It depends on how the meat is packaged, but I'd say you'll be close. You can fit a good-sized cow elk in a 150 quart cooler but not much room for ice. It was quartered, so probably 150ish lbs of meat. You might want to bring an extra 60 quart or so just in case. It's definitely big enough for an entire deer. Another tip is to duct-tape the lid down expect for a small vent, so it holds in as much cold as possible. Don't want it air-tight or it'll pop itself. Dry ice also releases C02, so you'll want to be careful about that if it's in an enclosed space like a car.

Went to Lake Mary spillway today for a class project, Lower Mary is completely full, bank to bank, and more still flowing in. Good for recharging the aquifer around Flag. I wonder how long the water will hang around for. Lower Lake has a porous limestone bedrock.

I probably ran into you at some point 😂. I had a little buck walk right in front of me while I was literally taking a rest on (unbeknownst to me at the time) the AZT. Couldn't figure out why there were so many dang hikers. Finally looked at it on OnX and figured it out...

what time of year do you fish it? that might have some say in it as well, although I have no idea personally, haven't made my way up there yet.

Wow, that's a lot. We only got a light dusting in Flag.

Dusty is a honest seller. I received the tripod today, and he was very quick to respond. Add him to the good guy list if he isnt already

I'll take it. PM inbound

they should definitely allow CCW permit-holding teachers to carry at school. Absolutely no reason why a card-carrying person cant or shouldn't be able to defend their classes from these nutjobs instead of waiting for the police to do it for them.

that's correct. I can only speak for the Ethically Hunting Arizona Course, but all you get is an email certifying you completed it and that you're awarded a lifetime bonus point. For juniors they still need to complete an in-person training day.

lion attacks seem to be on the rise all over the west. I just heard about an attack in Colorado where one attacked a man in his hot tub

They can't. But, if you admit you didn't they'll void the warranty. Just warning people

I'm in town at one of the apartments. College student life. Lol.

howdy neighbor. Nice rifle. Make sure if you end up keeping it (or any other Christensens) to follow their "break-in process" or your warranty is voided. GLWS

The short answer is no. I'd do your original plan. Call GFD in a week or two and figure out how to get a Resident License for the June draw.

Welp, OTC deer hunting for me. No elk or speedgoat. Congrats to all who drew! I believe they're showing results on the E-tag app for what unit, tag # etc. Should hit the portal today or tomorrow.

Hey y'all, First time poster, but I've been lurking for a while now. I'm much more active on another Arizona hunting forum but this site is great as well. I haven't hunted coues deer yet, but I've been doing a lot of hunting in N. AZ and I've decided that now is the time to up my glassing game, especially if I want to get into coues hunting in the future. Currently I've got some Leupold 10x42 BX-2 Alpine binoculars, not great but serviceable until I can save for Swaros. What's a good tripod that can support binoculars and a 65mm spotting scope for around or under $250? I know you "get what you pay for" but unfortunately I can't afford the "best of the best" right now, being a college student and saving for an engagement ring for a special lady. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated

You sound bitter to me too lol. Be happy for others, odds are your chances were low anyways
-
Well, did anyone get hit yet? Nada for me, as usual. Lol.

AZGFD just announced the CC update deadline and final purchase for Pointguard is March 6th 2023. That makes the over/under for March 7th a losing proposition for anyone who said under, lol.

Yeah, those M70's are heavy for sure. Solid rifles though, especially the pre-64's like yours.

I don't own a Swaro (or vortex optics, lol) personally, but my close friend has a Swaro Z5 3.5-18x44 and that thing on his rifle is a laserpointer. The quick adjust turret points are very nice, they're color coded. He has them set to 200, 300, and 400, and then has his dopes in a book for adjustments farther than that. he can adjust from 100-400 yards in a matter of a second or two, very handy for hunting.

Beauty of a rifle. However, wood stock and light don't generally go together. GLWS

They probably used international notation. So February 9th would be 9-2-2023
