???? Got something you need to get off your chest?????

Bill, I don't go back quite that far. My mom says that I got sunburned at 4 months old in 1960 when we were camping down at Diamond Rock. She claims she was positive she kept moving me into the shade but well, we all know how that AZ sun can catch you. I do recall many more deer than elk and the only time we ever really got to see elk was on the fishing trip to Reservation lake. That is a good read, thanks.........

Politics doesn't kill my desire to help or serve the concepts of wildlife management. It kills my desire to dump my money into something that may not represent what I really believe. If I donate time to a project I know exactly what got done and why, if I send money into an organization/politics.....I don't know whos pockets are benefiting. -
I know this will catch alot of double LL but I figure it will stir the pot for some fun bantering. Our family has a friend that is graduating high school this year and headed to U of A. I told my wife I could make her a present extraordinair. My ASU grad son has promised retrobution, but just give me time and I will come up with the devil night light.

WASHINGTON: More than a million Chinese counterfeit electronic parts are estimated to be in use in US military aircraft, according to a US Senate report released Monday saying the discovery jeopardises safety and national security. The Senate Armed Services Committee said its year-long investigation launched by Democratic chairman Carl Levin and ranking Republican John McCain uncovered 1,800 cases of bogus parts, including on the US Air Force’s largest cargo plane, special operations helicopters and Navy surveillance planes. The 112-page report “outlines how this flood of counterfeit parts, overwhelmingly from China, threatens national security, the safety of our troops and American jobs,” Levin said. “It underscores China’s failure to police the blatant market in counterfeit parts — a failure China should rectify.” The report also said the Chinese government denied visas to committee staff to travel to the Asian giant as part of the committee’s probe, with a Chinese embassy official saying the issue was sensitive and that a negative report could end up “damaging” US-China relations. While the senators laid the blame squarely on China, the report said US authorities and contract companies contributed to the vulnerabilities to the defense supply chain by not detecting the fakes, or routinely failing to report suspected counterfeiting to the military. “The failure of a single electronic part can leave a soldier, sailor, airman or Marine vulnerable at the worst possible time,” the report said. “Unfortunately, a flood of counterfeit electronic parts has made it a lot harder to prevent that from happening.” The fakes included parts in the Electromagnetic Interference Filters used in night missions and in operation of “hellfire” missiles on SH-60B Navy helicopters. The were also found in memory chips in the display systems of C-17 Globemaster III and C-130J military cargo planes, and refurbished ice detection modules on the Navy P-8A Poseidon, modified Boeing 737 aircraft incorporated with anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare capabilities. The report said the Defense Department “lacks knowledge of the scope and impact of counterfeit parts on critical defense systems,” and that the use of unvetted independent distributors for the supply of critical military parts results in unacceptable risks to national security and safety. Kids Summer Camp Recommendations
Non-Typical Solutions replied to Big Browns's topic in The Campfire
Adam, I can point you in the right direction for a bunch of wrestling camps but have no idea about youth camps like you are talking about. Do they even exist is AZ? I know there are alot of weekend clinics that they do during the summer, some at Sipes and various places like that but nothing in a camp form. -

Plus one on that.....the politics kills the desire.......I also like your family approach. Teaching our(my) kids to do better than we(I) have is critical. -

Allen, Great questions, I have been waiting for the dust to settle on deciding about joining an organization. I like what I am hearing about the one TLH is trying to pull together but have not really heard much on the specifics of that organization. I think my tendency is going to be working on helping with habitat but have run into a little disappointment thus far. I got quick response initially from Game and Fish on the adopt a catchment program, but have been waiting for three weeks now to get a phone call or email from the G4F that was supposed to "coordinate" with me. A little frustrating but I will exhibit patience......for a while. -

In pig farmer terms that is approximately 2.5 litters per year..........and who's gonna feed them hogs.........

We had a brown from last year spring that got caught in the Wallow Fire had the same thing on it.....pretty wild looking the way that fire treated the antler.

Direct result of a burn area....everything we found this year....which wasn't much......was black as black.....nice finds....

Thoughts about what makes a "trophy" animal
Non-Typical Solutions replied to Rag Horn's topic in The Campfire
Raghorn....you gotta admit the hunt with 3 blown tires and hiking under the power lines by the light of the moon packing three tires is a trophy in itself. -
Photos from 2nd Annual AZ AntlerFest!! AMAZING collection!

This was the first attempt of any kind to put my work out in a setting like this weekend. I must say it is pretty tough to compete with the display of antlers and great work of others that were there. But we made a stab at it and I was not disappointed with the results. I didn't take any pictures of our booth but here are some photos of a few of the items we had on display. One of the fun things for my son Cole was he got to help unload piles and piles of antler that were brought in to be bought. He had a blast rubbing shoulders with Josh and Alan. Thanks for a great time....- 16 replies

2nd Annual AZ Antlerfest!! Its time!!
Non-Typical Solutions replied to GRONG's topic in Shed Hunting
We missed Antler Fest last year but had the opportunity to spend time there this year. Absolutely incredible display of antler, racks, mangled, tangled, massive non-typical, typical, you really can't imagine all of the unique antlers that were on display. Was a pleasure to meet Jim Reynolds and I must say, what an impressive display of antler and mounts. Amanda scored a mule deer shed rack for us. I found one side and my son Cole found the other. It was nothing special but she took the time to score it for us. Thanks Amanda. How about that artist and his painting too....man he made that look easy. Very unique display of what has to be some of the best antler in the country................. -
That does look like a heck of a party......thanks for sharing the pictures......
