Keep after it and keep us posted!

Great bird Houston and awesome pictures, the video is priceless. Takes a heck of a man to post that but sure happy you did. Great times right there, the glove and dropping the shell keeps me laughing.

Assuming you're looking for out of state? I highly recommend Mike McKinny with West Texas Hunt Organization and I agree on the Axis being some of the best meat out there.

That is quite the run she's had so far! Congratulations to her on a beautiful bird and way to go on getting another young hunter started.

Congratulations and good luck on the second leg of the hunt.

That looks like a great time. Congratulations on a sweet bird. Way to not let the cold weather get you down. Awesome having the entire family involved.

That's too cool right there, congratulations to him on a great gobbler.

Bummer on your first set up and way to adapt and make it work. Congratulations on the nice gobbler and heck of a shot.

Congrats to all, love the pictures of all your birds. Not able to make it over this year but will try again next.

Now that looks like a ton of fun! Great job on the pictures and congratulations on the success. Are you going to be putting together another video? Loved the last one so I hope so. Good luck on the rest of the hunts you're helping out on. Love this time of year.

Stick with it Ike and nail that longbeard. Happy to hear they are still working. Good luck!

Jaycie and I set out early Thursday morning for a 13.5 hour drive to Del Rio, Texas. About noon on Friday I was able to take this nice Mouflon cross ram. We then kicked it into high gear and drove up to Sonora. Within a couple hours I was able to draw seven hens in and this Longbeard was following them up. Jaycie dropped him mid strut. The birds aren't gobbling much but we are having good luck calling in the hens. We are giving it heck to get one more before the long drive home.

Thanks everybody! We couldn't make it happen on another gobbler but she did pass on nine different jakes. Here is a short video I put together.

New to hunting these birds and have ??????'s

I agree with everything above and will add that a gobbler lounger or something similar really helps for sitting comfort. Also if the weather warms up the bugs can be a huge distraction and cause for unwanted movement so take a thermacell or bug spray. Get ready for the addiction and good luck. -
Very cool! Congratulations to him.

Some mighty fine critters there and amazing job on the mounts. Congratulations to you!

I can't believe the time has almost come to load up and head to Florida this weekend for the South Zone Youth Hunt. With a little luck my daughter Jaycie will be pulling down on a big ole Osceola come Saturday morning. She has practiced her butt off with her 20 gauge turkey slayer I built and she is definitely confident in her equipment. After Florida we head to Texas to chase Rio's and finish up in Arzona with a Merriam's tag in her pocket. If things go well she'll only lack an Eastern to complete her Royal Slam. I will do my best to update this thread as the adventures unfold. Flying high on anticipation and excitement! Nothing better than hunting with your kids. trim.D9D41D7F-8892-4481-998A-0D06A757E448.MOV
