How far from your glassing spots do you camp?
elecshoc replied to broadhead's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I generally try to stay out of an area if I know there's a rifle season going on. If i do go out I try to stay on main roads just to try to stay out of the way of hunters. -
Reminds me of an old Uncle teddy show I watched years ago where he missed bad on a buck and from the slow mo looked like he shot the deer in the arse. Not a word about it on camera but once he found it he stated perfect shot, I was aiming for the femoral artery. I got a big kick out of that episode.

When our dog was a pup he would lay in front of the TV and watch bolt whenever it was on. Literally from start to finish if he caught it on time. Later on he really got into wolf documentaries.

I thought I would rather sink it then to let it become worst. Just not bothered enough to mess with the crap.

Getting ready for work when my wife let me know while I was in the shower. One thing I remember vividly was how quite it was at work.

Jesse at Bull Basin would be the go to guy. Only shop I would trust with my rig. Good luck

I would say 8 or 9 with me and my bow. It's helps not only with damping the sound, it helps me with minimizing the torque on my shot. I went from a little 5 inch rubber stab to a 10 inch with a little weight and it's been working out well.

Yeah I understand the point creep and I do understand that part of the issue. I'm just understanding this as two different issues. The first part and what I understood as the OPs point was the disclosure of an specific area to hunt, meaning a specific drainage or so forth. When it comes into the draw, there are multiple places where people find the info spoon fed to them. Not only on Scotts podcast but also from newbergs and with the hunt apps available.
-
This I would agree with, you could also add to that the hunting apps now available with tag info included.

Haha first thing I thought was Jay Scott as well. I don't think there's anything really you can do about it. You're really not sure if it is the podcast that contributed to the increase in your area anyhow. Maybe it was the guy at sportmans or the fella at the bar. Who know's what may have contributed to the increase, have you checked the game and fish website to see if they noted the area on the hunt unit info page?

I like using my phone, for one its always with me and for what I use it for I usually get decent enough pics. I agree about the mounting system. I just did a diy jobber with my dash car mount, I'm sure with a ready built one you'd get much better images. here's a little sample of a video I took with the setup. https://www.instagram.com/p/2klfV4yHyflg6z0sa6eoA-GS0Nj-31j_NTNfw0/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=1a1wwm0v7pa24

Haha sorry for the misunderstanding there. I was referring to noise as in the few fellas trying to disparage him for asking for help. Not trying to discredit any of the suggestions of help offered up bbn on the thread.

do a quick google search on replacing the big 3 on the Dodges. I did mine quite a few years ago and its basically returning the hot leads and ground wires with better cabling. the grounds from the factory will eventually go bad. I still use my 96 for working and hunting, once I replaced the cabling it cleared up quite a bit of battery and dim lighting issues.
-
Don't worry about the noise here, just take it all with a grain of salt. Agreed on the archery shop, have someone watch you while you shoot. Other thing you could you do is record your shooting and checkout sites like ArcheryTalk. There are some good guys that could help on there as well. I've been shooting for years and just made a change to my grip this past summer. I'm still working through it that at this point and by sept I should be good to go.

Late hunt vs early hunts (what do you do different)
elecshoc replied to no worries's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Hey Jim, I actually have a early tag for that unit and I'll let you know what i see around there. One tip I would say in dec and jan is to keep an eye on the back trail of does as they cross the country side. I've seen bucks come out get on the trails of even fast moving does even after the does are quite a bit down the trail. They'll come out and take a whiff of the trails and sometimes will start tracking them down trail. It's not something I usually see any other times of the year. Thanks again for the gear and if you need another set of eyes out there come dec just let me know. DuWayne -
I'll take them if still available. I got a couple of nefews I'm gonna be taking out this year

Apparently you gotta stake out the power lines.... -
Yeah, half way through and it's been really good.

It's about what I though it was gonna be. Just had the general admission tix, so I wasn't in the Q&A. As for the "Az" issues not brought up, I'm not expecting these outta state fellas to come in a give a precise opinion on issues we are facing we are facing here. I'm actually glad just so it didn't turn into something resembling some of the threads we've had here lately. I like the show and the fellas seem cool enough, but my wife was amused at how some fellas seemed like they were star struck. Really they're just fellas who hunt on tv and do a podcast. I think it nice to have like minded people on TV and be visible but we gotta be careful in giving them too much credit on where they stand on issues. The podcast is entertainment that is sometimes good for getting info, but it can't be a crutch for which we should be making decision on our hunting in Az.

It's a ishshow all around, but i can't stop watching.....

I use a smart wool cut off from REI that work well with shorts and in the heat. They have a thicker pad on the ball and heel with thinner parts so it doesn't heat up. I've had them for more than a five years now and still holdin up

Would be awesome to hear the story of this piece. Nice to see the pics.
