    Hawaii

I have been to Oahu but was wondering if there is anybody who has recommendations on one of the other islands? I was thinking of trying Maui...... Is Christmas a bad time? I know....all federal parks might be closed......should that worry me?? Pointers???
  6. Don't belong to any union....................I remember my father in law.....when I was young married to his daughter and we both had chosen the teaching profession. Quote, "Those who can do, those who can't teach school." I would have loved to seen him handle a classroom and put up with the bureaucratic mess our educational system has become. First worst step they ever took in education is when they took the two P's out of the classroom..................Prayer and Paddle................
  7. Thanks Pine Donkey.......there are some really great educators out there not all of them are nut wacko jobs. Education is a pretty sketchy line of business to be in these days, more so than ever. As with any profession, I challenge anybody out there to put the shoes on and try walking in them a while. Kudos to you parents who stay engaged in the events of your children because you really are the glue to our society. If you leave education to someone else then you are going to get what you get. Go spend a morning at the bus drop off and see what the $8.00 an hour teachers aide on morning bus duty has to put up with. Go spend a lunch hour in the cafeteria running herd on a bunch of Jr. High students. Coach a school football team and get ready for the phone to start ringing at all hours of the day because Johnny didn't get play time. Worse yet......spend a day trying to collect homework in math from unmotivated teenagers. The list can go on and on........... No doubt as is clear in the incident about there are some pretty messed up things that happen at school...............well, off to work......teaching a bunch of great Jr. High kids the love that I have of working with wood.....I am lucky. Any Preppers out there?

Coach, You bring up many good points and I have pondered this alot. I keep my eye on my spiritual leaders and try not to get too wound up but it is really hard. As I watch the foundation of this country crumble under the corrupt leadership that we have put into office. Stock piling and saving for a rainy day has always been a part of our way of life, I never feel like I have enough but still it is a part of our "personal plan". I have attached a link to a video, some of you may have seen it. It makes me cringe to think we have strapped our children with our stupidity. Good discussion.....

    Star Targets???

We were in Sportman's this weekend and I saw for the first time Star Targets.......you shoot them and they explode? I have never heard of these, anybody have any experience with them??? If I buy a 2.5 pound jug can I split it up into smaller containers??? $17 bucks for one shot??? I watched several videos tonight of people showing them off but really could not find any real info on it.....I am horrible at research.... Just seemed weird. Curious... Jeff

    Wolf Bloodline Authenticity

Great job of getting that video for me....thanks. Now, where is there any documentation as to whether the Mexican Gray Wolf is of true blood line or if it is a cross breed and not true Mexican Gray wolf. I have heard it is just a mix breed but need some kind of documentation that can be referenced. Jeff

    Wolf Bloodline Authenticity

Jeff, Rather than rely on misleading rumors, do yourself a favor and research the subject on your own. Here's a good place to start in regards to the "bloodlines." The section that begins on pg. 24 is quite pertinent. http://www.fws.gov/southwest/es/mexicanwolf/pdf/Mexican_Wolf_RP_1982.pdf And this link provides all sorts of info on the reintroduction. http://www.fws.gov/southwest/es/mexicanwolf/documents.cfm Thanks Tony, I wasn't looking for rumors, documentation which you have provided links. I always get caught between who is writing the article and what angle they are trying to promote. I appreciate the lead on wolf info.

    Wolf Bloodline Authenticity

sift through some of the past forums about the wolves... Lark aka .270 was a wealth of knowledge on this subject and I kinda remember a post on this or it was talked about in 1 of the posts. dang I miss that dude! James I have started that sifting process as I recall that discussion as well....I just am not very good at sifting.......I miss Lark as well.............he had alot of good stuff...............
