It was great to meet you too Justin. You should talk Kevin in to smiling more in his photos -Jeremy- Man...I have been telling Kevin that for years! Every picture I've taken of that joker over the years is with the same smirk on his face. At least it's not as bad as Christians (azcouesandelk)! Just kidding man...I wish I was half the hunter you are! Jeremy, it was great to meet you as well. Thanks again for all the help. I'll get my elk pictures up soon.

I was lucky enough to draw an early Southern Arizona hunt this year with a good buddy of mine. Hunt started with the arrival at camp on Thursday night and a very early morning opening day. We had planned to go into an area we had spent a considerable amount of time scouting with some really good prospects. We were at the glassing spot before sun-up, started to see good deer, then we also started to spot hunters on every ridge. Before you know it, shots were ringing out everywhere and the deer were running around like pinballs from hunter to hunter. Needless to say, we backed out of there and checked some other previously scouted locations with a few bucks spotted opening evening but nothing going down. Saturday morning found us glassing a different mountain range further from roads with much more country/less hunters visualized. We spotted a good buck within the first 5 min of glassing light already heading to bedding ground. We planned the routes to different shooting points above the buck and went our separate ways. On my way to my designated location, I came across several doe and a small 2x2 and decided to pass on him at about 80 yards. Topping over the ridge I noticed a group of deer on an east facing slope, the middle one being my buck. I ranged him at 180 yards and set the shooting sticks up and dropped him in his tracks. He then proceeded to tumble end over end down the steep hill approx 15-20 yards or so coming to rest in a bush. I got the call after my buck was down that the morning buck had been located with another smaller buck bedded at about 275 yards for my buddy who was able to close the deal on his buck. He will post better pics and his story when he can. I only have this pic of his larger buck with him holding the head in his arm. It ended up being a sensational hunt with 2 bucks taken a couple hours apart on the same mountain with great friends and family. Gotta love these coues! Sorry about the long story. Justin
