I used a different card than usual so I wont know anything until tomorrow!!....Its killing me! But 4 friends of mine drew bull tags and 2 of the same guys drew antelope. One of them is my friends 12 year old son that drew an antelope tag! That kid has all kinds of good luck! -

Ahhh so many things learned over the years. Alot of us have learned the same lessons doing things our own ways. As I sat here nodding my head reading these posts...haha. here are a few things I have learned. 1. If you want to harvest a 100"+ buck you must pass on the smaller ones. 2. Shoot your rifle often and be comfortable with it. Know where it shoots at different distances. 3. Use the best optics you can afford. Can never stress this one enough! 4. No matter how bad the hunting may be that day, its always nice to share camp with family and good friends. 5.And the one thing I tell everyone, DONT EVER GIVE UP HOPE UNTIL THE VERY LAST SECOND OF DAYLIGHT THE VERY LAST DAY OF YOUR HUNT! This one has proven iself to many times over the years!!

Met a fellow CWT.com Member

Glad to hear your client tagged out. We got onto 4 bulls sunday night but we lost shooting light before I could get my brother set up on them. Piceked up on them again monday morning again but the hike tore up my brothers already bad knee so he went home early. The elk really started moving on saturday morning. Also counted around 40 mule deer and about 60 antelope over the weekend. -
Was up in Williams guiding an elk hunt and got to meet Muley at the Circle K. Saw another vehicle with a CWT.com sticker but was not sure who it was. I was in my lifted chevy Z71, that is charcoal gray.

The strangest colored coues deer I have ever seen was in 36B a few years back. The deer was a cinnamon/red color except for her head and neck which were the usual gray color. Her 2 fawns were the usual gray color.

Hey congratulations on the buck!!!!!! That mountain is very familiar!!!!....hahaha Glad you tagged a coues, its been a long time since anyone has tagged one down here.

Those pics are awesome. On the last evening of my Oct. hunt I was looking at the moon through my 15's. didnt get any pics but you all sure did take some nice ones!!
-
I hunted 36B all weekend and the deer have been holding tight in the thick cover due to the temps and wind. Another thing we noticed that the moon has been fairly bright even though it has been only half all weekend. On sunday we would basically have to step on the deer in the cover for them to move. And the only other time they would be up moving was around 7 in the morning and 5-6 in the evenings. Alot of the bucks I saw were either going in or coming out of the mesquite thickets where their bedding areas were.

As I was sitting here reading the posts again, I realized that I could just order the equipment I have to have before I leave wednesday! And save me a trip to Cabelas! So I ended up spending an extra $50 to make sure its delivered by tuesday!......I think I am past the going crazy part and am starting to go over my mental checklist over and over. ITS ALMOST TIME!!!!!!!!!! WOOOO HOOOOO!!!

Heading down to 36B. I bet the kaibab is going to be awesome this year especially with the snow. Good luck, and have a great time!

I have been friends with the Refuge Manager for many years as he is also from Ajo. I will call him and ask him about this. I dont believe it would be a problem at all to carry a sidearm while hunting though.

I have always been proficient at killing javelinas with my bow, but those darn deer elude me!!!! I can never hit them! wether it be at 20 yards or 70 yards....lol The most blood I have drawn while bowhunting deer is when a broadhead sliced my finger wide open as i was shooting at a mulie buck. But I must say this, being a bowhunter has made me a better rifle hunter. Hey Dave, as for the Texican i dont think he knows how to say coues let alone spell it....lol, so he wont find this site!....lol. As for starting a New Hope Thread, it takes a pretty big man to weild such a thread! maybe you should start it.

You are exactly right about the desert after a fire. It is never the same again. when we had the Goldwater Fire burn 60,000 acres it still does not have one bi of new growth in the burned area. I will take some ics of it on my way home and post themso you can see the difference.
