Pretty awesome pictures.....my wife and I watched 5 coyotes pick berries off cedar trees one morning and we thought that was strange watching them jump up and grab....but seeing that fox up the top of that telephone pole beats all.....he musta been desperate!!!

I have to laugh.......DISH internet sucked and blew both.....so we dropped it and just kept the TV portion. They inform me I have to send the dish back to them or pay $90.00, I told them they could come get it. They said they would have to charge me......I told them they put it up there to come get it themselves. They said they would have to charge for a tech to come get it plus the $90.00 bucks....... I told them to either come get it themselves..... Don't charge me 90 buck and I won't drop their TV portion of the program.................... The dish is still on my roof and I still have TV........and I didn't get charged 90 bucks........ We use cableone internet which on the mountain is the fastest we have been able to get and DISH for TV.........

Probably the last time I really spent much time at Roosevelt was the late 80's and last summer for the first time I made several trips to Tonto lakes and was very disappointed in the fees set up, the lack of being able to get parking and boating stickers etc., left me scratching my head................we used to spend alot of time at Roosevelt but honestly the system really isn't very user friendly!!!

Chicken killers get me riled.....good job!!! -
Some days I know you all have encountered, you just gotta wonder what am I doing wrong??? I teach two concepts, cutting on the line and leaving the line. In this case the student was supposed to cut outside the line as close to the line as possible but leave the line!!! This kid obviously did not understand cutting close to the line inside or out!!!! Great teaching moment after the fact!!!

I want a farm!!! Looks like lots of hunting fun!!!

huntin pecker....... Just about lost it. That would be Javelina hunting right!!!

So not exactly the same project but the same idea....this is a mutt dog piggy bank and the rear end on mutt dog is similar to the cow piggy bank, which happens to be what the first picture with failure to cut to the line shows. Here are other samples of piggy banks kids are working on!!

Well, at least you're teaching woodworking and not grammar. Sorry, couldn't resist. I wood never survive!!!!!

Or maybe a little more teaching before hand and student evaluation. Sorry but unless the kid is really remedial or challenged there is not reason for that to happen in a wood working class. I took "shop" every year (mandatory) from 7th grade through 12th. Everything from metal casting to welding to printing and sheetmetal/iron working class. But my love was wood working and in my senior year I had two classes, one was cabinet making and the other was boat building. I built a hydroplane and my friend built a 16' runabout, way back in 1970. We averaged 15-20 kids per class, maybe your class is larger but there is no reason for that to have progressed to the point that the project became such a failure and resource was wasted. I do take full responsibility and agree, that type of error is not an acceptable level of "competency" which is a word I have on every page of their folder. There is a vast range of skill level, manipulative dexterity, fear or lack of fear both which can cause harm. I grew up under a similar educational experience as PRDTR, driving tractors, 4-H, FFA, heavy exposure to working with animals and farming. Many of the students I get have very little exposure to such things. I don't really get to bent out of shape because for most of them it is a first time experience, wood shop that is, 7th and 8th graders, girls and boys from all different backgrounds. He will get better at it and that is my objective, after safety of course!

I will see if I have somebody far enough along on their project to take a picture.......

My only memorable misfire was a personal load on my 22-250 where I neglected to put powder in the casing and the primer fired but pffffffffttttttttt.......stuck the lead in the barrell.......embarrassing!!! Is it photo optical illusion that those two cartridges don't look the same length??

Took two of my grandkids fishing Saturday and had a great time. This is how it went. GP: Owen just let it sit. O: Can I reel it just a little? GP: OK 3 times O: Can I reel it again something is pulling on it. GP: OK reel it in......only to discover moss on his hook. Cast back out again.......and repeat over and over again for two hours straight. O: Grandpa......it's PULLING GP: Just reel it 3 times Owen! O: No Grandpa it's really pulling........ Could not get Owen to hold the fish himself for a picture........ Big brother Max conceded that Owen was the fishing king for the day......holy smokes bigger than any bass I ever landed!!!

If you take your cap off and look at it there can be up to 3 layers of different fabric involved in making that hat and it can sure work in a bind!!!
