I get frustrated with the news that gets sent out proclaiming all this snow....showing pictures of snowplows and bad roads......footage from previous storms.....making it look like the worst storm ever. I ain't saying it ain't going to happen but for crying out loud, if you are going to report weather get somebody on the ground and report it....... I can always rely on my CWT connection to get me a real weather!!! Thanks..... Anybody been over the rim, Forest Lakes area???

Anybody hear about this law they are trying to pass?? Kinda weird, guess I would just go get a shovel and kill the snake, but if you read on down it talks about 4 species of rattlesnakes that are protected??? http://www.azcentral.com/story/news/politics/politicalinsider/2017/01/14/arizona-bill-shoot-snakes-pests-jay-lawrence/96516674/ (Photo: Dave Seibert/The Republic) Rep. Jay Lawrence has a plan for ridding your yard of pesky rats and snakes: Fire away! House Bill 2022 would lift a ban against firing a weapon within city limits to accommodate those who want to eliminate the critters, as long as the appropriate rat shot or snake shot is used. The idea came from a constituent in his Scottsdale/Fountain Hills district, Lawrence, R-Scottsdale, said. And who hasn't been bothered — or frightened — to the point of wanting to blast said critter to oblivion? But there's a slight hitch: Some people in the district have called the Capitol to say they have no issue with shooting roof rats and their ilk, but the snakes? That's a different matter. RELATED: Woman arrested for firing at snake at school According to the Arizona Game and Fish Department, four species of snakes have state protections. Shooting them could get you in trouble with game wardens, unless the shooting happens during the open-hunting season, said Thomas R. Jones, program manager for the amphibian and reptiles program at the department. And don't even think about the four species that have federal Endangered Species Act protections. The good news, Jones said, is no protected snakes are in urban areas. Still, there are better ways to get rid of an annoying snake, he said. You could call a professional to remove the snake or do it yourself, if you know how, he said. Besides, "they're a really important predator on our rodent population," Jones said. That concern could wane if HB2022 passes and people just shoot rodents. The bill gets its first hearing at 2 p.m. on January 18 before the House Judiciary and Public Safety Committee.

Tips for calling 911 with a cell phone - A peek under the hood
Non-Typical Solutions replied to Jelf's topic in The Campfire
I called 911 for the first time ever last June when the screaming in the room next door at a motel escalated to life threatening verbage! I could not believe the questions I was asked by the operator! Actually thought I was the one in trouble by the time I was finished! Interesting information!!! -
Christmas day hauls - what'd you guys get?
Non-Typical Solutions replied to mattys281's topic in The Campfire
Camp trailer we got in October from CWT member JohnSWA. A great deal on a well kept used trailer! That was awesome but this topped anything we could have gotten! Visiting with Cole for about 45 minutes! Priceless!!! -
I know this may be strange to many of you but I am proud of this kid and what he is doing right now...... Cole has been on his mission now for 6 months and has had such a wide variety of experiences. We missed him this deer season and sure have missed getting to watch him wrestling. Thought I would share some of the photos he has sent, what a great learning experience this has been up to this point. And then it got cold. And finally Merry Christmas to all CWT friends and family........may you and your families be safe and able to enjoy the Christmas season and may God bless all of you!

I have been kicking this piece of antler around for about 3 years waiting to put a knife in it....it fits my hand perfect with the J hooking under my pinky. If you are interested in giving it a try send me a mailing address and I will send it to you. It measures about 1 1/2 inch wide where the front part of the hand would fit on it. Pretty close to 3/4 an inch thick in the same spot.
