Count your AZ blessings!!!
Non-Typical Solutions replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in The Campfire
I spent two years in Norway and got as much of the chilly environment as I wanted.....but I gotta admit 2016 population of 757,952 That is pretty tempting!!!! -
A quote from one of the comments on that article.... "If it's not your, keep your booger hooks off it." Never heard them called booger hooks!!!

It says developed or point water Can't wait to hear a clear definition of a point water source!!!

Honestly sounds like a G$F nightmare...............short of an overall ban on cams.

A teacher at our school has put together an after school program involving students interested in becoming more tech savy. They entered a contest that initially started out competing against schools across the nation. They have been narrowed down to the top ten finalists out of the 50 states. We need help voting for this project! Please take the time to watch the short video and then vote for SJHS!! Ironic thing is if you take the time to watch the video you will notice it is wildlife related in an effort to help reduce accidents on the highway involving animals. http://www.samsung.com/us/solvefortomorrow/home.html If you scroll to the bottom of the page you will find all finalist videos! All voting is via twitter so I had to break down and get a twitter account Thanks for looking and appreciate any votes we can get. You can vote once per day until the competition is over. Jeff If you follow me on twitter Jeff Mortensen nontypical60 you can just click the link there and it will take you to the site to vote. If you are familiar with twitter you probably already know that but I know nothing about twitter except how to vote for this project!!!

I don't like more laws and prefer the use of common sense. Seems like the idea of staying away from "water" is a healthy approach and yet for many parts of AZ water comes and it goes so it could be a tricky law to enforce/abide by. Seeps, springs and such that are sometimes not known to many hunters can be really fun to set cams on and get great pictures. Sometimes there is water there and sometimes not! I am not a fan of trail cams on tanks or sitting tanks for hunting purposes but that is just my own hunting preference. This is a buck we chased for 3 years in a very remote part of AZ and the tall grass he is standing in is a seep spring. We hunted there because we had pictures of this buck on trail cam but we never got a shot at this buck in three years of looking for him!(horrible hunters) We thoroughly enjoyed checking the cams as a family, but as remote as this is I still lost two cameras that were at this same seep. Fun times, I sure hate to see them law this up........

March 17 is the last voting day and a person can vote one time per day........need as many people as possible to jump on board. Honestly just a little crazy, they are claiming $100,000.00 to the winning school and a trip to DC for the students who worked on the project.......

Headed out this weekend for some recovery time in the hills.....hope to stumble over an antler out there. Would love to find one laying on top of the snow.......that would be a first for me!!!

Many years ago my dad took me hunting to a very southern part of New Mexico to what at the time was the Slover Ranch. This is a very remote part of nowhere!!! We were friends with the rancher and they let us bunk at their ranch shack, brewed us hot chocolate early morning before we headed out and then the wife asked us kindly to please don't shoot the deer that we would certainly bump into before we got away from the ranch house. We said absolutely and went about our hunt.....bumping into the deer she mentioned and then never seeing another deer the whole rest of the day!!! Respect is something that is very rare it seems with all of the above mentioned hunting techniques and methods. If respect was a part of a person's every day life the answers are almost always pretty clear cut and not that hard to get! Do I want more laws??? Not really....... Is there something to be said for having respect for other people and their beliefs.......every day. Does having respect mean that we can't fight for what we think is right.........not necessarily. I have elk and deer beating and eating the crap out of my trees on my property and I want them gone.....but inside city limits, with a building on the acreage........I have not been able to have a tag in my hand and any law that would allow me to take either of those species during a hunt

Still trying to get some extra voters on this if you don't mind taking the time........an Arizona school being represented on a national level!!! Thanks......

I knew I was going to catch some flack over posting this. Fact is "Moby" has been very well taken care of. He has spent many a night in an expensive "doggy day care" while my sister was out of town working as a child advocate to make sure that our tax dollars were properly applied for State funded day care centers, for children. Believe it or not she's tore up about it. She hopes to do the responsible thing and find him a place where he won't be an apartment dog in Seattle. These days you can catch flack for helping grandma across the street on CWT......good job looking for a home!! Good luck!!

So does anybody have an answer to the original question???

I heard about Silver Creek for the first time last night. Pretty fun little spot with lots of pressure at times. Make sure you take the time to walk up creek and see where the water just boils up out of the ground.......

Local paper stating what we already really knew.....genetic diversity becomes a very slippery slope when the genetics are cooked in the books.....
