Teaching school at the Jr. High and coaching has brought many surprised to my house over the last twenty years, eggs, mustard, ketchup, salsa, pumpkins and the likes. I turned a kid in to the cops one day, he was dumping tires into our local park dumpster, he saw me I saw him....so when I started getting crap written all over my vehicles and house I knew who was doing that. It comes in spurts and I can usually narrow things down to culprits. Having a teenager at the high school who freely speaks his mind doesn't help any. I have set up trail cameras and caught a couple of hoodlums through the years but they don't do the best coverage. I live on a corner that is easy drive by bombing, my kids bicycles frequently got stolen as it was easy hit and run there too. Finally getting fed up with it and wondering if anybody has recommendations for a not sophisticated system that I can buy and install myself. I don't need something that pings info to my ancient flip phone, just something that will record good enough that I can identify perpetrators. We usually get hit when I am gone on the weekends, so last weekend while we were away for a wrestling tournament we got hit, and then again last night!!!!

We certainly do take alot for granted in this country, the people that stick their necks out for each and every one of us every day. I appreciate those who serve fearlessly......or should I say fearlessly serve.......had to edit that!!!

Trust me, my son would love to do the honors......problem is it would turn into my son going to jail and the scum bag going scott free............that is completely a different story all together.....which I prefer not to air out here..... Nothing a ski mask cant fix! That is funny there..........

Sitting at home in Flagstaff anticipating the awesome idea that a teacher was headed out to space. I was working on my own teaching degree and thought it was pretty cool. As I watched the "live" broadcast I remember thinking that I didn't think is was supposed to look like that....multiple plumes and streamers.........rough day my wife was watching this with her 3rd grade class as well........

I have gotten the law involved every time I thought I had some form of proof and that is the intention with getting a surveillance system set up so I have proof. My mirror getting bashed has been in court for 6 months now and keeps getting bumped for various reasons. I knew who had done it because kids talk at school and word got back to me. I personally confronted both of them and they denied it of course. Luckily I had reported it to the cops the morning of the incident and luckily there were multiple mirrors bashed that night so when I contacted cops about the names I had they then went to work on the case a little more aggressive. I don't really expect cops to spend time on my piddly deviants but it does get frustrating.

I have had the cops involved multiple times. The time I ended up with A-hole written on my sidewalk and truck in mustard....I called the cops, but I knew who did that one cause they were the ones that were dumping tires in the park dumpster and they saw me see them, previous students, donkeys then and continuing to be donkeys. The time my mirror got bashed with a baseball bat....I called the cops plus my neighbors old Dodge had the same thing same morning so I made sure they both got called in. Really not trying to send anybody to prison for pranks......just want to get rid of the frequent flyers that are a pain in the ace. I have gotten alot of good ideas and thanks to everybody, I think I will go ahead and get a system with the DVR recording option that several of you have mentioned. Something I should have done years ago but figured some day it would end, but it hasn't and my age and patience have grown thin.....

I have motion lights already, that was my first attempt to deter.......my dog goes to school with me and is the town pet....I will never get her to chase anybody. I caught one kid on my trail cam writing A-hole on my drive way with mustard.....but most incidents I think look to be drive by. I would love to sit watch with a paintball gun........

One of my all time favorite finds up on a ridge way out in the middle of Unit 10. I was sitting calmly hoping for a big Muley to show up when I look over my shoulder and spot this bottle three feet away from where I was sitting!

I usually need somewhere to rant every time I have to deal with any kind of insurance and this time is no different. I get an extra billing for vehicle insurance this past week, $61.00 so I call my agent to find out what it is for. It seems that in the past I could "waiver" uninsured motorist fees but now due to an on going law suit the state is going to force that upon me. So even though it has not gone into law my do gooder agent decided to keep me ahead of the curve ball and sign me up for it anyway. Then I came across this quote that sums it all up for me!!! Paradoxical Quote of the Day from Ben Stein: "Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured. . . but not everyone must prove they are a citizen." Now add this, "Many of those who refuse, or are unable, to prove they are citizens will receive free insurance paid for by those who are forced to buy insurance because they are citizens."

One the experts for Human remains at the AZ State museum said that based on the tooth wear that it was prehistoric, likely several hundred years old, but that he couldn't say exactly without finding some artifacts associated with it. I haven't seen artifacts with it unfortunately. I think it's likely a Native American that lived in the area hundreds of years ago. The guy from the state museum said that the light colored layer above the skull might be ash deposit from a firepit above the burial. Gotta admit that is a cool find there.......gives a person some respect for the what has been there before I walked through there feeling.....

My wife, she gave me a wallet for Christmas cause mine was tore all up. As I open the wallet I notice what appears to be an advertisement(gift card size and shape) for bed liner work for a company there in the Gilbert area. I turn to her and say.....man what a great idea to put advertisements in wallets like this....as I chuck the card to the trash pile. She turns to me and says.....honey......if you are not interested in getting a new bed liner in that new Ford you bought just go ahead and leave that little advertisement card in the trash......... she is an absolute sweetheart when it comes to getting me gifts. That man crate would disappear in one day at my house........cool gift for sure. -
Kind of interesting to think as well about the worth of a half dollar in that day compared to our current half dollar value. When you consider what labor wages were in that time period......I bet there weren't alot of people walking around with one of those in their pocket. Heal......I don't even have one in my pocket and it would take 3 of them for the Dr. Pepper in the vending machine down the hall!!!

My wife has a pretty cool collection of coins but I have never found any cool old coins like those shown.....that would be fun to find something like that. What stories those coins could tell.......

Both of these found a couple of miles in on a ridge in the Blue. Neither all that old but both telling stories of their own and both trash neither of them protected by law!

I'm reading a great book on snake oil and salesman called 'Charlaton.'People are saps ingesting those unknown substances. If any one is curious if they are gullible, send me a dollar for quick answer. Edge....you know we all ingest substances even today that go beyond the common sense level of thinking. I mean the bottle says blood purifier.......which was a round about the way of saying 90 proof right??? I still can't get over Medicinal Marijuana....crap didn't even know how to spell that.... I will have to dig up a couple of the cans I have found down in the Blue as well......when I find the one I will post a pic.

Headed to Alpine for Thanksgiving break, rolling along when all the sudden we see two small rams at the fence line. So I try to find a place to pull off the road when all the sudden the rest of the herd shows up and they all proceed to jump the fence headed right towards us on the paved highway. Mean time Cole is scrambling for something to take pictures with and all the sudden I remember my cheap Wal Mart camera can take video so we get it running.....got this much video before my SD card was full. We spent about an hour watching them, they got out on the paved highway and ran about half a mile then jumped the other fence. It was funny watching cars weaving in and out of them. Pretty fun to watch these guys...... https://youtu.be/N70gcWZlgls
