IOC/Obama/Wrestling
Non-Typical Solutions posted a topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
It appears that the International Olympic Committee has taken a page straight from the Obama strategy plan. Make major decisions and pass laws without consulting anybody about the decision. TALKING POINTS ABOUT WRESTLING AND THE OLYMPICS USA Wrestling has created these talking points for those in the wrestling community in our nation who may be speaking about our sport in light of today's International Olympic Committee announcement (to eliminate wrestling from Olympic Games). Please read them carefully and refer to them in your public statements. 1) FILA, the international wrestling federation, the U.S. Olympic Committee and USA Wrestling did not expect this announcement. None of these leadership groups anticipated that wrestling was being considered for this. 2) This is a decision by the International Olympic Committee Executive Board. The recommendation is that wrestling not be included as a core sport at the 2020 Olympic Committee. This is not a final decision. 3) The next step is for the IOC Executive Board to recommend a sport for the final spot in the 2020 Olympics. Wrestling will be considered for the position along with seven other sports, which happens in May in St. Petersburg, Russia. Then, the next step is for the entire International Olympic Committee to vote on the final program for the 2020 Olympics, which occurs in September in Buenos Aires, Argentina. 4) This is an opportunity for wrestling to tell its story, not only to the International Olympic Committee leadership but also to the entire world. 5) Wrestling is one of the original sports in the ancient Olympic Games in Greece. Wrestling was also included in the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. 6) Wrestling is one of the most diverse sports in the world, with nearly 200 nations from all continents participating in the sport. 7) Wrestling is an inclusive sport which provides opportunities worldwide, regardless of geography, race, gender or physical characteristics. Anybody can wrestle. 8) Among Olympic sports, wrestling has more variety of nations which win Olympic medals than almost every other sport. Wrestling is popular all around the world, and many nations have successful athletes and programs in the sport. 9) This is a challenge for the entire wrestling community on the world level. USA Wrestling, as the national governing body in the United States, is putting its full energy and resources behind this. We will work with our wrestling brothers and sisters everywhere on earth to maintain our sport on the Olympic program. 10) Wrestlers are known for their work ethic. As a community, we will work tirelessly from this point forward letting the world know about why wrestling is so special. We believe that we have the ability to be successful 11) Be honest. Explain why wrestling is so important to you, and also important to the world. Do not be negative or critical of the IOC. It is our job to make them our supporters and allies moving forward. 12) USA Wrestling’s Executive Committee, Board of Directors, staff and leaders are already involved working on this issue. We will continue to update the wrestling community about what is going on. 13) What can you do right now? Stay informed. Join “Keep Wrestling In the Olympics” Facebook page, which is can be found at Keep Wrestling in the Olympics Facebook Page Updates will be posted regularly. -
I use turbo tax and have for years. Last year I claimed tuition/books on my 21 year old and it recognized that as an expense. This year he is 22 and it won't recognize it as expense, says I don't qualify. Any ideas, is it an age thing. I don't claim him as a dependent. Side note, I called the tax hot line last night, was told I might be on hold for at least 30 minutes.....................2 hours later I decided to hang up and try calling again. Got the recording that I needed to call during business hours. As usual, the government left me hanging....................

We cosigned for my son and his wife for a new used car about two years ago after he rolled his rig. They paid off the loan and I recieved an overpayment check from Ally yesterday in the mail. The check amount was for $.01. They spent $.38 cents to mail the check to us.............. Wow..........now that is some serious business there...........

Did you happen to see where Feinstein was trying to explain the attachment device on the gun for a bayonet which someone had to point out to her that it was in fact a mounted ring for a shoulder strap for carrying the gun!!!! Don't let that lady close to a gun she probably doesn't know which end the bullet comes out...........scary leadership all the way around up there at the big house........... -
We will take guns away from US citizens and ship tanks and fighter planes to Egypt. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2013/01/22/gift-us-f-16-fighter-jets-en-route-to-egypt-amid-criticism/

I have truly enjoyed this site through the years. Many stories have inspired me in many different ways. Getting invloved with wildlife projects. Wanting to get better at shooting. Prompting me to try and hold out this year for a "bigger" buck. But this time it is different. I read TAM's article about his loner hunt and how he prepared for it. I even messaged him and asked questions about how he got in shape. After reading, getting some pointers from TAM and making an agreement with my son Cole. I dove in and started losing weight. It wasn't that I was just, huge big, I just knew I was packing about 30-35 extra pounds that I wanted to get rid of......... Cole was wanting to wrestle 106 and I was wanting to go from 165 down to 135ish.......... I haven't seen 135 for about 35 years, graduated from high school weighing a whopping 125. Yesterday I weighed 136...........Cole has been wrestling 106........and honestly I feel lots better. Helped me quit snorring at night which helped me out with my wife........ So thanks TAM for your inspiring story..............and to all you out there who make this the only site I go to for reading and info regarding just about anything............

Wrestling practice started October 1st I think.......I told Cole I wouldn't eat any junk if he wouldn't. That makes for a tough deer hunt I tell you but we survived it. I also used a program called calorie counter to help me choose better food and portion size.
