I hunted 36b a couple years and had a great time seeing a lot of deer down there. Two years ago, after I had filled my tag, my dad and brothers saw seven illegals with their hay bail sized marijuana packs heading north up the same canyon I'd packed my deer out of the previous day. That pretty much ended the southern unit hunting for us. A few years ago I spoke with a Colombian judge who said he couldn't go the mountains to fish for trout because of the danger down there. I told him I couldn't imagine living in a country like that. Unfortunately, now I can. To those of you who continue to hunt down there, be safe.

Super buck! Almost makes a guy think about hunting karp.

Looks like it was a great day on the lake. Those are some good looking fish.

+1 for the Nikon Buckmaster with BDC reticle. Pretty hard to beat that scope for the money.

I've seen illegals in all parts of 36B, including some very remote areas where I never thought they would be. After a near miss with several marijuana bail packing mules last year in a fairly remote canyon, we decided it was time to hunt a different unit. It was a relief to hunt this year without wondering how many eyes were watching us or what we might see around the next bend. That's a great unit for quality deer, but at the end of the day it's all about making it home safely. Good luck and be safe.

Thanks for the great photos. That water is well used. I think it's the same bull also. -
I took a deer in 36B last year in a remote canyon near where AZPACKHORSE snapped his photos. I didn't see the typical trash so I figured it must be too remote for the illegals to travel through. But two days later when my dad and brothers went back to hunt the area, they saw in the same canyon seven "backpackers" carrying the same type of goods as in the above photos. Fortunately, the backpackers didn't see them. We're hunting a northern unit this year. I personally wouldn't hunt alone near the border, but to each his or her own.

Might be a tough hunt. I've seen a few mulies in the lower elevations south of the Pinals around the Dripping Springs Road area.

Thanks for sharing the pics. Looks like a few nice mulies and a shooter lope. -
Thanks for the post and the pics. My daughter is two weeks old today and I can't wait to pack her around looking for a grey ghost. Not a bad first pick up!

How, where to go when G&F err on your applications?
liv4coues replied to SilentButDeadly's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
When I saw this thread, I thought you might be adding your story to it Jimmer! I felt your pain a few years back when my brother forgot to sign his part of the app. Needless to say, I've taken charge of the apps. since then. It'll all feel better when your deer tag comes . . . that is if G&F ever gets around to getting the results out. -
Is that some type of blemish on his main beam or just an issue issue with the photo?

Nice work with the SP101. You know you're a redneck when . . . you're looking forward to your rattle snake pasta Sunday dinner. Enjoy the vittles!

Nice looking set of brownies!

Looks like he's on his way to becoming a bruiser! Good luck with him this year.

Nice pics of a good variety of critters at that spot. That Karp might be worth pursuing with a bow.
