2006-2007 COUES WHITETAIL BUCK CONTEST
cramerhunts replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Sent a PM to you to Doug to enter the contest and also I will be donating some knives, multitools, and water bottels for prizes. Thanks for getting a contest together again and all your hard work. Phil -
For a December tag I would spend some time in the Dos Cabezas. The access is tough but without very many tags for that hunt you could do really good, just try and avoid the Klumps.

More D, The broadheads aren't bad for the price (19.99 for six) and they shot really close to the same as the thunder heads that I normally shoot. The spin seems to be good but I have a slight problem with them planing or rising on the shorter distances, a few more practice and tuning sessions and I think they will be well worth the money.

Universal trail camera kit
cramerhunts replied to Big Browns's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
I have two that a buddy made for me from the pixcontroller kit with the olympus 360's and one with the same kit and camera that I put together myself. They work great and take good pictures as long as you are fairly selective in the set up so you don't end up with a lot of landscape pictures from grass or trees blowing around once the sun has warmed them up. They are pretty easy to set up and get going since they are indeed plug and play cameras. A few solders on the circuit board and a couple of well placed holes in the case and you are up and running. I do suggest going with the pelican 1060 case instead of either of the two cases offered on pixcontroller.com because of space taken up with the camera, board, and battery. You can pick one up on cases4less.com. As for the camera being hard to find you can still get them off of e-bay pretty cheap. Good luck, Phil -
By Sunday I couldn't take it anymore and decided to brave the crowds. I can't wait for them to die down some so I can look around and really see what I am looking at instead of looking to get out of some one's way. I thought the store was awesome and ended up getting a set of the cabelas f3 broadheads to try out. Since I work about 3 minutes from the store I am sure it will be a frequent stop on my way home.

Congrats Manny on your draw! I would love to have that 9 tag. My father and I both drew 30A Nov. coues and my wife drew 30A muley second hunt, skunked on everything else. Phil

Craig, Cochise Co. has been getting some really good rain but it is really hit and miss. The southern end has seen some good moisture early on and the Dos has had it's share of rain as well but more recently. I have seen a fair amount of quail with good size hatches but not quite as many as last year. I will be getting the trail cameras up in a couple of weeks so hopefully will have a better idea for horn growth. So far the growth seems to be good but not at all what it was last year. Good Luck. Phil

I have two pending charges of 19.50 so there is at least two deer tags coming, question is which two. (I put my wife, my nephew, and myself in) Do you think there will be more charges to come or is that it?

Happy Birthday Firstcoueswas80
cramerhunts replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Have a great day Casey and hopefully you can score on that late tag for a cool b-day present just a little late. -
I still shoot the NAP thunder heads..two bull elk, two mule deer, one coues, and numerous pigs without any problems. The only thing is that I have two different settings for my sights (one for field tips and one for broadheads).

Welcome to the site. I think you will be hooked on the site almost as much as you are on the hunting.

Kachina Bulls
cramerhunts replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Thanks for posting the pictures, I haven't seen the bulls in a few years. My sister used to own the A-frame house on the west side of the meadow and I always found an excuse to visit so I could play with them. Phil -
Out at Estrella Mountain we got hit starting around 1:00 and it was still raining when I left at 6:00, a little under an inch when I left.
