Very nice pics and heck of a buck looks like. Is that an Arizona Cardinal you got there?? No wonder we can't win a game I had a bunch of cows on my last cam as well, but the deer we had on the cam were alot of fun.

!!! 10 year old LOST GUN !!!
Non-Typical Solutions replied to primetime's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Did the exact same thing about 20 years ago up in unit 10.....felt like an idiot but was lucky enough to bump into the guy who found it and he was honest enough to say he had. Good luck recovering the gun, ...... it happens sometimes. -
Nice finds, did you find both right sides just this season or is that a couple of years worth of huntin?

Too bad that buck is out of the gene pool...nice find.

When I watch our political leaders use our country as a means to their pockets I think maybe they have been using this math technique.

Adding fuel to the discussion about whether that second buck is a whitetail or not, how about this shot. Look at the smaller features of the buck on the right compared to the mulie on the left. Realizing that the mulie on the left is a mature buck and all, but the features from head to hoof are just bigger. Another shot, and one thing that is consistent with the whitetail pictures from the past, they always have that rough looking hide/hair like this buck does. Just trying to plead my case that there is a mix of bucks here.

I did go ahead and bring it home, set it up for a night out at the chicken coop where I can always get rats and mice to work it for me. Just happened to get a pitbull mix dog on camera visiting my chickens.....what a lucky day for me.... Camera seemed to work just fine last night and all day today......

I set up my trail cam on Sept. 2, 2011. It is in a lock box and was not tampered with other than maybe getting knocked around by some elk or maybe even a bear. I went in deer hunting and was going to check my cam and then sit at my spot depending on what pictures I had. and here is the sequence of pictures. Sept. 4 - picture, shadow shot I think Sept. 11 - turkey Sept. 17 - shadow shot Oct. 20 - about 20 pictures of 4 different bulls in various shots Oct. 21 - pictures of my son and I walking up to check the camera What is possibly going on with my camera, why the desparity of pictures until the day before I go to check the camera? I have had this same camera at this same location before with no problems except bears. I have 200 pictures of deer, turkey, bears on my previous sets. Anybody have any clues for me on this funk my camera was in?? I have included some of my photos so you don't feel cheated, we all like pictures.

I had heard that what you are describing had happened from a hunting buddy of mine up here. I guess the quota got met and will just have to wait for next year...... -
Unit 27
Non-Typical Solutions replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
I called them that morning, the 20th to verify that the unit had been closed and she reassured me that it had been closed. We didn't see any bears this year, but I had intended on doing some serious calling this year. I haven't actually asked them about the numbers. -
Now wait a minute......don't go counting out the Lobos......we hope to be in the hunt in that final game as well. You guys are tough as usual and good luck in the playoffs.

Big.... Junior Mule Deer!
Non-Typical Solutions replied to Koury Guide Service's topic in Youth Hunters
I can not post yet. There are a couple of magazines contacting me for the rights for the story and pictures. My boys did kill two great bucks in the junior hunt. Both are on video and I will post if I can before the magazine hits the stand. I will post the buck I killed with another junior hunter on the 5th day that is a great 4x4 in a seperate post. Just a teaser the scores of the bucks my kids killed were in the high 170's and the other in the high 180's both 4x4 in velvet. Just sayin, I got a sneak peak at those two velvet bucks and what tremendous bucks those boys knocked down, congratulations to you guys......let us hear about the magazine when it comes out, would love to get it for a collectors item...... -

Josie, don't hold it against your future husband if he hasn't killed something bigger than you cause that is an awesome buck. Congrats to you and your pa for getting er done. Some of us old codgers are still looking for a buck like that in our crosshairs.... -
I join in with you and the excitement, 27 tag for us, I have been stealing groceries from the shelf for about a week hoping to be packed and ready when I get off work next Wednesday. Deer Tag ---- Check Bear Tag ---- Check Gun ----- Check.....and the list goes on.... Good Luck out there and safe hunting

Spring Hunt Application Deadline
Non-Typical Solutions replied to Red Rabbit's topic in The Campfire
Do I read correctly there are no over the counter youth spring turkey tags for unit 1/27?? Except for the archery hunt?? Is that correct??? -
Plus 1 on this one.....good luck getting your stuff replaced

I might be a little off, but I thought that I once read that some wildlife survey had suggested that we have 4,000-6,000 non-reservation bears in Arizona. That is pretty amazing, I remember as a kid spending time at Greer and going to the dump to see the bears come in and now, getting to know a little better about their habitat and seeing so many on our trail cameras and then coming into contact out in the woods with them has been so much more exciting than watching them at the dump. We hope to get to see a bear or two during our October deer hunt. Thanks for the stats.....

+ 1 on the must see list....worth your time..... -
I was wondering how you were keeping up with the watering chores on that setup, but maybe you had a packin system. Can't complain about the new photos though, there just must be an amazing population of bears out there cause I know we have had many bears on our cameras and you know that we aren't getting everybody's pictures on here. Nice pics thanks for sharing them...
