    $54

It really boils down to simple math....my 79 Ford used to be my primary mode of transportation.....what used to cost me 25 bucks a tank now costs me 50.......bad gas mileage, too expensive to drive......I don't drive it anymore.......savings account used to be for trips, emergencies....now it has become my hunt a fund account......putting in is just the small small tip of the financial planning.....heaven forbid I actually get drawn.....

    Boys of Fall Help

I am trying to put together a video for the end of the year talent show at my school this year. Using the theme off of Kenny Chesney's Boys Of Fall song I want to have as many pictures of elk, deer, people drawn back on a bow, rifle up to their cheek, kids shooting a bow, anything hunting related, men, women and children no matter........ This not for any money gain, just for our talent show. Soooooooooooo, if you have a picture or two that you would be willing to share with me to put in my video that would be great. Big bulls, little bulls, big bucks little bucks..........shed antlers...you name it. email pictures to mortensen83@cableone.net Thanks, Jeff Mortensen

    Curtis Cauthen Memorial Shoot

Tommy Cauthen and his family lost Curtis in a work related accident a few years back. Curtis was a heck of a hunter as is Tommy and his dad. Those guys can find the big bucks, bulls, coyotes....you name it they do their homework and get it done. Great family. Since the passing of Curtis they have put this hunt together to raise money for individuals less fortunate in honor of Curtis. One year it was for a family who lost their father/husband in the line of duty, he was a police officer down in the valley. Each year for somebody in need. They do a great job with prizes and food there at the Cauthen place in Ash Fork, great people and a great memorial to Curtis.

Sheds In, Under or Around Trees

I had my boys out hiking one day in New Mexico, I glassed up what I thought was the top end of what had to be a huge elk shed sticking out of a bush. Half a mile later, I walk up to it, a small 20" 4 point laying across the top of that scrub bush. I ain't complaining.....it was an antler.......

    Ask the expert-

Why do I always forget to throw the bail on my open face reel just before the sun goes down at prime time???

    Coyote vs. Sprawl

I watched this report and wondered what I would do in this situation......seems like people become so helpless and pitiful when they step out their front door and are confronted with creatures whose habitat they moved into. Coyotes have to be one of the most proficient adapters that there is and little house dogs and cats are easy prey. I love it how they talked about how the coyotes attacked and ate the dog alive and then were requesting humane removal and proper placement of the coyotes out into the wild. Maybe coyote behavior training would be a humane approach to the problem. http://www.azfamily.com/news/Phoenix-neighbors-plan-to-eliminate-coyotes-following-attack-239528341.html

    Who's Ready?

One of my all time favorite pics. We were hiking a ridge, steepern heck, just trying to get from point A to point B. We were next to a fence that followed the ridge. I found the first one and pissed my wife off so she insisted to take the lead. 15 yards on down the ridge she found the other side. They are not very big but a memorable find. Then Cole the lucky sucker tripped across this pair while he was supposed to be looking for our trail cam. Then this one I practically had to stick Coles nose on it before he could see it. Are we ready..........heck yeah, counting the days.....

    Winchester Super X Pump

I have purchased two 12 gauge shotguns over the last 6 months for my boys. We went out and did some clay shooting today. The most recent shotgun has me worried. Maybe somebody out there has more experience with shotguns can help me out. When we shoot the gun, pump action, it throws the pump back automatically ejecting the empty spent shell. Only if I make a concentrated effort does the pump action stay in the forward position. Never encountered such a thing but I don't shoot a lot of shotgun either. Normal?? Not normal??? Should I take it back to Sportsmans??? Thanks for any help, Jeff

    Winchester Super X Pump

Just got off the phone with Winchester.......it in fact is a "feature" for rapid speed pump and considered to be a normal function of this model. I guess my only issue is I have two of the same model bought within 4 months of each other and the first one I bought does not cycle in this manner. I was also told it might depend on the loads I am shooting but when we were shooting yesterday I had both shotguns going pulling shells out of the same box, one gun cycled and the other didn't. When I say cycle, maybe I should say half cycle......pump action all the way back after pulling the trigger. Thanks to those of you that responded and for your input. Jeff
  25. Again, the guys who did the right thing are the ones who get handed out the punishment......... http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/gonzaga-students-face-expulsion-gun-20846915
