I was planning on sitting on some water for the hunt this up coming weekend. i was just wondering what anyone's thought in this was. has anyone had any success sitting water during the late hunt? the area i was gonna hunt is primarily mulie country, just wondering if it is worth my effort or should i just stick to spott and stock? any imput would help and be greatly appreciated.

just one more question after reading this story. i was gonna hunt from the afternoon into the evening but it sounds like this guy killed his buck in the morning. what do you guys think is the best time to sit water during the late hunt? btw i really appreciate the advise! (relitivly new to bowhunting and really cherish any advise i getso thanks!)

to hunt an animal that is found only in my backyard and nowhere else on earth is kind of exiciting for me.

unless there is alot of snow there is usually cows stillin the pines until late dec. but you never know.

i heard a rumor today that a bull that would shatter the p&y record was taken in 10. just wondering if any one has heard anything substancial, i just heard it from my brother who heard it from a freind who's wife heard it from someone and so on.

nikon pro-staff seems to work great for me.

where are you planing on hunting? there isn't a whole lot of elk up around hear, and i havn't heard anything bugling, and i usually don't. i live in the prescott area btw. what unit is her tag good for, and i might be able to give you some pointers.

just wondering if anyone had any good javalina recipes. i just have a personal rule that i won't hunt anything that i won't ENJOY eating, but was thinking about putting in for a spring pig hunt. so any opinions or help would be greatly appreciated.

this is insane!!! i knew there would be some monsters taken this year but a 117 AND a 122 on opening day!!! this is amazing. good work guys. me personaly, i'm working on just finding a buck, then i'll work on putting an arrow in him.

my buddy went up to do some scouting on saturday, checked both of our camaras in two diffrent areas, and both of our camaras had the cards taken from them. they had to cut off a stinkin' bolt to get to his and they still did it! at least they only took the cards and not the whole set up, but it still pisses me off all that time, money, and efort is kinda waisted now cause we dont know whats coming into our areas. i'm not very happy right now.

went up to check my camara this morning and to my surprise it wasnt stolen! it was loaded with pics mostly skunks and rabits but also alot of bear elk and couse which is awsome and makes me happy inside. here are some of the pics. I know this is a ton of pics to post at one time, but im seriously stoked!!!! ive never had so many good pics from a trail cam before, and definatly never had any bear. so you'll just have to deal with so many pics. ;)it also seems the bear liked to play with my camera every time he passed buy and that is what accounts for all the differant angled shots. I also saw this guy this morning, again im not a great feild judge but he looked big to me.

you didnt happen to see any suspicious characters that might have swiped my sd card? and how many stands did you run into? my buddy and me have our two stands hagging up on two tanks in the area and there is a stinkin' old stand up at my tank, but it had no ladder to it and looks like its been up for 10 years or so. i wouldnt want to get up in it. just curious cause i was gonna hunt that area opening weekend but will change my game plan if there are a hundred other stands in the area. We saw the 2 stands at that particular tank, guy in a white truck with Broncos sticker (won't hold that against him) coming out of there. Couple other stands in nearby area at other tanks or guzzlers, pretty much everywhere we went, stands or cameras... the guy in the white truck was my buddy who also had his card ripped off his cam, although the broncos sticker does denote a certain lack of morals, he's the one who discovered our cards were jacked. thnx for your help though.

your experiences are interesting. i had a camara on an established water hole for the last half of july and the begining of aug. and had deer coming in all the time despite there being plenty of rain in the area. not that you guys are wrong or anything, cause in all reality i think you guys are right and my pics were more of exception than a rule. but it was just an observation i made.

this trail cam theft is really becoming an epademic.

i wouldnt chance it. those game and fish r like the stinking cia or something, they will litterally start repelling down from the trees the moment the arrow leaves the bow.

the bear was coming in almost every other day, but unfortinately this unit doesnt have a bear hunt till oct. it seemed that the deer were also coming in every other day except for a stretch of five days, but that was also the during one of the times the bear messed up my camara and so it wasnt catching the whole tank just a small portion of it, so who knows. regardless i'm getting REALLY stoked for archery season, and will probably be buying a bear tag somewhere around oct. 3rd!
