I really thing it is a personal choice...I started with the matrix but on a experiment I tried the spot-hoggs... and I personally thing the spot-hogg is a better sight for me. J

Everytime I see this thread I am amazed... Those look like some mangy critters... If elk are true grazers they must be in VERY marginal habitat... poor little elk... RR Thanks for the info.. Have you seen the RV park? Is it decent? I think we might try that the first night so we don't have to worry about finding a spot in the evening then after we shot we will go find a nice place... Do you or anybody have any more places to look on the NF? thanks jason

What ever you use make sure you wash it periodically.

Hey Everybody... It looks like we will be going on a Coues deer hunt in Mexico next year... I am in the process of getting my Sako ready to rumble... I usually hunt with a Bow and it seems alot has changed since I last hunted with a rifle.... I currently have a Leupold Vari-II 3x9 and I am thinking about turrets... Can I get them to fit my scope? Who makes them? I think the idea of turrets is great because it removes the guess work. I have done a search and there is some good info but I am looking for anything else someone might want to add.. thanks Jason

RR... I have that link bookmarked... Today I went down to Sportsman Warehouse and they had the scope but they were NO HELP.... Let me see if I understand the way this thing works... You zero it in they you use the numbers on the turrets to calculate drop.... In other words.. I would zero my rifle in at two hundred then is my bullet falls 4 inches at 300 then I just dial in the 4 inch drop? Jason

If you guys are serious I have some friends in the area that usually get tags... THEY ARE HIGH DOLLAR... I have hunted 13 a few times for elk... There are very few elk but tons of deer... BUT the elk in 13 are big...

Oh I see it... but I am sure the margin of error is well about 6%..... I would say it is a wash.... But personally I don't think people like Cho should be able to legitimately purchase guns... That is just my opinion... Like cochranj said... it is a tough call as to who can have guns.... about the fox poll.. I am pretty sure it was anti-gun because there was a buzz about it... the buzz is that foxnews is pretty right wing so everybody was surprised.... j-
