I thought that was a quality response as well......easy for people to turn their heads and not look because the reality is too much to handle......which is common for our current government.

Through 30 plus years of kicking the hills with me....my wife is still my favorite hunting partner of all.....she can spot game like no other!!!

You are right Lark...I went to work today to recover from 6 straight days........too old for that much fun.......it has been a blast so far.

I noticed that too......shot in the dark for sure but still shooting......

I went in to a draw yesterday where I had seen cows the day before, I think they were getting out of the wind. I don't bugle at all cause I just am horrible but I do pack a reed just for a cow mew. Sitting there just watching when I hear a noise above me, I slowly rotate to take a peek and there is a man with two kids standing with him, they had come down the draw from a road above me. I waved hi they waved back and I turned around to keep watching and to try and hint that I was not going anywhere. The man puts a bugle of some sort up.....blows on it......sounding just like the horn on my car......then they turn around and leave. I am perfectly fine with people trying to bugle and learn the talk.....but you might be on to something there......kind of like trained coyotes that have been called........ I have thoroughly enjoyed the hunt up to this point(except the 30 mph wind swirls)....I love still stalking....I have seen 3 huge mule deer, turkey and yes....some elk too.

My brother shot a buck back in the 70's had a similar wound on one side....deformed antler on the other......

Crazy story......my son's wife got a knock at the door by the cops one day.....looking for the owner of a vehicle, description fitting their vehicle and the plate on their vehicle.(which was not their plate) Turns out somebody had swapped plates on my son's truck... and that plate was on a truck that was involved in a crime. Spooky thing to have happen so along with your list of serial numbers add all your vehicle and trailer plates.

On one hand......I want a monster opening morning at 20 yards.......on the other......I hope to spend as many days as possible out there....I have time to take off work and won't miss it one bit if it takes me every day. And.....if I don't kill......I still got to be away from work and out in the woods dodging rain storms, fallin asleep on a ridge when I was supposed to be payin attention.......wondering why that dang alarm clock went off at 3:30......... Rut or no rut I am going to be giving it hail!!!

When you have the baby of the family, spoiled rotten it gets to where they don't need anything and you don't want to buy them anything so this year we decided to take Cole to Lee's Ferry for his birthday. In my senility and lack of paying attention I didn't realize that Lee's Ferry had fallen from the "trophy trout" status. Well......trophy or no trophy one of the best fishing trips I have ever been on, between the scenery and 100 plus fish it was a trophy fishing trip for me. I spent more time getting fish off for my wife and I was just having a blast watching her put a beating on Cole and his buddy Cody. Every time I turned around she was reeling in another trout. This is a great picture though, some great memories to put in the trophy case!!!

Yeah....Mike made the trip very enjoyable to boot, I want to try that on my own next time but felt it was well worth having Mike give all the historical info, cooking lunch and his horrible ugly I would never have rigged my pole with that kind of bait ever but I never changed what we were using cause it just kept catching fish....guide.

Man we sure get bent out of shape fast these days.....can't we all just get along???

Going to spend 4 days this weekend in Unit 1.......can't wait to find out for myself!!!

Saw this picture last night browsing FB.......whether it is real or not it looks pretty dang painful. Cole and I were arguing over how this could have happened....I say overdraw with the arrow coming off the rest!!!! Be safe out there..........

Tough to those cornerstones move on, truly a different generation and world they grew up in compared to ours of today. I always remember after my mom and dad passed thinking that they were in a spot where they could really keep an eye on me now!!!
