We spent the weekend checking out possible hunting areas for our December white tail tags. Found several really good looking glassing areas that will help us out we hope. We set up a couple of trail cams to see if we could come up with any good pics of big bucks. But as luck would have it......this is what we found while looking for white tail....had a great weekend, my legs are sore and no we didn't hike very far to get the pics of those mulie bucks. The dead head on the other hand came from the deepest farthest canyon of the day and I still had a 700 foot elevation up and 2 miles back to the truck. Great times for sure...

Great job.....now how did it go down???? Story??? -
Or you live in a community where high school football is part of the culture and you enjoy watching your boy go out and have some fun playing smash mouth football.......I guess it does suck somehow.......probably better than my vacuum cleaner but oh well....I can handle this kind of suck.....

Did Coach London leave as well? If they still have him on board it won't be long til the Jackets get back on track. Trust me, some of the rest of us on the mountain are happy to see them have to regroup, give the rest of us a chance come Thanksgiving weekend.....best of luck to the Jackets and their new coach they have big shoes to fill but Blue Ridge football definitely raised the bar for the rest of us and I bet they will continue to put out good teams.

This is how my summer started.....my wife and I water the flowers on main street here in town and I started noticing this buggers chomping on our flowers(maybe 200 pots) spent the next 5 hours picking them off the plants they were doing some major damage to the flowers...... -
If you have another one just like it....same price.....I want it or Tomgobbler is going to have to share......good job getting that to a CWT member......

BB guns work really good at that age as well....prayers for the little girl and both families. Not a responsible activity there.....

PRDATR...funny you should mention that.....for many years the ignition switch would turn over with a anything....screw driver, penny, another key....didn't matter. I finally put in a new one about 6 months ago because it started to hang on the stater and you had to adjust it back a titch to disengage the starter. Just last week it started messing had to turn the key all the way over with nothing then all the sudden....Varuuuuum.....it would turn over and start.

First off......the old 79 Ford sat for 2 years when gas prices started climbing. Then I pulled it out of retirement when Cole got old enough to drive a couple of years ago but this summer has just been horrible. Starter fell out... Drive line flew off... Smoke in the cab from what smelled like melting wires.... Somebody stole the ash tray out of it..... So we had it running again, Cole was driving it to school but I told him to keep it locked up all the time. Saturday night we are all laying in bed, late night, all the sudden we hear the familiar Varuuuum.......Cole hollers at me, Dad somebody is messing with the Ford......we both go barreling out the front door in our underwear with a flashlight. Nothing.....doors are locked on the truck......hmmmmmmm.....must have been hearing things. Thirty minutes later.....Varuuuuum......again cept this time the truck is idling........bang out the door again....... Nothing except my old Ford sitting there idling.......I get the keys and unlock the door, put the key in the ignition....nothing......won't turn off.....won't do anything. We pop the hood and I disconnect the wires thinking wires are going to start melting or something I didn't know what to do,.......finally for some reason the truck just fades off and sputters to a stop. Crazy stuff....2 days later I still don't know where to start, I haven't even popped the hood yet.......

Ha.....that is exactly what my wife has been telling me for the last 10 years but I have had that thing for 28 years now and can't turn it loose....it has been a very dependable family truck and hunting truck....well up until this summer.

Wing Master...thanks for the encouragement....I already feel a lot better, more flexible and my evening walks with my wife seem to be more brisk. I just need to get more disciplined with my eating which is easy enough. I can't keep up with that guy on the video but I don't give up so maybe just maybe I will be ready come December. Wrestling season will have started and I always lose about 10 lbs during wrestling season.......

Hodgdon 223 Powder

I have a load for my 22-250 that I have been using for 30 years, 35 grains of 4064 behind a 60 grain spire point. When I heard of the possibility of helping with copper fouling it got my attention. Plus the claims to great performance. My .17 Remington I have only had for a few years fouls really quick so I for sure want to give this powder a try. Thanks for replys. Jeff -
I turned 54 this year and have thought often about what used to be and what is now. When I got married that changed a lot of priorities for me even though she loved hunting and going out in the hills and we hunted a lot together. Then the kids came along and grandma babysat them in camp while we still hunted. Then I wanted the kids to enjoy what I was enjoying so I got them started in the things I liked, sports, hunting, fishing and hiking. I have posted this picture before but this has taken the place of that trophy buck or bull for me. Don't get me wrong I still dream about big bucks and bulls but......this is what it is really all about. Now that picture right there is a wall hanger in my book, my oldest boy and his son hunting with me on last years white tail hunt. If you are doing things with your family......you haven't lost the passion you have spent your time with those that really mean the most to you and your passion shows.

I have seen plenty of name calling over hunting on the other threads, cornbaggers and such......but I have also enjoyed the information people share on the political hunting or not hunting moderation in all things..... -
Went to Round Valley to watch the boys scrimmage Safford and Round Valley, drug the little boat over with us despite all the dark clouds hanging around. After the scrimmages we headed over to Nelson for a quick fish.........ended up being a beautiful evening of fishing and finally landed this nice 17" rainbow.....course I had to make him bigger by putting my puny Dr. Pepper bottle up there....not sure really why I did that. Fun times with Cole, Daisy and my wife.

Chloe.....8.4lbs 21 inches long born 7:35am this morning....got the call and headed down the hill to take care of the rest of the clan while mamma and baby get some rest. We are such a blessed family. You just have a hard time getting closer to the main man upstairs than holding a brand newborn child. Raghorn an his new baby plus the other three. Little Owen finally warmed up to his new sister.
