Keep the faith. I had 7 points and drew 6a this year. I think it was tag 76. With all of the hunters putting in its getting tougher and tougher. I'm afraid this may be my last elk hunt.

Hello All It's been 7 years but I finally drew a 6a archery bull tag. Any guidance? I'm will to scout hard and hunt the full time if necessary.

Yeah. I've gathered as much. I think anything that looks 300 from opening morning on is a keeper. Thanks for confirming. I've hunted 5B for years. Maybe I should have held out for a 5B tag. Thank you

Thank you. I was planning on focusing on the North east section but I will at least spend 1 weekend in the southeast and we will see. Its really kind of funny. 10 years ago elk hunters helped each other out but now there seem to be a disproportionate number of assholes who really want to give there useless opinion or make some "funny/witty" comment. I appreciate your heads up..... oops. Did I say that out loud?

Yeah that is my fear.. I also hear that because of all the pressure even when they are bugling they stop about 8AM. I just need a few good general areas that I can scout and then plan on spending a lot of time in the field away from the roads.

I will scout around Mormon lake. East of monmon lake is 5B. I'm assuming that was a joke. Isn't it going to probably still be too ward for the southern part of the unit? Do you mean like the rattlesnake area?
