Hey Coosefan..and all you others that WILL make it out there this week..Have a great time and stay safe. I am disapointed that I can't go but maybe someone else will on my tag yet. I contacted HOAL and am in process of trying to get my tag to them at laaast minute. I'd drive it to their office if it would keep it from being wasted.the pics of those bucks are great stuff too. (Keeps the fever high tho, need more tylenol.) And there is more than work keeping me out of the feild, My parents in law are flying in from China where they have lived for last 3 years, and my wife (Who happened to "need a lil space" for the last 5 months is wanting me there?) Most of all is my kids. My 11 year old son helped with early scouting..called every time he couldn't go along with me for a full report etc. I maintain that hunting is GREAT therapy and a man feels closer to God out there than in the rat race where some of us work but finally responsibility wins out on this one! You guys have a good time.. I may be set back for now but by god I aint dead yet! I'll be back...sometime! PS. Going to be eagerly awaiting that story of how the big one was taken...(OR got away wonder if it'll be wind wrong/scope foggy/too many illegals/border patrolchopper?? )

Guess i'mm just feelin a bit low just now...not that that is so strange! Been wanting to hunt the "little deer: since i could read an old copy of Jack O Connors book in school...25 years ago. Found myself in Arizona for work and actually drawn for 36B October hunt second year I tried. Scouted, played down there, family went along for fun sometimes and now hard to decide against going. Last minute obligations force work etc and if i decided to hunt anyway I probably wouldn't enjoy it much so guess I'll just pass.(on a lifetime oportunity for me? See, still not convinced lol) Now..I understand that tag is simply wasted now--if I'm wrong someone let me know! please.

Thanks for that input. My experience is limited to less than elk sized animals for most part. I do know that the Partitions have not had a longstanding history of being an "especially" accurate bullet. And i did test a box of the 165 GR Barnes X at the range in my newer Rmington rifle. They did as well or better than the partitions so would see no problem useing them either.Bummer on losing the elk. Guess sometimes the hunt isn't over at Bang.

Maybe I'm the ONLY .280 Rem fan in this forum but will add my .02 for wiw. The Hornady sst did fine for me on heavy whitetails in the Mississippi Black belt region for years in a Ruger77. Took it hunting antelope and the outfitter had same caliber so of course I asked a hundred questions. He claims he had never lost an elk in 18 years with Nosler partition bullets, but had chased and grounded more than a few that had been shot/wounded with "superguns" and the SST/Ballistic tip stuff. Shot placement beats speed in his opinion. My Browning didn't like partitions at all..so sold it after I found it didn't like anything atall. My remington which I hope to use halloween hunt in 36b is doing best with the Federal 140 fusions, followed by 140 accubonds. havent tried Hornadys yet. (Will remedy that friday at Ben Avery) Good Luck!

WOULDN'T that be awsome to show that buck with a perfect pass thru shot to a camera thief? Puts a whole new meaning to the "I'M LOVIN' IT" slogan! I wish I could do something to help this happen for our man. -

I'm pretty new at all this AZ whitetail stuff...but for goodness sake get off your tricycle and go hunt that deer. We all know when we go into public land this kind of stuff can happen. I'll be the first to say that stealing and all is really poor character, Someone of a "lower" sort is hangin in your area for now. But lets watch our attitude...or we wind up being on the same level they are..just a whiner to boot. Theres a difference between stating facts and letting it ruin your life. (Won't tell ya how I know ) Just another thought: The bad guy doesnt' really have more info than you...he just has you rattled. HE doesn't really know where that buck is either! If you've been hunting him this long I'd like to think you're still ahead of the game! Hang in there Champ! -
Love it when something comes together! Looks great! Been 7 years since a bowhunt for me, and due to circumstances may be another one, but that sure gets the fire burning!

Camera Thief in Unit 9 still going strong!

Thought Id stay out of this one as "I aint got no dog in that fight" but it's sad when it comes to stealin/borrowing without permission! I like the idea of names and numbers on the cams tho...in case some one does find a pile of them somewhere some time. The zapper idea and the spray seems fair to me too...as long as theres another cam to record the reaction! Incidentally i spoke to a NFranger in another unit last weekend...he said quad owners, illegal aliens and road hunters don't give half the trouble that some "guides" and "outfitters" do. Claims they feel the rules simply don't apply to them since they make money what they do. Hope you guys get what your after anyway. Good Luck
