The only time you might have to split the skull late is if it will not fit in the bush plane or it is unable to be tied to the struts on the bush plane. You can bring the antlers back as checked luggage, but like was said earlier you must wrap the skull plate and cover the sharp ends of the antler tips. Some people have their meat processed and bring it back in ice chests as checked luggage. I had my moose and caribou meat processed in Fairbanks and they shipped it to me air freight on Alaska Airlines. The cost was around $140 if i remember. The day they put it on the plane they called me on the phone with the flight informaton and i picked up my still frozen meat at the Air Cargo Terminal at sky harbor. Hope this helps.

I use the realtree hardwoods HD. It works great in the deserts. But does give the black blob effect in some areas. I think the natural gear or prairie ghost would be the best choice. Thats what I will be wearing in 36B this year!!!

I take all my animals to Marc. he is one of the best at what he does. I just picked up my last antelope from him 2 weeks ago. I will post the pics tomorrow. That is a great looking deer you got there bowsniper!

36B october hunt for me. My brother also drew a unit 8 rifle bull tag. Its going to be a great year.

Dont worry to much, sometimes it takes up to 3 days for the pending charge to actually be taken out.

I believe it. A few years ago when the spring draw results came out I called the 942-3000 # and my results were availabe. I was only able to do it once because the system kept going back to saying the results were being loaded into the system and were not available. It was not until the next day the system was opened up.

Just checked my B of A online banking, looks like I will be hunting deer in 36b again this year! I only wonder if it will be in Oct. or Dec.! Good luck everyone! Can only maintain hope for my sheep tag next year!

Personal preference for me is my 300 ultra mag, I have been using it for 5 years now and have taken all kinds of game from bobcats, deer, pronghorn, and elk with it. But like was said before find what works for you. I have a load for coues that is loaded up with 125gr sierras that zips out there and touches them. Whatever you decide on make sure you are comfortable with it.

One thing to remember when you are trophy hunting is: If its big enough to shoot on the last day it was big enough to shoot on the first day!

Drew the multi unit tag. So i will be chasing javelinas in 40A and 40B this year. But I think I am going to try and arrow one of the coues bucks we have been seeing in 40A. Good luck everyone on your hunts!!!!!!

Great buck!! And never let it be said that a 300 RUM is too much gun. Its perfect in my opinion, I should know I use one, hahahaha. Good job on your hunt!!!!

Liek most people on here I hope to shoot a 100" buck or better, but as long as it is not a spike its on!!! I actually would like to get a deer with alot of mass and dark color to his antlers, regardless of points or score.

The best time to glass is anytime you are out in the field!!!! Just cause a deer is not moving does not mean you cant glass him up!!
