Fearful that they're losing ground on immigration and health care, a group of House Democrats is pushing back and arguing that any health care bill should extend to all legal immigrants and allow illegal immigrants some access, The Washington Times reported on Monday. The Democrats, trying to stiffen their party's spines on the contentious issue, say it's unfair to bar illegal immigrants from paying their own way in a government-sponsored exchange. Legal immigrants, they say, regardless of how long they've been in the United States, should be able to get government-subsidized health care if they meet the other eligibility requirements. "Legal permanent residents should be able to purchase their plans, and they should also be eligible for subsidies if they need it. Undocumented, if they can afford it, should be able to buy their own private plans. It keeps them out of the emergency room," said Rep. Michael M. Honda, California Democrat and chairman of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus. Honda was joined by more than 20 of his colleagues in two letters laying out the demands. Coverage for immigrants is one of the thorniest issues in the health care debate, and one many Democratic leaders would like to avoid. But immigrant rights groups and the Democrats who sent the letters say they have to take a stand now. BS I recommend we take care of the legal citizens first and then if we feel we got enought to spread it around to the rest of the world, then take a look at that........

Well said....your aren't missing the point Stanley, just the obvious, if they are here illegally, who is going to hold their hand to the fire to purchase insurance they don't need when we are going to pay for them anyway.......it is just a huge smoke screen to appease the illegals so that they will keep voting for the Obama health plan when Acorn comes around and signs them up to vote as a US citizen. Can I walk up to the ER and get services on a regular basis so I don't have to purchase insurance?? No cause I have a physical address and a PO box, I am a resident of AZ in the US and they will come track me down and take it out of my hide................ -

How can you be eligible to buy into our health plan if you are here ILLEGALLY? I don't get it. That is kind of like saying that you are going to give me a driving license even though I have been declared legally blind, thus making it illegal for me to drive.......probably not exactly the same, but dame same difference any way -

Not that the dry lakes in 3A are way off the beaten path, but couple years ago we had a couple of late rifel tags, one was my boy and we had scouted that area out and were happy with the patterns we were able to establish. WOW, opening morning was a circus. People cutting out across that country like it was a freeway. I will never set up there again for opening morning. We did get the satisfaction of watching G$F haul a guy over that was off the beaten path, that was at least a little gratification. You almost have to be in wilderness to avoid that stuff, so many two trackers and those who have no regard for staying on the two trackers. Good luck out there, it can be rough. -

After being interviewed by the school administration, the prospective teacher said: 'Let me see if I've got this right. 'You want me to go into that room with all those kids, correct their disruptive behavior, observe them for signs of abuse, monitor their dress habits, censor their T-shirt messages, and instill in them a love for learning. 'You want me to check their backpacks for weapons, wage war on drugs and sexually transmitted diseases, and raise their sense of self esteem and personal pride.. 'You want me to teach them patriotism and good citizenship, sportsmanship and fair play, and how to register to vote, balance a checkbook, and apply for a job. 'You want me to check their heads for lice, recognize signs of antisocial behavior, and make sure that they all pass the final exams. 'You also want me to provide them with an equal education regardless of their handicaps, and communicate regularly with their parents in English, Spanish or any other language, by letter, telephone, newsletter, and report card. 'You want me to do all this with a piece of chalk, a blackboard, a bulletin board, a few books, a big smile, and a starting salary that qualifies me for food stamps. 'You want me to do all this and then you tell me. . . I CAN'T PRAY? -
Nissan needs to put that on their ad's for their cars ability to stand up to the herd, dang, carnage, glad he survived that mess. I have nightmares about that every time I go off the rim or come back home.

Hunter Killed in the Gila

I thought this was some good easy advice especially that last paragraph: Use the 30/30 rule. When you see lightning, count the seconds until you hear thunder. If this time is 30 seconds or less, quickly go inside a substantial building. If such a building is not available, a metal-topped vehicle is the next best choice. Wait at least 30 minutes after seeing the last lightning or hearing the last thunder before going back outside. Get off the water, out of open spaces, and away from trees. The two mostly deadly places you can be are in open spaces or under trees. Avoid open spaces and trees during thunderstorms. Also avoid things that conduct electricity such as water, utility lines, and metal fences. Get to a safe place as quickly as you can. A substantial, enclosed building is the safest place. A metal-topped vehicle with the windows up is the next best alternative if you can't get to a building. Boaters: Get off the water and go to a safe place. Swimmers: Get out of the water and go to a safe place. Players on open playing fields: Get off the field and go to safe place. Golfers: Leave the golf course and go to a safe place, such as a clubhouse. Hikers: Turn around and go back to a building or your metal-topped vehicle. Your last resort is stay low and stay away from trees and other tall things. If you're still outdoors and lightning has struck close to you, crouch down into a ball on the balls of your feet. Your goal is to be the smallest target possible with the least contact with the ground. Do not seek shelter under tall or isolated trees or unsubstantial shelters. It's better to be wet from the rain than dead or disabled from lightning. -
That truck in your picture is the first truck I ever drove. We were moving cows from one pasture to the other. I was 8, my dad put it in first gear, told me to reach down and turn the key off when I got to the gate. I was up on my knees on top of the world driving down the dirt road when all the sudden I had to take a leak, but knew I didn't dare turn the key off til I got to the gate................wet my pants, what a way to ruin my first driving experience

Sad thing is with the ones we had stole, we had all the info on it and the cops said they would try to keep an eye out for them and put them in their data base, but they honestly have so much to worry about you know in your heart that those guns are gone.......... -

You can't replace stolen guns, handed down from generation to generation, all you can do is go buy new ones....and that sucks....feel for you on this one. Good luck in the hunt for stolen goods, too bad you didn't have a trail cam set..... -

Health Care Bill Info from congress
Non-Typical Solutions replied to az4life's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I am pretty proud of my dad, he did everything in his financial power to take care of my mom, put a new pace maker in her and all the while was dieing from kidney failure himself. He refused to do the dialysis thing. He lives out in the middle of nowhere and said his "quality of life" wasn't worth it. He was 84, she was 83, and dad died on a Sunday, mom closed her eyes on Monday and passed away the next Sunday. Mom's liver looked like an alcholic liver but she never drank. Here is what irks me: I pay dearly for my insurance only to be told of some technicality that they won't cover my wife's mammogram......and yet some people who qualify can get a mammogram for free. I dispise the fact that people here illegally get treatment for things that I pay for out of my pocket...... It really makes me mad when something costs less if I pay cash but more if it goes through the insurance........ Auto insurance needs the same revamping............. I spend $600.00 a month on health insurance and oh man my blood is boiling............. My house insurance went up to help insurance companies cover the damage of hurricane Katrina...........agggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh
