PETA's DRONE.. HUNTING THE HUNTER

So if I wander around out in the woods with a beer can in one hand and a gun in the other is there a chance of luring one of those suckers in to shooting range??? -
Thanks for helping me remember the Dynasty.....couldn't remember the name. You are absolutely correct about private land as well, I could care less what a person builds on their own property...well unless it is making my shack look horrible of course.....

No difference in any stand being left out for years other than this one looks like it came off that Famous Duck Show........you are walking out around in the woods and come across a lounge chair in a tree.....just looks trashy and not very responsible on the part of hunters.......... I must not hunt where people put up stands because I have never seen such a stand. I have seen ground blinds built out of sticks and brush but never anything like that........

My thoughts on youth draw "changes"-hypothetical
Non-Typical Solutions replied to SHREK's topic in Youth Hunters
I agree with hunting smaller game while trying to get drawn for big game opportunities. My youngest thinks that his turkey and javelina hunts will be recordbook stories for years. We put in for pig, turkey, deer and elk regular hunts. If we don't get drawn for anything then we go for leftovers and over the counter opportunities. If we don't get any big game tags we hunt coyotes, rabbits, fish, dove, quail and..............antlers....... I think there are lots of ways to keep kids positive about hunting as opposed to turning them sour on not getting drawn. Hunting coyotes and rabbits are great ways to teach kids how to shoot open sites or scope, focus on shot placement, know your target. Quail and dove are great because you can teach them open lanes, safe shooting lanes. Fishing is great for teaching kids how to catch and release.......sit back and enjoy a root beer and wait for the tug..... I love the great outdoors and spending time with my kids.......even my grownup ones.............. -

SELIGMAN, Arizona — Authorities say a 12-year-old appears to have shot his father accidentally while on a hunting trip in Seligman. Yavapai County sheriff's spokesman Dwight D'Evelyn says 31-year-old Francisco Pacheco-Lozania died Friday after being airlifted to Flagstaff Medical Center. He says the Verde Valley man and his son had been riding in the back of a pickup truck when it stopped, and the boy took aim at a prairie dog. D'Evelyn says Pacheco-Lozania stood in front of his son just as the boy fired his rifle and was struck in the head. Deputies initially have labeled the shooting accidental. D'Evelyn said Monday that the case won't be closed until all the reports, including those from the medical examiner, are complete. Prayers for this young man and his family.....

Any recomendations for actual height for setting up a tree stand. The area is scrub oak with juniper and relatively thick. Pretty good shooting lanes with one great big juniper that I want to set up my stand in. Never have sat in a tree stand but thinkin about setting one up for early deer beins I can't draw an elk tag....... Any thoughts......

Counting every day........... -
During this past week of hiking and spending time with my family we had an interesting topic of dicussion. Any time you hear somebody finding a skull or carcass of an animal it seems everybody says, "Lion kill". So we are hiking around and find a pile of turkey feathers, "Lion kill", my wife hollers out. We find old cow bones strewn on a steep slope, "Lion kill", my wife hollers again. Then there is the pile of woodpecker feathers....yep....my wife again...."Lion kill". She was making fun of me and my hunting buddies......but really, are they all "Lion kill"? Can that really be determined....lion kill without actually seeing the act? What are your thoughts? I gotta believe that some of the carcasses we come across are death by natural cause, nutrition, age etc.
