Raising kids is a full time job and there doesn't have to be a rhyme or a reason for the things that they do. Hang in there with them and keep teaching them, glad nobody got hurt!

One of our biggest frustrations is not being good enough to find those buggers that we have on cam when we have a tag in our hand.........they let us know they are there and then trick us........pretty fun if you ask me, no harm no foul they beat us and I still got to go hunting!!!! Well, trying to hunt!!!

My family has enjoyed setting up cameras........even my wife got into it grabbing the computer to view pictures after a trip retrieving cards. Love being out there and just one more reason to get out there........lots of things going on out there that hurt my feelings way more than trail cams do....and fortunately they don't make laws according to my feelings........

Noticed that and thought...dang somebody is zeroed in that is some great shooting.....

Twelve miles of coyote country between Cotton City and Animas....could usually get two stands in on the way to school in the mornings....funnest times calling ever.........and way better than work.

That right there is what the picture in my mind looks like but oh soooo elusive, nice find there!!!

Made a wrestling road trip to Adams State University in Alamosa, CO. this weekend. Left Snowflake about 3:00pm drove most of the pretty part in the dark. Got unpacked about 1:00am weather was absolutely beautiful wearing a tee shirt while unpacking. Next morning.... Spent some time at Adams State talking to coach and watching some wrestling, came out two hours later and it was coming down hard and put down some great snow.... Got to see that neck of the woods on the way home Sunday morning, beautiful looking country, fun trip despite the surprise snow storm.

We contemplated going through wolf creek prior to leaving but then somebody told me there still might be ice on the top and I knew I was going to be going through there night time.........then coming home with all the new snow on the ground I knew I didn't want to go that way. Looked like some wicked good looking antler country in that northern part of New Mexico.......dang I wanted to go hiking....

Nah...don't go looking anymore....it is a hopeless effort!!! Cool find, still waiting for my chance to get out there for a hopeless effort!

Standing in the express line at Bashas.....big fella in front of me. Cashier: Sir do you have a Basha's card. Fella: No I have never shopped at Bashas before. Cashier: Oh thats too bad you get discounts with a Bashas card. Fella: Wait, what if I have a phone number that works too right? Cashier:Yes sir it does. Fella: What is your area code here? Cashier: 928 Fella: Ok try this number 928-8675-309 Cashier: Wait a minute sir you gave that number to me incorrectly and it didn't go through! Fella: I gave it to you correctly try again, 928-8675-309. Cashier: Wow it went through this time great. Fella: Don't you recognize that number, Jenny? You look like you should be old enough to recognize that number. Cashier: Oh, Jenny, that sounds familiar....... Fella: Yep, use that number with any prefix and it will get you into anything you need!!! As he swiped his EBT card to pay for goods!!!!

Some of the things we have done for humanitarian purposes, if you don't remember this one was ugly and watching it now really makes you wonder....well it does me at least!!

I am usually not one for sucker punches but I honestly like this one.....

Through the years I have been sharing stories with the CWT family about my hunting blunders and fun times I have had with my boys. We have had to do our hunting weekend warrior method for the last 15 years due to my coaching commitment with our wrestling program and my boys commitment to being decent wrestlers. My first son was a state runner up back in 2002, heck of a kid, got DQ'd his senior year for "ringworm". Second son won state his senior year in 2006. Third son was a music nut and didn't want anything to do with wrestling which was perfectly fine with mom and dad..... Fourth son........the reason that I kept coaching wrestling for so many years just collected his 2nd state champion medal this last weekend and is currently trying to earn money to go to Virginia Beach here in about six weeks to put his wrestling on the national level map. What a great ride it has been with these four boys all of which I would not trade for anybody or anything in the world. Even if it did hack into my hunting dreams it has been worth it. I am throwing in the towel on coaching and hopefully get to get back to some hunting......wrestling season sucks for Thanksgiving break and Christmas break....always having to watch what you eat and missing out on coyote calling. Here is Coles finals match against a kid from Benson, Cole told me before the match, "Dad, he has a full mustache!" oh the psychological warfare of a wrestler!!!!

This is me.........heal, according to the map 1 square equals a mile.....I can hike that...........and then my wife a half hour into the mile hike that was only supposed to take 15 minutes.......honey......are we supposed to be dropping this far down??? Not interested in hunting with any of that clan......I doubt very seriously any of them know which end of the gun to hold.......

Here is a few of the rocks picked up by our clan. If you look at the top right corner.....is looks like one of those trilobite cool looking critters if you look at both sides. In the 4th row from the top that black rock with the white stripe we call an Arizona Lucky rock guaranteed to bring you luck if you are packing one of those around. That row of white roundish rocks we call Ghost Poop.......meaning that ancestors have been there before us. 6th row from the top, far left white looking rock I swear is a dinosaur testicle which my wife says there is no way........but honestly it really could be!!! Couple of those in there have the little clam shells in them found most of those up in unit 10. Always fun to clean out the pack after a while and find these buggers have somehow found their way into my pack so we just add them to the rock bowl.........fun times.

I saw the smoke from that and thought....or Lord let that be a control burn.....then looked closer at the smoke and thought....nope it ain't controlled.......gotta make sure fires are out and cigarettes stay in the ashtray flying down the high way, chains pulled up so you ain't throwing sparks.......it is dry out there!!!
