if it's the 3rd time its happened it doesnt sound like it was this guys fault. find a better tank further from the road i guess. why would they stop to talk to you? were you flagging them down?

after seeing a couple posts about the increase in tags and number of deer seemingly decrease, i have wondered for years what it is that they do. besides drive around in brand new trucks, and building new facilities. i know they write tickets to some and stock rainbow trout in certain lakes. i would assume they manage some waterholes? Ive seen the numbers of tags increase for about all species over the last 10 years, as well as the cost of the tags, do we have more deer to hunt now? Im into fishing too, and i noticed that when ever they do a project they ask for donations and people to donate their time, why? and if this increase in tags is just a money maker for the azgfd at the expense of the quality of hunts for us? (no rant, serious question)

thanks for the response brian. for me, your response raises more questions. you mentioned all the different org's that you work with to raise money, and also mentioned grants that some of these org's have secured, and special auction tags and what not. however the response kind of makes it sound like the game and fish doesnt do much conserving on its own and that is left to private organizations who must raise their own dollars. many people are under the impression our tage fee's and licenses go to pay for salaries, brand new 2500HD Silverado's and multi million dollar facilities and little goes back into the wildlife.

i wish it was that easy through the azgfd for the quality tags.

saw 11 muley does and 3 coues does that were not with bucks yesterday and 1 giant buck that was by himself.

I was fortunate enough to get drawn when i was 15 for 15b west. got a 162, but i would have to disagree on the not passing of a 160. definately depends on the unit, but if i had a unit like say 22, i would be passing a 160 for sure, because ive seen toads there. theres quite a bit of diference in looks from a 160 to a 167 imo. 167 is a great sheep. im proud of my 162 but id wish it was a little bigger, it was 12 years old though, so i guess thats the trophy.

ya, i remember alot of those names since they are on the wall of fame. that jeff holly name stands out especially because he has the 100m and 200m records at BR.

i graduated in 03. ya the baseball team last year was awesome. chris williams does all our taxidermy work so it was cool to see his kid do so well. i guess it came down to a walk off home run by nick williams to win it last year.

ya i was stoked. i played there years ago, dain is a cool guy and i really liked him as a coach. Paul Moro and all the assistants are about the best in the country. glad hamilton lost so BR can keep the all time win streak record also. BR is loaded for next year too. glad the gold football is back at home!

seen a good one in the back of saguaro lake by the beach, seen a lot around canyon lake of course but no quality this year. last year saw a great one at canyon lake but havent seen him in a while. awesome tag to have good luck

oh man, nice buck kevin. i hunted there sunday and monday. it was a little tough for us. saw 15 deer. 2 bucks. saw a really nice one, about like that but didnt get a shot.
