    Lost elk tag

I've done this a couple times for draw hunts. Walmart can do it no problem. You just have to sign the affidavit saying that you had the tag. It doesn't matter if it's a draw hunt.

    Scouting pics

So I've been putting the boots to the dirt trying to get to know my unit for my upcoming rifle muley tag. Been out 5 times now and I'm starting to get on some decent bucks. Figured I would share some pics from my scouting trips. Found a couple bulls on one of my trips. Nothing crazy good but this rag horn and a small 5x5. Normally I wouldn't care all that much about seeing these elk but this is an area that traditionally holds very few elk so to see some was pretty neat. Didn't see any deer though. Went out this morning to an area that I had been in before. I knew this area holds a fair amount of deer but had yet to see any deer. Sign everywhere but no deer. Well this time was different. Glassed up this deer just after sunup. He's only a 3x4 but seems supper tall! (Sorry about the pic quality as they where through my spotting scope, completely zoomed in, then later zoomed in again digitally to make out the deer) This deer was also with a nice 4x5 with what looked like a 6" dropper on his left! Granted he wasn't a super big buck, maybe 150" or so, but any buck with a drop tine is a stud buck in my opinion! I tried my dagumedest but couldn't get a pic of that buck to save my life so you'll just have to take my word for it. In reality too, maybe it could've been velvet starting to come off and not a drop tine but it seems a little early for that and it really looked like a drop tine. What are your thoughts? Is it too early for them to be shedding velvet? Or am I just seeing some hanging velvet and making it into a dropper? Anyway, I'm super stoked to come across these bucks as both will be my biggest deer by far. Thnx for reading!

    19b help

So I'm looking for some help for my upcoming hunt in 19b. So far I've kinda narrowed it down to hunting either the black mesa area or the yavapai portion of the juniper mountains. Anyone on here have this hunt in the past that has any thoughts to share? Maybe the kind of pressure I can expect from other hunters in those areas? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Secret spots and honey holes are highly encouraged!😜 I'm more than happy to send over info on 19a, 20a, or 8 if anyone needs it. Thnx!

    Unit choice?

Your best bet outside the strip or kaibab are the units closest to home. There are good deer to be found all over this state and the best unit is the one you can spend the most time learning.

    Protecting an elk mount

I am going to have to put my house on the market with in the next couple weeks. This means my most prized possession, my elk mount 😄, will have to go into storage until I find a new place. Does any body have any experience storing an elk mount? My plan as of right now is to wrap it in plastic and tape the seams. Any other suggestions? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Mature buck or freak?

both are awesome bucks imo. the 6x2 is unique buck that i would shoot/mount in a heart beat. if those deer are south of the ditch, they are both awesome bucks.

Sroked! Drew unit 8 late rifle Bull! Advice?

contrary to popular belief late 8 can rock if you do your home work. ive had that hunt twice and tagged out both times the second with a 325 bull and ive seen even bigger bulls just before the hunts. things can change year to year so get up there and do your home work. it can get a little crowded at times so make sure you have a couple back up plans. if your not picky and work hard then you should both have no problem tagging out.

    GoPro

i would think the head mount would be the way to go. that way you could capture the entire stalk, shot and anything after. where as with the bow mount at you may not have the best video during the stalk/call in and probably wouldnt get much after you let your bow down after the shot. just my two cents

    Unit 8 for deer

I like unit 8 alot for elk. Deer is a tough hunt in there. Mulies are really all over in there, both in the junipers and pines. Coues tend to be concentrated on the rim areas. Both are tough hunts. Lots of pressure during the mulie hunt. Not alot of coues and there in some nasty country. There are some big deer in there though, just have to work to find them. If you end up drawing either of these hunts, pm me and i will point you in the right direction.

    Unit 10 map

So i drew a late rifle bull hunt in nit 10! Super excited! Heres the deal though, i know nothing about this unit. If anyone wants to give me thier secret spots, i would be more than happy to hear them ........but seriously though, does anyone here know where i can get a good map of the unit? Ive got a map that is pretty good for the national forest portion of the unit but that is a small portion of the unit. Any help would be appreciated !
