Try hunting with Ebola nothing to worry about they got it all under control! -
Arizona State University officials are asking football fans not to wear face paint of any kind after some students, unsettled by images of fans with their faces painted black at a recent home game, complained of racial insensitivity. Leaders of the Valley's African-American community and the Black African Coalition at ASU last week hadcalled for a ban on black face paint, which they said recalled the use of "blackface" in the racist minstrel shows of the 19th century that stereotyped African-Americans. The controversy followed a Sept. 25 "blackout" game promotion in which the university encouraged fans to wear black to match ASU's uniforms. After initially delaying action, the Athletic Department posted a statement Tuesday on ASU's website that said: "As an inclusive and forward-thinking university, it is important for us to foster an environment in which everyone feels safe and accepted. Therefore, we discourage the use of face paint at any event, whether the theme is black, maroon, gold or white, and ask our fans to show their Sun Devil Pride in other ways." It was unclear Wednesday whether fans showing up at ASU athletic events in face paint would be asked to remove it or be barred entry. Kevin Galvin, an ASU spokesman, told The Republic that the university had no comment beyond its statements. A handful of students who wore black face paint when the Sun Devils hosted UCLA said they did so to support ASU. "I'm trying to help clear up that this is not blackface," Tim Schodt said. "This is taking face paint and putting it on your face. This is not a terrible misrepresentation of African-Americans. This is a simple football tradition." But Kyle Denman and Chinenye Okudoh of the Black African Coalition said that while black clothing and stickers are appropriate displays of team spirit, blackface paint is hurtful. The outrage spread over the weekend to the Valley's African-American community. On Saturday, civil-rights activist the Rev. Jarrett Maupin sent a letter to ASU President Michael Crow asking for an immediate ban. Maupin said he had received calls from parents and students who said they were offended and intimidated. Maupin said he felt there was a pattern of racial and cultural insensitivity at ASU. He cited a January fraternity party centered on Martin Luther King Day in which a few ASU students dressed in hip-hop clothes and drank from hollowed-out watermelon cups. Maupin said it was time to implement a mandatory cultural-awareness course for new students. The student Black African Coalition has called for a similar mandatory training on what is one of the nation's largest campuses by enrollment, with an estimated 82,000 students. Galvin said university officials have spoken with the students who wore black-painted faces to the game. "ASU prides itself on being a diverse community and regardless of what the intentions of those individuals may have been, we recognize the racial overtones that such behavior carries and we regret any offense that this behavior may have caused," he said in a statement. "University officials have engaged students on the issue to ensure they understand why these actions were perceived as disrespectful and to reinforce our commitment to an inclusive campus community."

I don't know really very much about cams, I have gone the cheapest route and I bought 2 of these Coverts from a friend that didn't use them. I fight with the programming every time as it is hard for me to know if I really have the right date and time. Here is a picture of the Covert that I have, it must be an older model as I know there is a Covert II. It actually has video capability and one of the cameras I had set at this spot somehow I set to video. I don't know how to post those or I would have, it was fun to see the clips of critters walking through. If you look close in the tree you can see my 2nd Covert it is the one that was set on video and my angle down was not the best so I caught a lot of bear ears, backs and my single buck that came in just barely his ears and the little forks.

Little background on the pictures. Exactly one month ago we went and set some cams up in a draw we thought might have some coues deer. Half a mile in we hit our first water seep in the bottom of the wash. The further we went in the more water holes we bumped into. When we finally found some deer sign we decided to set up cameras. On our way in we bumped into several bear tracks in the different sandy areas in the bottom and at one point we bumped into a water pool that had been recently "stirred up". We were pretty sure we had pushed a bear up the draw we were in. Now one month later, water is running pretty good down this same draw but 5 minutes up the draw we found this. Here we go again, looks like we have another bear sharing the afternoon walk with us. Then we bump into this interesting scrape. Here is a shot that shows the water going down this draw, as said earlier this was dry at the end of August except for spotty small pools here and there. Cole tried to set his cam up down low over one of those pools, hid it really good on the bank and had it strapped to a big rock. I told him the bears would make a wreck of it pretty fast but he is a teenager so you know how that discussion went. The Moultrie cam is way wrong on date and not really sure about time. The Covert is pretty accurate. So this is what his trail cam looked like when we got in there. Camera had a few bite marks in it but the camera still worked and we had a couple of pictures off his camera, this is the last picture we had on his camera so this guy is the criminal. I had two cameras set up just above the wash on what I thought looked like a game trail. One of my cameras actually is in view of the other camera. After reviewing pictures I have decided I kinda like that set up. Her are some pictures from one of them, the other camera shot video clips and that was fun to watch as well. Here is my favorite. Then there is this little guy. Then there is the fat one. And this little bugger. Nice looking cat. And finally the only deer that came through our cameras.....what a monster......at least it was a buck. Cole said he would be happy to take this little two point. Great day trip in and out the water definitely changed the traffic. I love the bear pictures we had tons of bear pictures but I was really hoping for more deer.

This is clearly a hijack situation....and I do apologize Coach........but Edge started it with that picture of packing in and well................... Top picture is Zions Nat. Park up in Utah. Maybe 1979 or somewhere around there. My brother was working rodeo's and guiding trail rides there in the park and he let me come along for the ride one day. There are spots on that particular trail where your stirrups are hanging over the edge on one side and scraping the rock on the other......OK that was a small exaggeration. We had a lady start to bail off her horse cause it scared her so much.....she didn't realize the safest spot on that trail was right in the middle of that horse. Her bailing off scared the piss out of me.......fun times..... Can honestly say I have never had the pleasure of eating any big horn steak.....

Edge, That picture makes me just want to quit my day job and get way out there. Thanks for a great shot. How about this one?? Or this one??? Fun times packing in......

Coach, You guys beat Show Low.......things are looking up.....forgive and forget......I always fall into the category that I shoulda got up 20 minutes earlier and so the other guy beat me there, but I will choose to move on to another spot. Couple of the areas we hunt the end of the road is a trail head and there are always rigs parked there. It is depressing at first but usually people have different ideas about where the deer are from that point on. Sometimes we bump into people and just have to make adjustments. One elk hunt we were out at the tree farms and we knew there was going to be alot of hunters there. We get out of our truck after glassing up some small bulls and we are getting ready to leave the dirt 2 tracker to work a no cover wide open ridge to get ourselves into position for these bulls to maybe come across us. A truck pulls up as we are getting ready to walk away and they stop, we tell them exactly where we are headed thinking that we could avoid conflict. They pull off and drive cross country exactly where we told them we were headed. I was ready to put a .270 round in his tailgate but figured that would not be the best. About 30 minutes later we saw G$F pull the guy over, I hoped at that time he was getting a citation for off road travel. Fishing is where I really get riled up.......have somebody come and cast right over my bobber sitting out there....it is like dude there is the whole rest of the lake for you to cast and you cast over my bobber....... I have decided that there are just some people who have not been taught that ethics word and just don't really give a rip whether they intrude on others or not.

Are we being told the truth about Ebola????
Non-Typical Solutions replied to a topic in The Campfire
Why would we think they are being up front about this........they haven't been up front with us about a whole heal of a lot and this is just one more thing to not really trust them on. -

I did something to my right elbow it is all inflamed, probably doing those dang push ups....so I worked out on the tread mill this morning and will do so until I get this elbow straightened out. I really don't care for the treadmill but for now it will have to do. No reportable weight loss for me but today we start Jr. High wrestling season so it will start to come off
