    large pick up

It had probably been dead at least a year when I found it, the nose was all chewed off with a little hide left on it. Dan H, it came from 34B. Any guesses on score? I had it scored (unofficially). It has since been broken in two peices.

What kind of binos are going to use it on? I have one that we made here at our shop for my Leicas using velcro and it works great. I no longer use it since I bought my big binos and you are welcome to it.

    Antelope Question

Me personally, I would not pass a 15" buck but I aint never been much of a trophy hunter. If I had another rifle tag I would probably hold out til the last couple of days and then decide. I have a unit 1 archery tag and I aint gonna picky at all!! ronaldo, I had that tag in 2001 and it was amazing, I ended up taking a 13" buck, perhaps I shoulda held out but oh well, like I said, I aint never been much of a trophy hunter.

What do you use to keep it steady?

I have a Bipod that I rarely use cuz it digs into my shoulder on long hikes, I will use whatever is around to rest on. I prefer to take my pack off and lay down and shoot across it, I've also used rocks at just the right height. The last two Coues I've shot were off hand, one @110yds and the other @180yds, I won't shoot longer distances without using something for a rest and my rifle has the scars to prove it! The longest shot I've made on a Coues was 328yds, my rifle is zeroed @300yds. I think it's easier to hold a little low for up close shots that hold real high for longer shots.

Are those the hills just off the Mescal-J6 turn off? At the end of the Whetstones? Or on the other side of the interstate?

Smith & Wesson revolver .460, Remington 870 Super mag, Springfield XD, Weatherby .300 WSM, and Remington .350 w/Leupold 4.5-15 and Leupold hand spotter. I got a gun cleaning kit in my balloon raffle and a RMEF coffee cup (for $20) but I don't mind giving my $ for a good cause!
  19. Ernesto, I am impressed! You parked at the scenic pull-out in the Salt River Canyon (White Mountain side) and hiked all the way across the canyon and up onto the hill on the other side! I have often wondered what it would be like over there on that side! Very nice photos! Thanks!

    WANTED BY THE LAW

That spotter standing up in the back looks aweful familiar! He must have his mule tied off in the brush somewhere, hard to recognize without the Festis hat!

There is a Coues Deer Rd. off of Manville and Anway area out in my neck of the woods.
  24. Very nice photos Ernesto! I have seen a rattlesnake up on Timber Mesa and one down on the Black River by Tick Flat, it is very possible that you did see a wolf, get any shots off at it?
