How Would You Hunt This Coues Spot?
azpackhorse replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Clear big, uncomfortable rocks from the shady side of the truck, spotter ranges buck, lay down and adjust turrets on the .338 Lapua and squeeeeeze . Seriously though, planning the attack is my favorite part of hunting Coues. -

So there I was..............driving to work in the morning like I have done for the last 20 sum-odd years, enjoying my cup of coffee when all of the sudden WHAM!! I let out a scream (manly, low pitch yell..not girlie scream) It took me a minute to figure out what happened, then I recalled seeing an Owl's face in my windshield of my Jeep. What really upset me was I couldn't drink my coffee due to glass chards. I stopped on the way home and confirmed species................kamikaze Barn Owl.

It does have one of those wild life license plates that AZGF advertises, I guess it thinks it's entitled. I almost hit a HUGE Javelina a few weeks ago and last week another Fox narrowly escaped the Jeep. I jerked my head so hard reacting that it screwed my neck up, had to go to the Chiropractor for a week.

More letters from Iraq...
azpackhorse replied to mattys281's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Glad to see that your little bro is ok, Matt. My youngest son heads to Iraq in a few months and I am the one who is scared to death. I am sure that he is somewhat scared too but he hides it better than his father............ It is good for people to read these letters, for those who do not have a loved one over there I think it adds more realism to it......not some 10 second clip on the news. My prayers are with your little bro as well as the rest of our brave young troops over there. -

Big Brother
azpackhorse replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I entered mine and the first thing that came up was minutes from a AZGF meeting.......................it was from a petition I signed when that Cabelas TAGS fiasco was going on. I think it is a sign that an archery elk tag is in my near future -
