    AZ Feral Hogs?

This place is a joke, I was curious about it and had a general idea on where it was so i hiked across a mesa to see if i was right. well i was i could actually glass it from where i was. its ridiculous, you could literally buy a hunt for anything there and stand at pretty much any given place and have a shot at ANYTHING. Most of the ranch is pasture for horses a few lakes/ponds and buildings. Dont get me started on the "hogs" the pictures they show are grossly misinforming, They are regulary farm pig slop eatin oinkers. Lots of em too. I couldnt help but laugh lookin at that place after reading THEIR description of it. If anyone wants to glass it up and take a look of their own ill let anyone know where to go. Its about as high fenced as it gets. At least they named it correctly "EZ" ranch.

    Your first hunts

I grew up chasing snakes and everything else in the mountain behind my house, frequently in trouble at school for a snake or horned lizard or something gettin out of my desk when in grade school. Got my parents called in 3rd grade for catchin 3 speckled rattlesnakes on a field trip. they said "hes gonna do it when he gets home anyways" My Dad took me and a buddy hiking every weekend and bb guns turned to pellet guns and with that rabbit hunting and coverin alot of ground seeing everything else and dreaming about it. Then to 22's and shotguns after quail and rabbits. and finally to pigs. Took two years to get my first pig. My dad never hunted anything bigger than pheasants growing up, so my buddy who was two years older than i and myself tought ourselves from scratch. Shot my first pig at 13 with a 357 python by myself while everyone else was a long ways away. When it fell i was so excited i kept shooting at it a few times cuz i was scared it would get up and run away and no one would believe me. In high school i got a bow to "keep me out of trouble" well that turned every day of fishing to everyday shooting at the archery range. When my buddy could finally drive we would go to prescott and chase muleys archery in the rut for days on end and only come home to resupply for food while we were off on christmas break. The first year i entered for elk and pronghorn i drew archery pronghorn and archery bull elk. ill tell ya 6 days alone gettin dropped off on fain road and chasing pronghorn with 0 experience will teach you alot, and never pass a barely legal goat at 15 even if your monster is on his way in. elk the truck broke after one evening, but in that one evening i realized i could actually call elk with all that practice. every time i heard a bugle i knew in my head it was another hunter until mr giant bull came runnin in with a tree stuck in his rack and peeing allover. Looking back its still one of the biggest bulls ive seen and probably 360 then. wouldnt come in past 60yds. Honestly its probably good cuz on the ground i didnt know how to gut or skin nor did my dad let alone the gutless deal and it woulda been really scary. But its a funny thing to look back on. Now i try to teach myself as much as i can every time im out and occasionally learn from others i meet. It was very hard not haveing anyone to teach me but i enjoyed the time out there with my Dad and it was well worth it. Now i teach him things and convince him to enter for tags or go scouting or chase quail. I think they got me into hunting/hiking/fishing to keep me out of the other things kids get into. and didnt wanna see me blowing my money on a drug habit or somthing.....but now i am realizing this is much more EXPENSIVE!!! But i imagine its still alot better. Im glad that this is what i love however i got into it, ill never get out.

That guy needs to loose his job. he made it personal and went out of his way on his own portraying the bank like that they should be concerned about their image. ill bet you make progress.

    Bear attack.

LOS ANGELES - A woman whose face was mauled by a bear in rural Southern California has been released from a hospital, health officials said Monday. Allena Hansen, 56, had the scalp along her forehead ripped off, leaving it hanging to the side, said Dr. Kimberly Lee, one of the two surgeons who repaired the injuries at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. The bear's claw left an indentation on her bone where it tore through her face, Lee said. But her "vital structures" were spared, Lee said. No other details of her injuries were released. UCLA said in a statement that Hansen underwent six hours of surgery. A friend had said last week that the surgery lasted 10 hours. Lee said Hansen appears to be doing well and that doctors are optimistic about her recovery. She called Hansen "a remarkable woman who is an inspiration to us all." Hansen was attacked July 22 while walking with her two dogs on her property in the Piute area, near the little community of Caliente, about 85 miles north of Los Angles. Despite her injuries she drove to a fire station to get help. She was flown to Los Angeles. A UCLA Health Sciences spokeswoman, Elaine Schmidt, said Hansen was released from the medical center last week but could not say which day. DNA tests of saliva on the victim's shirt have yielded preliminary confirmation that the animal was a black bear, California Department of Fish and Game spokesman Steve Martarano said. Fish and Game have called off the search for the bear.

    coyote kills

Animals reguarded as predatory or furbearing animals are not included in the "hunters must salvage all useable meat" deal. They are an essential part to arizona but breed and multiply much faster than we can or will ever be able to control. They need to be shot on sight, and hey if ya feel obligated, eat the critter...but i wouldnt recommend it... i could relate it to somthin but not on a public forum. If it yips howls and barks...and is close to in range it is dead. shoot the buggers, especially in antelope country. if ya apply for pronghorn and dont shoot every yote you can in that country your diggin your own grave. sure roads and development hurt em but thats cuz it inhibits their primary defenses, speed and sight. If ya can run and see forever but cant get very far what goods it do ya? IMHO they die there is to many as it is and they only multiply faster, do a few google searches or AZGFD study searches on the effects. You will soon understand. AZGFD tried doing arial shoots for a while during studies on anderson mesa, until shut down by antis, the results....no change in antelope, a 90% fawn death rate due to yotes, but yote litters averaged from 2-3 pups before to 4-5 pups after. they adapt....we need to also....that means 22-250's and lots o' time.
