    Any credit card hits?

Either myself or my daughter drew a Gould's tag. One way or another it will be her hunt, I'll gladly sign it over to her if she didn't draw. Already looking forward to it!

    Vortex Optics: A Question

I have three viper scopes from the base viper to the pst and have had zero problems. I have a pair of the 12x50 HD's and love them, also an older skyline spoter with zero problems. I have the ranger 1000 range finder with zero problems. I have a couple friends that have had the exact opposite though with both rifle scopes and the range finders so I'm not 100% sure where I stand. For my experience I've been 100% satisfied but also seen my friends get so frustrated with theirs they got rid of all of their vortex stuff and never looked back. The lack of consistency is definitely something to consider when I need to make my next purchase and think it is worth noting.

    Dad gets it done.

My father was able to take this buck opening morning. It was a great family hunt. Even better was getting it done early. My dad recently had replacement knee surgery and wasn't able to kneel or sit so after waiting for the buck to stand my father couldn't take it anymore and took the only available shot he had. Hit him square in the jaw which obviously got him up. The follow up was a perfect heart shot at 367 yards. Way to go dad!

Getting it done at 92 years old!

Now that I am starting to get somewhat caught up at work and have everything cleaned and put away I thought I would share some pictures of my grandfather's early archery bull. From my earliest memories my grandpa has been teaching me the In's and outs of the great outdoors and he is my true life hero. If I am half the man he is at his age I will be extremely lucky. He has accomplished so much in his life from being the first professional basketball player to come from the state of Arizona to coaching and teaching the vast majority of the Verde Valley boys to raising two great daughters to being one heck of an awesome grandpa! I am extremely proud of him (if you can't tell) and also extremely happy that he was able to take this fine bull on the 9th day of the hunt. He had some help from some very good friends and I can't thank them enough for being there for him when I couldn't (a huge thank you for Bill Rudolph who was there every step of the way)! They arrived in camp almost two weeks before the season started and put in some serious scouting. They chased bugles and bulls every day and even passed some bulls that just didn't fit the bill. On the evening of the 9th day it all came together and grandpa made short work of the 35 yard shot. Great job Pop!
