545 vs. 300,000,000
Non-Typical Solutions posted a topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
If you don't read the article, at least scroll to the poem at the end............. READ, WEEP, PRINT AND KEEP! This should be on the front page of every newspaper. A very interesting column… COMPLETELY NEUTRAL… Be sure to Read the Poem at the end. Charley Reese's final column for the Orlando Sentinel... He has been a journalist for 49 years. He is retiring and this is HIS LAST COLUMN. Be sure to read the Tax List at the end. This is about as clear and easy to understand as it can be. The article below is completely neutral, neither anti-republican or democrat. Charlie Reese, a retired reporter for the Orlando Sentinel, has hit the nail directly on the head, defining clearly who it is that in the final analysis must assume responsibility for the judgments made that impact each one of us every day. It's a short but good read. Worth the time. Worth remembering! 545 vs. 300,000,000 People -By Charlie Reese Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them. Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits? Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes? You and I don't propose a federal budget. The President does. You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does. You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does. You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does. You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does. One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country. I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank. I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a President to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes. Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party. What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The President can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it. The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House?John Boehner. He is the leader of the majority party. He and fellow House members, not the President, can approve any budget they want. If the President vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to. [The House has passes a budget but the Senate has not approved a budget in over three years. The President's proposed budgets have gotten almost unanimous rejections in the Senate in that time. ] It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist. If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair. If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red. If the Army & Marines are in Iraq and Afghanistan it's because they want them in Iraq and Afghanistan ... If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way. There are no insoluble government problems. Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do. Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible. They, and they alone, have the power. They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses. Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees... We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess! Charlie Reese is a former columnist of the Orlando Sentinel Newspaper. What you do with this article now that you have read it... is up to you. This might be funny if it weren't so true. Be sure to read all the way to the end: Tax his land, Tax his bed, Tax the table, At which he's fed. Tax his tractor, Tax his mule, Teach him taxes Are the rule. Tax his work, Tax his pay, He works for peanuts anyway! Tax his cow, Tax his goat, Tax his pants, Tax his coat. Tax his ties, Tax his shirt, Tax his work, Tax his dirt. Tax his tobacco, Tax his drink, Tax him if he Tries to think. Tax his cigars, Tax his beers, If he cries Tax his tears. Tax his car, Tax his gas, Find other ways To tax his butt. Tax all he has Then let him know That you won't be done Till he has no dough. When he screams and hollers; Then tax him some more, Tax him till He's good and sore. Then tax his coffin, Tax his grave, Tax the sod in Which he's laid... Put these words Upon his tomb, 'Taxes drove me to my doom...' When he's gone, Do not relax, Its time to apply The inheritance tax. Accounts Receivable Tax Building Permit Tax CDL license Tax Cigarette Tax Corporate Income Tax Dog License Tax Excise Taxes Federal Income Tax Federal Unemployment Tax (FUTA) Fishing License Tax Food License Tax Fuel Permit Tax Gasoline Tax (currently 44.75 cents per gallon) Gross Receipts Tax Hunting License Tax Inheritance Tax Inventory Tax IRS Interest Charges IRS Penalties (tax on top of tax) Liquor Tax Luxury Taxes Marriage License Tax Medicare Tax Personal Property Tax Property Tax Real Estate Tax Service Charge Tax Social Security Tax Road Usage Tax Recreational Vehicle Tax Sales Tax School Tax State Income Tax State Unemployment Tax (SUTA) Telephone Federal Excise Tax Telephone Federal Universal Service Fee Tax Telephone Federal, State and Local Surcharge Taxes Telephone Minimum Usage Surcharge Tax Telephone Recurring and Nonrecurring Charges Tax Telephone State and Local Tax Telephone Usage Charge Tax Utility Taxes Vehicle License Registration Tax Vehicle Sales Tax Watercraft Registration Tax Well Permit Tax Workers Compensation Tax STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY? Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, & our nation was the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids. What in the heck happened? Can you spell 'politicians?' I hope this goes around THE USA at least 545 times!!! YOU can help it get there!!! GO AHEAD. . . BE AN AMERICAN!!! -
We set our trail cams up over natural springs, but I can almost guarantee that within 10 hours a bear is gonna be knocking my camera around. Repeated abuse will continue until they have satisfied their need to completely screw up my camera..............no attractant used, no bait no nothing........

I have not really done any research on the numbers on this but I thought it was pretty hilarious. Doctors (A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000. ( Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000. © Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171 Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Now think about this: Guns (A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000. (Yes, that's 80 million) ( The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is 1,500. © The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .0000188 Statistics courtesy of the FBI >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> So statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Remember, Guns don't kill people, doctors do!!! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT Almost everyone has at least one doctor. This means you are over 9,000 times more likely to be killed by a doctor than as by a gun owner!!! Now if you have more than one doctor, You're just shoot out of luck!!! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!! Out of concern for the public at large, I withheld the statistics on Lawyers For fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention! Be safe and I love you all.

I can't score the buck but that bull is a 2+ if I have my deductions right!!! Cool pics ................

Brian, We have been hunting a honey hole in 27 for about 5 years. We have trail cam pics of some great bucks. The area is extremely rough, extremely tough to get to and I haven't shot a bullet yet at a buck. I admit I am not any kind of a proclaimed hunter, I know the bigguns are in there, but I am just not sneaky enough to catch up with them. They can be a frustrating critter for sure..............

Congrats on the cow hunt.......that can really be a tough hunt we fool ourselves by thinking that because we see them all the time and everywhere we go that those cows are gonna stand around and wait for us to take a shot at them.......nice job...

Don't even get me started on this one.........my wife came home the other night from buying a few groceries. Two people in front of her paid with food stamp card......spent $300 bucks and then $150 bucks for the second one......sculpted nails, nice truck out in the parking lot.......and we are barely getting by pay check to pay check. Both of us work......would never ask and would never qualify for any help. Never been out of work, always able to find work............ They ought to be sweeping the streets, choppin the weeds etc. before they collect anything..................yep, don't get me goin on this one..................too late............. -

I wanted to go see the movie but my wife said I was gonna have to go by myself, that ain't no fun. Venadito, I agree, watching that movie shouldn't be how a person decides to vote but one thing about your post that really confuses me. You asked if there was a clear distiction between the two???? Both candidates are good, smart men who are very capable of leading this country> Then, The two have very different perspectives???? I don't see one thing that Obama has done that is good, or makes me believe he is capable of leading this country. Maybe you could enlighten me on where his ability is??? What is he capable of??? You make a good point aout the movie( which I haven't see) but then confuse me about how both of these guys are capable??? Just confused...........

Fox News reported on a dog that was thrown from a vehicle in the middle of heavy traffic. Great extent was taken to save this dog. Vertebrae were damaged Surgery was performed Cast put on his neck Rehab The dog will now be available for adoption in two weeks, he is still wearing a neck brace. It was determined that the dog had been a victim of dog fighting and had been used as a "teaser" dog, other dogs were allowed to beat up on it to get the taste of blood. Sad story for sure, no doubt animal abuse in every sense of the word. There is an organization in the city this happened that has offered $27,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the abusers.(According to the report all money used is donated money.) Growing up as a kid, our dog got hit by the only semi for miles. Broke his hip, dad said there was no hope for the dog and we put the dog down. Another dog we had started getting into the neighbors chickens. Dad took the dog out and put him down. We raised pigs and cattle, we used available medicine for common issues but if an animal was "down", we put the animal out of its misery. Is it just me, am I just not sensitive enough to animal issues? It bothers me that so much money is spent on taking care of unwanted, sick, beat up cats, dogs, pets in general. Sorry, needed something else to talk about besides the 47%

I have struggled with this through the years because I honestly would help anybody in need. This is how I handle getting hit up for money. I ask them what it is that they need. Usually get a response like gas money or something to eat. So I say, hop in I will take you to get some gas or buy you a meal. One time out of the many times I have been hit up for money, the panhandler agreed to let me take them to get something to eat. All the other times, the panhandler declined, they didn't want food or gas, they wanted my money.......... -

All the worthless POS leeches that suck the life out of our beautiful America. You aren't talking about that 47% are you????? I heard them talking about what it would take I think in Colorado.....$14.75 an hour to make it worth someone going off government checks vs. going out and getting a job. What nobody talks about is the destruction of the personal integrity and self worth that disappears when people decided to take handout over working for what you get. -

Because "Husein's" (Hussein) college record would help determine what kind of president he would be? Does it matter if he has a Master's or Ph.D. or a J.D.? I thought the point was that he wasn't born here, not that he didn't go to school here. Or are you concerned about his grades? I remember your quote, "I would much rather have Hillary in the White House than this fool." As much as libertard as you may think I am, I, like many Americans, consider myself a raging moderate. Even I couldn't countenance Hillary. Geez. There you go Jimmer.....Romney taxes are out for the public.......................does it really matter????? Probably not................ -

I heard that Letterman devoted a good chunk of time to Romney bashing last night as well.......I don't watch that trash but you are right......people listen to that junk and drink the kool aide............ I agree 100% that it sad that people base their voting choice on garbage/comedy vs. facts. No doubt, the average person is very ignorant regarding the actual facts. (Frankly, I place myself in that category sometimes depending on the specific political issue. I'm quite ignorant sometimes.....) That being said, I absolutely LOVE watching the comedy shows. SNL, Colbert, Stewart, etc..... So what if the whole episode was pounding on Romney? It's a COMEDY show!!! Do you think they should be censored??? Pure entertainment for me, and funny as heck IMO! S. It is comedy and yes it can be entertaining. Unfortuantly to many people aren'y smart enough to decipher entertainment from the truth. The writters producers, etc. from these "entertainment" shows know exactly what they are doing. You said that better than I did..............didn't mean to beat anybody up for watchin Letterman............I Tivo the Rifleman so that lets you know how intertaining things are sound my house........................ -
