    A couple of shed hunts

Congrats on the sheds, looks like some good finds. I am sure having the horse along made the trek out that much more enjoyable. Aaron.
  2. They lit that thing days ago when the weather was good and the winds finally caught it and took it yesterday. They did not light it under those conditions.

    2010 High Country Archery Deer

He meant south west colorado. I think he is still recovering from the elevation. It was an awesome trip and one I hope to repeat sooner than later. All except for the part where I came home without a deer, that I want to change. Aaron
  5. Great looking bear, congratulations. I know packing bear out of that country can be a real "bear". But there are some good ones to be had for sure. Aaron

    tommygobblers and trout

Lark, Glad to hear you had a good time in the woods. I agree that the animals are out in abundance now and this is the best time of year to see them. As summer and fall approach they will become wiser and will move off the roads but right now it doesn't seem like they have a care in the world. Aaron

    finally a coues horn

Jason, Nice looking pack load of horns you got there. If you let me know where you found them I will stay out of the area and let you find the match to that 8. Aaron
  12. Ya, as far as I know a specific number of tags were set aside for Hopi's in exchange for them maintaining access on lands that now belong to them. If they had locked down their property it would have been about twice the area they actually own because of the state land that is checkerboarded in there as well. Since the tags did not go in the regular draw they are now open on the first come first serve basis for anyone that puts in for them. Obviously there are some good tags so the competition will be fierce. Also if you draw the tags you are not restricted to the hopi lands but the unit description that is given. Aaron

    They are up!

Ya, no tags for me. Now I wait until the next draw. Aaron
  14. I have done some tile in the past but I actually wear a 15 and not a 14. Sorry and good luck. Aaron

    First browns and killer horns

Looks like a great trip. Glad you were able to find some other sheds to go with that head. It also looks like that bull must have spent a fair amount of time in that spot to have left several other sets for you to find. Aaron

    Calculating Draw odds

My understanding is that 20% go to the top point holders, resident or nonresident. The remaining 80% are divied out to the rest of the people that put in and which may include some of the top point holders who did not get drawn in the 20%. The 10% cap only comes into play if alot of nonresidents get pulled out of the cap first. If not then they could potentially get none of the tags, but no more than 10%. Don't quote me on any of that but that is my understanding. aaron
  18. Considering that it is the same bull he posted as his 2008 kill I would say he uploaded the wrong pic. But I could be way off on that. Aaron

    The Biggest Coues

I don't have a clue how big he is but after reading some of the posts and where these bucks are coming from he may not be that far off a road, just in a place no one has looked yet. Aaron

Another awesome buck. I can't believe all the fantastic and huge bucks getting killed this year. Starting with the early archery hunt they have been dropping like flies. Aaron
