What to expect on unit 10, Sept 8th Antelope hunt
Non-Typical Solutions replied to Viper's topic in Antelope Hunting
If you haven't spent much time in the unit you will get frustrated with locked land, houses etc. in places you wouldn't think! At least take the time to make sure the spot you are trying to get to or wanting to hunt doesn't fall into that category! I have not hunted antelope in 10 but have been disappointed many times through the years to find places that were accessible are not as accessible as they once were! It has been ten years since I hunted 10 so maybe that isn't the case, but history tells me there is a chance it has gotten worse! Good luck with your hunt!!! -
Here is the whole article, I probably wasn't fair to the wolf program making fun of him being off road, he could be on a ranch somewhere. It is interesting though they are trying to find ways for quote: Instead, the Range Rider program focuses on the practical and thorny problem of how to successfully raise cattle in wolf country. The intentional reintroduction of wolves into a wild landscape shared with people has created a practical need for a new kind of relationship with the animal. Instead of killing wolves, how do we live with them? http://www.wmicentral.com/news/apache_county/ranchers-find-unlikely-partner-in-defenders-of-wildlife-group/article_2b1f1113-ab2b-5daf-835e-ebc155184f3e.html

As we head into the stretch here scouting and all I am reminded of a time when RagHorns old man had the same tag! RagHorn was supposed to be up high keeping an eye out while his old man was down in the cedars below! The only thing RagHorn was keeping his eyes on was the backside of his eyelids!!!! Looking forward to return the same help here in a couple of months!!!

Interesting Big Game Ranch?
Non-Typical Solutions replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in The Campfire
Great group of people trying to do this and I guess because I have never been on any kind of a guided hunt or paid anybody cept G$F for the privilege of hunting anywhere! I guess I was just puzzled by the amount of room being allocated to hunt something thinking that it would be like shooting something at a large zoo. I do hope they can pull their dream together and it works out for them, interesting concept! -
Proposal for Wolves in Grand Canyon
Non-Typical Solutions replied to ready2hunt's topic in The Campfire
Kinda like what PineDonkey said about Big Lake Road........for those of us who really enjoyed that area, it ruined that stretch through there....way more traffic.....fast traffic..... -
Proposal for Wolves in Grand Canyon
Non-Typical Solutions replied to ready2hunt's topic in The Campfire
That will eventually happen in my mind......could be way off base, it just seems to be one of those little chink holes that is just another step away from no more hunting.......I know...hysteria setting in...... -
Proposal for Wolves in Grand Canyon

That eco-system is not the same as it was back whenever you are talking about! For me personally it is about money being spent to "re-introduce" a specie that is questionably not the "specie" that supposedly inhabited this area at some time! How many of us portion off a section of green grass in our yard to allow prairie dogs and gophers to live happily? They used to live there happily! Hunters(this hunter, me) see their opportunities diminishing as the map gets sectioned off for a wolf that as the program evolves will eventually go where it wants to no matter what the wolf people say, that has already been proven! -
Somebody deleted about 10 days of pics off one of our cards but Rag Horn recovered the reason and lets just say that is a nice bull!!!

UTV Storage in the Heber/Overguard Area?
Non-Typical Solutions replied to rossislider's topic in The Campfire
More than welcome to park it out at my shop just on the edge of Snowflake towards Heber.....but I don't have ability to get it inside, I could get it under the overhang....I'll post a picture tomorrow....... -
There is a certain amount of gratification for helping out in situations like this but dang I am tired of the people I love leaving before their time! Worked with Jean for many years, home teacher for 20, she babysat my dog Daisy every time I was out of town.......great gal and will be missed!!! If it had been my choice I woulda stopped right there but as per requested by family put a few add ons!!!

On a serious note, the way we have processed them is pressure cooker to cook out the juices. Throw them in prickly and all and then just collect the juice! Can't remember the exact ingredients we us but if LCC is making peach prickly pear jelly he probably has a more scientific method. It is great to have in the cupboard.......good stuff!!!

Coyote trapping on my own property
Non-Typical Solutions posted a topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
I had 9 laying hens and a rooster and then added my replacement crop that I hatched out in early May to the pen! Two weeks later I had"something" dig a hole and kill all 14 of my replacement young ones plus two of my older hens!!! Trail Cam Time!!! I have a 5 acre parcel with my closest neighbor half a mile away......so my question is??? Can I use a jaw trap for this coyote? Do I have to have a trappers permit? I actually caught this varmint cutting across my property yesterday....if I'd had a shotgun I woulda let him have it!!! -

Best of luck to your in law mom, wish I could help but don't have anything!! This summer has really been a tough on around our house, taking care of our parents and older kin is truly a monumental task and blessings to those who take care of their own when they can!!!
