I was in Norway when Reagan was running for president.....and as an American walking the streets of that little socialistic country we were the laughing stock because our country was getting ready to put a Hollywood actor in as president! What we have had is not working for our country or for us as working class people, I am ready to try just about anything that will make sure Hillster doesn't get in the door of that place ever again!!!

Got to hunt this last weekend with three of my four boys, had a blast. Cole is headed to Provo, Utah June 1st and then to Detroit, Michigan a month later to serve a two year mission for his church. He is the baby of the family and I gotta admit I am going to miss having him around to hunt, fish, wrestle and beat up on Sunday afternoons. This is Cole trying to locate a turkey........what a goober he can be!!! https://youtu.be/rPlz-9r4210

Like I said Eric.......Cole is a goober.....I am already starting to suffer from missing him wrestling though. On a side note, Wyatt did find a wide fork mule deer shed last weekend!!!

My son Wyatt and I were on our first morning to hunt turkey this past Saturday. I knew where we had seen some turkey before and thought I had this great idea on how we were going to get at them. We parked right on the rim just above Blue Vista and headed west on the fence line......only real way to get through all the downed logs along the rim there. It is pre-dawn and just as we are parking a small car pulls up and asks if we know where Aker Lake is? I have spent many hours kicking around that neck of the woods and the name sounded familiar but I told the guy I didn't know where it was. Wyatt and I hike in a mile along that fence line get ourselves worked into position and try to get some turkey talk going.but everything is silent. So as planned we continued to do some slow walking trying to see if we could find anything out and about. Wyatt was sitting down for a Cosmic Brownie break and I went to peek over the edge of the rim, when I come back there is the same guy from earlier that morning, fully decked out with a fly rod, fishing vest, several different spools for his fly rod and a fishing net hanging on his back. He was certain that Aker Lake had to be some where close but I told him I had never seen a lake anywhere near Blue Vista. He asked me what was just south of where we stood and I said...well the edge of the world for this part of the country. He informed me he would go south anyway and take a look. So Wyatt and I decide to take a very vague 2 tracker north to look for new country to gobble in and we have been walking for about 10 minutes when all the sudden I hear foot steps behind me and here is the fisherman guy again. Fisherman:"Wow....there is no way there is a lake that direction!" As I chuckled he proceeded to tell me he was going to continue looking for Aker lake, I told him I was pretty sure it was not in that general area. He told me when his iphone died the map he was looking at showed it was right there somewhere and proceeded to follow the fence west. Truly a wild and interesting encounter during our morning hunt. I later did find out where Aker lake is located and oh boy......that poor fisherman, hope he isn't on the evening news!!! I knew there had to be something fishy about him looking for a lake there!!!!

Not OTC but with a bow.....couple years ago Cole got really lucky on a dumb Tom.....
-
Yup, they were thicker than seagulls at Dutch. At the end of the fishing season, all hands were on deck removing any morsels from the fishing nets so the eagles wouldn't chew thru the netting. Have to see if I can dig up some pictures......they were not afraid!!!!!

Ah....how could I have forgotten.....Kodiak, Alaska......big birds everywhere up there in a beautiful setting as well!!!
-
That is cool...always fun to watch the predator animals and they way they operate.....I forgot about Roosevelt we definitely have seen them there as well.

One thing that is so frustrating is to go to your honey hole and find whites....which means that I must have been day dreaming last time I was in there.......cool finds thanks for keeping the hope up for those of us stuck in the rut of life!!!

As a family we have spent many hours driving the roads and hiking the hills of the White Mountains and I believe this to be true. I don't remember as a kid seeing them nearly as much as we do now. Places we have seen them multiple times. Buffalo Crossing and up the Black river. Lots of times on the Reservation between McNary and Greer turn off. Reservation Lake Three forks of the Black River. Luna Lake Nelson Lake Twenty years ago there was a nesting area right there at Lake Mary by Flagstaff. And then just two weeks ago right in the middle of the day I went to visit my wife at her school and all the kids were outside looking up at the sky......two eagles in a circling pattern up above right here in Snowflake!!!! Really fun to see them.......awesome picture!!!

It's this exactly. We have a slew of corrupt legislatures that could care less about our kids education. 100% corruption and it's all our own faults for voting them in; including my own. Just follow the money. Those who are invested in charter schools profit from ruining public education. Look no further than the ultra right wing reps in Gilbert. And they don't have to follow same protocol as public schools......charter schools have rocked public education.....

Pride wise that matching set of deer antlers is priceless...........not worth any money that is an awesome find!!
-
When that money came out.......it was supposed to go to the teachers. But...the state attached hoops that had to be jumped through in order to get that money...if you didn't jump you didn't get the money. So instead of a raise it became more work that was put on the teacher in order to get the money. I have been told that due to the economy bust that money dried up......

Oh I forgot......the dentist......he jacks up the price.....you go buy insurance.....which will cover up to 1500 and then you still go ahead and pay the dentist price.........but give a teacher what they deserve......not a chance don't spend any money on the teachers they are just lazy and need to learn to work with what they are given!!!! Cut the budget.......get rid of a teacher and lump 10 more kids in the class that is left over so now your kids are getting screwed because there is not enough time in the day for one teacher to help your kid......35 kids......35 papers to grade per subject, 5 subjects 175 papers to grade before 8:00am tomorrow........
