Last year it was done at like 6am. They're slacking this year.

Definitely will be today just hasn't started yet. Hits have always come the day directly after update deadline so no reason it shouldn't be the same this draw. Only time it didn't was a few elk draws ago and they had to do another card update deadline.

Well they haven't started yet so not much to talk about. . .

98% of hits are first day before 8am. After that you just got lucky someones card got rejected.

They deserve 99% of the recognition for killing that lion. Why be ashamed of how you hunt? He wasn't ashamed of trying to get the attention on himself for killing the viscious neighborhood man eater that probably ate atleast 12 babies that day.

There was a video on their fb page that said it was strictly because of laws regarding raffles and buying raffle tickets across state lines. I have a feeling they added that rule with no intention, or maybe not even the ability, to check and see if the tickets were purchased in AZ. But their butts will be covered. I like it due to the fact that it will help the odds of az residents drawing.

They won't because all those deer hunts that started on thr 21st last year will now start on the 27th.

Man this whole hunts bumping back a week is really jacking with people. Every 5-6 years all hunts get bumped back a week. Has always happened and will continue to happen. If it didn't you'd eventually be having archery elk hunts in July and rifle deer hunts in September.

You said it yourself. You find out you drew (in this case 8 months prior) and its in the back of your mind after that. I've heard of several over the years. Usually weekend warrior type guys that don't really hunt much but put in every now and then. The hunt isn't anything exciting or special to them and they may go out for a day or two opening weekend and drink some beer and go home. People forget dates of things a lot more important than a Dec 23 cow tag so I don't see how it's that mind blowing.

Pretty simple. They got the dates mixed up. I've known several people that have gotten dates mixed up and missed hunts. A Dec 23 cow tag isn't exactly on the top of the list of most important things going on in most people's lives.

Happens every 5-6 years due to the calendar changing. All hunts are set to start on specific weeks of the year. Example: late elk to start on the 48th Friday of the year. (No idea if that's the correct week) As the calendar moves around from year to year with a leap year or two eventually the hunts bump back. I think the last time it bumped back like this was 2017.

Pay lots of $$$$$. Most of the best ranches are already taken or you pay top dollar to hunt them.
