Quail hunting one time and came across a baby, it was real hard to not pick it up and take it home. Would have fit in a pocket. Second, I volunteered with G&F a few years back with their tortoise study. They had tortoises with radio's glued to their backs. I was shocked how many there were. In a square mile we had like 10-20. They would send us out in groups with a tracker. We would find one, put it in a bag and take it back to the cars. While we were walking back to the cars, the others would proceed to find the next one.

Thanks for the advice, I like the idea of helping a November hunter. Since this will be my only chance to take a sheep I should probably go with a guide. Any recommendations? How do I know someone is reputable?

I have a Greener trap gun I got from my father, it does not eject spent shells. He never got it working correctly. Anybody recommend a good shotgun smith?

Last week, I figured I didn't get drawn so after a few days I decided to check my credit card. There was a hit for $300. I literally sat there for a few minutes in disbelief....oh...oh....as I frantically search for the regs to check pricing to confirm. Sure enough its a sheep tag. Then all the talk about cc hits being taken away, add that which unit I got. I didn't dwell on it too much(as if I couldn't), started to tell some people that I may have a sheep tag. I just logged on my portal, sure enough. My first choice was 45c, Kofa National Wildlife refuge. I have tag #4 for the December hunt. I have always assumed it would take forever to get drawn, for the first 10 years or so I probably put in for 22 and 24b, until I realized that was never going to happen in my lifetime. So I would listen to various podcasts and randomly put in for units. This year I put in for Kofa due to the tag number, I figured it would help my odds. I had 19 bonus points. But still thought it wouldn't happen till I had 25-30 bonus points. I am at a loss of words, I am very excited but already feel overwhelmed and unprepared. My first thought was to post here to start getting some feedback. I'll go get some maps this week. I did a search on hike az for hikes, there actually doesn't seem to be too many hikes. At least at first searching. So...How should I prepare? I feel like I have a good base of equipment, I have been hunting coues deer for most of my adult life. So I have 15 binos, 10 binos, but no spotting scope. Should I look for one? I have a good hunting backpack. I'll increase my exercising, good benefit of this is I need to lose 20 plus pounds. Very soon i'll need to actually start to head to the unit and see it. I read somewhere where someone said to contact the Bighorn society. I will take all the advice and help I can. I don't want to make anyone hate me....but my wife got drawn for late bull in 3C this year. Our plan is to give it to my 13 year old. That hunt runs from 12-1 to 12-7, then my sheep hunt from 12-8 to 12-31. Hopefully work understands! Added a picture of my boys deer I am getting very excited!

25 years ago, my dad and I found a dead one not far from a G&F office, it must have just been ran over. We took it to G&F. They were pretty upset and said we shouldn't have picked it off the road. We just didn't want more cars to run it over and ruin it. We thought they could get it stuffed or what not. Eventually they thanked us for it. But man, next time just keep on driving.

Come on guys, give me some credit, I've had a bow for a few years, nothing special. I got drawn for archery bull and decided I need to step it up a notch and do some serious practice. I went and got a new bow and have started shooting pretty much every day in my back yard. My problem is I feel like I pull to the left, a lot. I just don't want to be teaching myself something wrong. I'm in Mesa

Getting into archery, an early archery bull tag will do that. Just kind of looking for tips on what I am doing right or wrong. Anybody know someone that can help me out. I just purchased a bow and have been shooting in my backyard.

After years of not getting drawn, I finally have a tag. I actually switched from early rifle to archery. I'm a little nervous about the whole archery thing. Because of this I am looking into the possibility of hiring a guide. Anybody have someone they recommend? Anyone to avoid? A buddy told me a couple, I just want to see what you guys say? I am excited for this fall. But I feel like I need to determine quickly to do this on my own or with a guide.

Im looking for a new family tent. How old is it? I found a 10x10 online that says it fits 6. Would that be what this is stated as? How long does it take to set up?

Im not really sure what my budget is. I need to look into prices and see what I am willing to pay. More then likely I would just stay local. Of course I do have some family in southern Alberta. I would lean toward mt. lion. I was checking out guiding services for here.

I reached a milestone age and decided to give myself a nice hunt. Will probably go for a guide. What would you do? I am debating between a black bear hunt or mt lion. I even think, what about a coues deer on the res? That might be my last choice. I'll post the same thread in the mt lion section. I have not gotten either one.
