 16 points.
-
I'll be the first to say that javelina should not be on the list of animals that you should have to take the meat out of the field in the first place. Props to them for taking what they did take.
-
How many points did you have?
-
3c deer are getting replaced with horses. Elk as well. Give it 5-7 years and 3c is completely toast. Supposedly they are going to start removing horses soon but I'll believe it when I see it.
-
Seriously? That's sad. All field days I've ever seen were .22's. Might as well just allow just the online portion if they're only letting you shoot a bb gun.
-
The online portion isn't the problem. Kids can take the az online course any day they please. The ethically hunting az class is just another online type hunter safety that is specifically made for adults so taking both wouldn't really accomplish much. The problem lies in the thousands of kids that have taken the online portion and then there being 50 field day spots that year. (And half of those spots seems to be in weird places like Gallup NM or something crazy)

You accidently put in for cow. .
