Sinkholes formed by the collapse of the overlaying Kaibab limestone. The McCauley Sinks south of Winslow is another cluster. Those are everywhere in that country. From east of Meteor Crater, heading south of Winslow and east and south past Holbrook. Some fascinating geology throughout the region. Sinkholes, fissures and fractures.

I've read that heavy snowpack in the West and the Rockies delays the monsoon due to the surface not heating up as fast. Who knows really. They missed the last two years with the monsoon and winter predictions! Rain is nice in Flagstaff so far! Love the smell of rain in the pines!

Ha. You guys should see the road to Marshall Lake. All summer last year it looked like a homeless encampment with RVs and vans from the 60’s. Felt like I was driving through San Fran! Definitely on guard driving through that mess. And the USFS does nothing.

Anyone else get a call from azgfd about draw mixup?

Been reading that thread over there. That guy should have received a tag. I believe there were 2 guys on that thread that were affected. Wonder if the OP is the guy over on MM. -
Years ago on a whim, bought a BassPro branded rifle bipod thinking I could buy 2 for the price of one Harris. I believe the brand was Rangemaxx??? Pure junk!

That’s going to be an awkward call to the insurance company.

Wonder why the change? All the draws, including this one have been the second Tuesday forever. Not a big deal really, but a lot of people are gonna be shocked logging in after the 6th. Lol

About 15 years ago, late August, I decided to drive from Long Lake to Kinnikinick and then to Ashurst. About 30 minutes in a huge thunderstorm dumped on me and then steady rain thereafter. Anyone that’s been on Anderson Mesa in a rainstorm knows how that mud gets. Pure snot! Between the mud and horrible rocks, I thought I’d never get out of there. Took me hours to get to Kinnikinick! I'm convinced the 82 road between Kinnikinick and Long Lake is the WORST road in the state. I haven’t been on that section since! 😜

I had to look up the state record. 49" and 32lbs from Ashurst. This is still impressive tho!

Another draw??? I was wondering why so many not drawn on here
Newbie2012 replied to Adicted's topic in The Campfire
Nope. Much higher. We don’t know how many hunts applied for per application. For example, my application had 2 hunts, for $26. Let’s assume the average was 4 hunts per application. That would exceed $1M. And that doesn’t account for the non-resident fee of $15. -

They had 21,487 applications @ $13 for each hunt entered. A nice chunk of change! edit. They got me for $26. Lol -

Roads are pretty messy still. Plus, people ignore the closures and ruin it for everyone.
-
Bet they called everyone yesterday. They said week of the 17th. Wouldn't take more than 10 minutes to get 6 people called.

Yeah, and the account log-in button is at the bottom or in the sub-menu. lol

Man, I hate their new website!

Yup. Of all years too with the LCR reporting historic runoff. Probably won’t see anything like it is now, again.

Bet Grand Falls is roaring! Too bad they closed it because people are slobs leaving trash, alcohol bottles and driving off road, making a mess of the place. Would love to go see it flowing.

Remember, Roosevelt can actually store up to 2.9 million acre feet in the flood control stage, but that water has to be released within 20 days I believe. They have plenty of space still.

Yeah, no kidding. 😞

And the $110B we sent to the Ukraine could have armed every K-12 school in America.

That’s pretty slick. I borrowed a buddies blind once, but I can’t remember the name. Anyways, it was a PITA to setup and tear down.

We do. Painted Rock Reservoir. When full, it’s second only to Roosevelt. Unfortunately, it’s not managed anymore due to extreme toxicity. And it’s dry all the time now since all the runoff upstream is already allocated to other places.
