October Coues: Finally broke into 100" club!
palivs2hnt posted a topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I went into this year planning on passing on the smaller bucks I always tend to shoot. I passed on close to 20 bucks before finding mine on the second day of the hunt. Glassed him up in a cut I had been wanting to check out. He was up feeding at 2pm with a smaller 3x3. I knew right away that I liked him! 505 yards on the range finder. I laid prone, dialed the vortex PST to 500 yards, made sure my good hunting buddy Kevin (who had killed a decent 3x3 the day before) was on him and let the 300 WSM 168g Berger drop him in his tracks! Super excited about his character and already itching to get back out with the bow in January. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Grateful for a great website like this one to share on! -
It turned out good Sean! Congrats to your boy!

I'm in 23 for the late hunt. We took a phenomenal bull there last year, hoping to tag another this year. -
Way to go Draysen and Sean! Great buck for a well deserving young man! Congrats!

Chompy, I will reply for huntjunkie as he is elk hunting in NM. He loved the binos, but wants to get some 15's instead. I sent him with my Duovids on his elk hunt trying to talk him into those! You're right though, those Vortex 12's are sensational glass!

Great job Braedon and Houston! Can't believe he's flinging arrows already...you're getting old brother! Congrats! Justin

Darn Tough Socks Gear Review
palivs2hnt replied to Jay Scott's topic in Jay Scott Outdoors/Colburn and Scott Outfitters
Thanks for the review! I'm looking forward to trying them out. I consider myself a good hunting partner, but you're not going to find me smelling my partners socks after 3 days of wear!! Way too nice Jay! -
Thanks for the kind words TJ! I enjoyed meeting you years ago as well and have since always looked forward to your posts on this site. Stan and I have been good friends for years. When he told me that his daughter drew that hunt, I knew that I had to be there with them. He is a great Father, works hard to prepare for hunts and makes sure that his Daughters understand the ethical aspects of hunting. As we prepared for this hunt, we knew there were great bulls in the area and our hopes were high. I truly was blessed to be on this hunt with such a great family. For sure a hunt I will never forget!
