Question about some odd AZGFD laws and rules

I definitely don't like vague......too much room for wishy washy interpretation..............most insurance companys are really good at vague and really really fine print...........

    Teachers and Guns

I wanted to do a poll on this just because I am curious but did not feel comfortable setting that up. What do you think? AZ bill 2656 would allow schools the option of having trained teachers with weapons on campus. Other states are trying to put similar bills into action. One problem I worry about is 3 day training, is that really enough training? Also, is the gun locker for storage after hours, or is that where the gun is kept in case of emergency? If it is locked up then why have a gun there in the first place? AEA, the teachers union strongly opposes the bill, but I don't belong to any union and rarely have sided on the side of AEA anyway. I am all in favor of being proactive and think there has to be a solution. I volunteered to my boss to go through training the day after the latest school shooting, figured teachers packing was going to be a hot issue as soon as I heard about the shooting.

Question about some odd AZGFD laws and rules

One thing for sure about laws and Government, if they can write it vague or confusing enough it allows alot of room for interpretation and or application. Interesting info, hope you don't have too many sleepless nights, G$F might hire you to proof read their regs..........

    Varmint/predator rifle?

22-250 has always been my choice but ever since my son built me a Remington .17 I have used it and enjoyed how it puts them down.

    Teachers and Guns

I had not seen that one, it kinda takes care of the issue without coming right out and saying that "teachers" can pack. Just gives the choice if a person wants to pack or not.

    Teachers and Guns

I probably watch too many Die Hard movies.....but isn't there some way to neutralize a situation......stun grenade, mace bomb.....something that would cause havoc for the intruder?? As for the teachers in our country just like any other profession there are good ones and bad ones. As Pine Donkey said earlier, society has dropped a mess in the lap of the teacher and our educational system has allowed itself to get backed into a corner. When teaching spanish became a priority over teaching math and english........... When not hurting Johnny's feelings by holding him back......... No child left behind........... Discipline was taken away from the teacher.......... Un ending list of the demise of our educational system..... And honestly, are you going to get the best people out there with the huge pay teachers get???? I still think there are enough good teachers out there that would be willing to take on the task of arming themselves somehow in order to protect their students..................

    Teachers and Guns

I am about 3 years from retiring from teaching. I would love to go through training as part of a program to help schools be better prepared. I like the idea that people out there know that schools are not going to stand in the corner and get gunned down. I have always argued with my administration about our lockdown procedures. Mainly because of what happened in Newtown. Teachers definitely get alot dumped on their plate like Pine Donkey said and as Casey said.....there are few teachers I would even think about putting in that situation, but at my school there are at least two that I would trust and put a gun in their hand....after proper training. I would really worry about my wifes school......honestly she would be the one I would trust there, but to ask her to charge at a crazy killer, even I don't want her doing that. Tough tough deal, not to be taken lightly and what a burden to worry about. Our kids are having to grow up in a messed up world.

    IOC/Obama/Wrestling

It appears that the International Olympic Committee has taken a page straight from the Obama strategy plan. Make major decisions and pass laws without consulting anybody about the decision. TALKING POINTS ABOUT WRESTLING AND THE OLYMPICS USA Wrestling has created these talking points for those in the wrestling community in our nation who may be speaking about our sport in light of today's International Olympic Committee announcement (to eliminate wrestling from Olympic Games). Please read them carefully and refer to them in your public statements. 1) FILA, the international wrestling federation, the U.S. Olympic Committee and USA Wrestling did not expect this announcement. None of these leadership groups anticipated that wrestling was being considered for this. 2) This is a decision by the International Olympic Committee Executive Board. The recommendation is that wrestling not be included as a core sport at the 2020 Olympic Committee. This is not a final decision. 3) The next step is for the IOC Executive Board to recommend a sport for the final spot in the 2020 Olympics. Wrestling will be considered for the position along with seven other sports, which happens in May in St. Petersburg, Russia. Then, the next step is for the entire International Olympic Committee to vote on the final program for the 2020 Olympics, which occurs in September in Buenos Aires, Argentina. 4) This is an opportunity for wrestling to tell its story, not only to the International Olympic Committee leadership but also to the entire world. 5) Wrestling is one of the original sports in the ancient Olympic Games in Greece. Wrestling was also included in the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. 6) Wrestling is one of the most diverse sports in the world, with nearly 200 nations from all continents participating in the sport. 7) Wrestling is an inclusive sport which provides opportunities worldwide, regardless of geography, race, gender or physical characteristics. Anybody can wrestle. 8) Among Olympic sports, wrestling has more variety of nations which win Olympic medals than almost every other sport. Wrestling is popular all around the world, and many nations have successful athletes and programs in the sport. 9) This is a challenge for the entire wrestling community on the world level. USA Wrestling, as the national governing body in the United States, is putting its full energy and resources behind this. We will work with our wrestling brothers and sisters everywhere on earth to maintain our sport on the Olympic program. 10) Wrestlers are known for their work ethic. As a community, we will work tirelessly from this point forward letting the world know about why wrestling is so special. We believe that we have the ability to be successful 11) Be honest. Explain why wrestling is so important to you, and also important to the world. Do not be negative or critical of the IOC. It is our job to make them our supporters and allies moving forward. 12) USA Wrestling’s Executive Committee, Board of Directors, staff and leaders are already involved working on this issue. We will continue to update the wrestling community about what is going on. 13) What can you do right now? Stay informed. Join “Keep Wrestling In the Olympics” Facebook page, which is can be found at Keep Wrestling in the Olympics Facebook Page Updates will be posted regularly.

    Any Tax Guru's out there

I use turbo tax and have for years. Last year I claimed tuition/books on my 21 year old and it recognized that as an expense. This year he is 22 and it won't recognize it as expense, says I don't qualify. Any ideas, is it an age thing. I don't claim him as a dependent. Side note, I called the tax hot line last night, was told I might be on hold for at least 30 minutes.....................2 hours later I decided to hang up and try calling again. Got the recording that I needed to call during business hours. As usual, the government left me hanging....................

    Ally Financing

We cosigned for my son and his wife for a new used car about two years ago after he rolled his rig. They paid off the loan and I recieved an overpayment check from Ally yesterday in the mail. The check amount was for $.01. They spent $.38 cents to mail the check to us.............. Wow..........now that is some serious business there...........
