    Giant Velvet Coues buck!

dont know what you guys are complaining about, you all could kill bucks like this every year(maybe not 150" obviously). just make sure everyone in the hunting world is aware that youll pay the most $$$ for finders fees of huge bucks and bulls.

heard alot of bugles in Unit 1 this weekend

spent yesterday afternoon and this morning in 1. hardly heard any bugles except for a few before the sun was even close to being up. did not see 1 elk, im dead serious. not even a single cow. maybe because there were so many people out and about but i would have thought i would have seen at least a cow. was a weird trip. i wouldnt say it was "on" by any means.

    Unit 23

It's pretty sad that you can't commiserate with people that have spent all spring and summer carrying salt and running cams that are a little frustrated that on opening morning there were hounds running all over the dang mountain. It's public land, and they have a right to be there, but it's pretty dang frustrating. I guess you're lucky enough and have been around long enough to know where they run hounds in this state.... Some of us aren't as fortunate and had opening weekend (and 3 of my 10 vacations days) ruined by people running hounds. I hope in the future you can understand why some people have heart burn with hounds running by thier treestands multiple times during a day... I understand your points completely... but it is a mute point (is what I mean). $H!T happens out there... it has happened to me and likely will so again. It isn't that I knew where "not" to be, but we didn't happen to see a single dog or other hunter. My point is that threads like these create more divisions between hunters... and give "them" more leverage against us... I heard the same gripe in the Taxidermist shop over the weekend too from a good friend and I told him the same basic thing. I am sorry that your hunt was a bust, but you chose one thing to be mad about instead of lots of things to be happy about... hunting is not just about the kill. I have the outdoors and God's country at my finger tips every day so I tend to take it for granted... but for those of you that only have 10 days or so a year you should let your Blood Pressure fall and just enjoy the minutes you can be out there, because you can sit in your car on the freeway during the morning commute and grumble. Good Hunting. You're very correct that I shouldn't let it get to me like I do. Thanks for putting it in perspective. I just found out my boss canceled my vacation days for my early archery elk hunt so I'm probably a little frustrated over that too. Hope I didn't come off like too much of a prick. would quit on the spot, seriouss. all the years i didnt get drawn and didnt take vacation days are getting cashed in on this hunt. even though im broke and should be working, might not get drawn for 10 years. the way the world is, who knows i might be hunting to survive by then.

    3B North Archery Antelope

haha, youll be alright. thats a fun hunt you got, i went on one in 3b years ago, guy got a 370+ edit: nvm

    unretreaved animals

so much this. a guy will shoot a bull, the bull doesnt flinch so he doesnt think its hit when it jogs off and so the hunter proceeds to shoot the next bull in the group. pretty soon you have a guy who just killed 2-3 bulls and never even finds the one. a bull elk can take a shot from .300 and not even flinch is what beginners and dumb butt's dont realize.
