Take a look at any of the political crap that we are knee deep in today and it is because of the slow cooking of the frog......one reason why the fight for gun rights ends up sideways, bathroom rights, kneeling for the flag.....the list has gotten long!!!! I have spent many a day sitting on the back porch of my Dad's summer home in Alpine.....listening to all types of shooting going on......Lord really knows where it is coming from! I have been tempted to shoot wandering coyotes off the back porch but.......it ain't worth the risk of having something screwwy like a ricochet bullet going off and hitting the neighbor, or his horse or his cow........and yes we have had bulls and bucks and bears! The common sense law is use your brain and don't be stupid!!!

For those of you who haven't met this kid, he is an inspiration to anyone who believes that hard work and persistence can prevail! I enjoyed watching him at various tournaments during his high school years and also kept tabs on him in college! It's that time of year to strap on the headgear and get after it!!!

Lake Mason Lions Club Spokesperson, Ralph Jacobsen said this has been a requirement for the past five years. School officials said they did not see it until this year, saying there was a handwritten note stating the group wanted the requirement of being a U.S. citizen underlined. Wisconsin Dells High School Principal, Hugh Gaston said that raised red flags and the district felt the scholarship requirements were not fair for all students. "Regardless of if they were born in Baraboo and grew up a block from the school, or if they were born in another country and they came here legally or illegally, I still think it's our mission to serve and connect with all students regardless of their background," said Gaston.

Pretty sure thats already happening. Man I remember seeing a group training when in was in boot camp and it was similar to OCS I said i wanted to do that and my company commander said you can't and when i asked why he said i was white and my scores were too high, it is a special group that requires non white and has lower test score requirements to get in. So my scores were too low for normal OCS but too high and I was to white for the other. :/ just what we need is folks that don't quite cut the mustard being given preference points for skin color. guess it was a sort of affirmative action OCS. Btw this would be last year that NTC Dan Diego was open 1993 Heaven forbid you select the person most qualified for the job!!!!!!!!!!

I saw one kinda like that once back in the mid 70's....living out in the middle of nowhere New Mexico with only three stations on TV and and antenna that was controlled by the wind.....I thought the world was coming to an end!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cool stuff!!!

Working on a project using some reclaimed lumber! It has some big cracks in it but is still really solid! Anybody have any experience filling these in with an adhesive that is weather durable? Looking to try and make it less weather susceptible by filling in the cracks!

I built a picnic table in high school, Jr. year, all out of new material, it spent 39 years taking care of kids, grandkids and winter snows up in Alpine! Finally had to put the table to rest, so this one is going in to replace it!!!

I agree on all counts......was looking for the "aesthetically" pleasing look ! More than likely will just leave it as is and replace it in 30 years if I'm still around!!! Thanks for the info guys, I appreciate the input!!!
