this Feb rutting Mule deer
Buckhunter posted a topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Caught some video of this 3 point in Feb holding on to this doe. I thought to myself what a nice whitetail rack on him. npds.zip -
I got video of 7 Muley bucks, One of them bucks I would gladly trade my whitetail tag for. He was about 27" wide tall and deep forked. at 250 yards I was day dreaming holding my 300 sm. Went for a little hike to find my pack of pigs but couln't find them. I saw a 60 bird covey of quail, 2 does, and 9 bucks. Not bad for a short trip. The 2 does I jumped from the road, then as I was on the way back they were standing about 30 yards from my truck.

Just thought I would send my condolences for anyone who lost a family member or a friend on 9-11. I proudly hung my giant American Flag across the front of my home this morning. I'm also going to the gun range today, to through some lead in remembrace of our fallen Heros! God Bless America!

You said the best thing! You'll be hunting during the week, all the weekend traffic will stur up the deer. But after Monday if theres not to many people out there you should have a good chance at a buck. Good luck. I have shot two in a row there. Last year I put 4 guys on 8 bedded bucks and killed 4 bucks in about 15 seconds. We had meat all over the ground.

Well opening weekend was quite exciting. My brother and a friend of ours, and I saw lots of big deer and elk. My brother Jeff put the smack down on his first Utah buck later in the morning. The next day I was feeling under the weather. I ended up coming down with some kind of respatory infection. So I was in no hunting shape. My lungs hurt bad. So we packed up and went home. The following week I sent my wife and kids to Indiana for eight days and went to work. I had 4 days off so I through my gear in and made a bee-line to Utah. I was felling good. I got their and I only saw 3 hunters on the whole mountain. Next morning I got up to a trail in a new area and saw lots of does. I had a good feeling something was gong to happen. I got abot 150 yards from the truck sneeking trough the aspens on a cow trail and saw a doe lying down. I started to get my camera out when she stood up and was looking to her right. Throught the trees I could see horns. The buck stood up and was facing me at 25 yards. I knocked and arrow and slowly drew back. I only had a 3 to 4 inch gap between the trees to shoot throught. Well my arrow flew true and blasted right throught the chest. As he ran past me at 20 yards with the fletching sticking out I knew he was mine. He ran aout 80 yards down hill I went to my truck and got my pack frame and got him to the truck in 10 mins. Not a big buck but a good way to start off te season. I'm now 3 for 3 in Utah.
